Now that he has had a bath and gotten dried off and put every feather in place, he will pose for me. Apparently all the hard work paid off, the female is following him every where he goes now. Somehow I just know I am going to post too many shots of these little guys. Thanks to all for the comments and the looks.
Road through the Painted Desert, part of the Petrified Forest National Park. A side trip during my tour of Route 66, the Painted Desert was one of the many attractions that made the Mother Road the most famous highway in the world.

Little outfit for my nearly 2 yr old niece. Very quick to sew, finished in a day with my on and off sewing :-) Sewn up in a lovely soft interlock with green rib knit (picked out by my son). Love the paint splattered look, very practical for day care ;-)
The grandson of a volunteer at the Troy Thrift Store spilled some paint on the steps. Whoops! But what cute little feet!
This is "Other Brother" he is a 6 year old grade paint gelding. He is been rode on many many trails has been thru a lot of ground work training and even some ranch work. At Farm Day, the kids got to participate in an art project. They used paint made from fruits and vegetables. This bee couldn't tell the difference between a real plant and the painting. The pink is beet juice, the brown is coffee, the yellow is tumeric and there may be carrot juice too.
In the north of Ibiza on the edge of a German holiday camp are some brightly coloured lumps of concrete.

Paint and rust on an old automobile aging in a junkyard. I copied, inverted and pasted the original pattern to create this mandala pattern.
Seen a lot of these around the local area over the past few weeks. This one spent quite a while soaking up the sun on a footpath next to one of the local meadows a bit earlier in the month. Kneeling down on the path with all those little stones was somewhat irritating but it got me the shots I wanted, so I was happy in the end, despite having some stone shaped dents on my skin!
Indian paintings on a bluff along the Concho River in Central Texas, some of which may date back thousands of years.
The paintings are on private land, but tours can easily be arranged. Google "Paint Rock Texas" for more description about the site as well as information on how to arrange for a tour.
Choice: In this photograph, I wanted the paint to appear almost solid. This look was achieved by using a very fast shutter speed. The paint was also thrown in a fashion where all of it is dumped at the same time. I like the use of different colour paints in this photograph as it makes the photo bright and fun. The colours of the paint also reflect the overall fun emotion of this photo.
