This is the pagoda at the Buddhist temple Sensō-ji in Asakusa, Tokyo. It is built in a classical style - but actually dates to 1973. There has been a pagoda on the temple grounds since the 17th century, so it is part of an old tradition.
And if you are ready for some confusion: Asakusa and Sensō is actually written with the same kanji: 浅草. They can be read both ways. But the reading Sensō is now used for the Buddhist temple (浅草寺) while Asakusa is used for the area, but also for the nearby Shinto shrine (浅草神社).
Sensō-ji was originally founded in 645, making it the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. According to legend it all began when two fishermen found a statue of the Kannon in the nearby river in 628 (they now are venerated at the Asakusa shrine). During the Tokugawa shogunate (beginning in 1603) Tokugawa Ieyasu chose Sensō-ji to be the tutelary temple of his clan. Earlier the temple was associated with the Tendai sect, but after World War II the temple went independent.

Three-storied pagoda at the Buddhist temple Gōtokuji.
For most tourists this temple is quite a bit off compared to other famous sites in Tokyo - but it is still quite popular. After all they maintain the story of being the place that invented the beckoning cat - said to be inspired by a story of a monk's cat which saved the daimyo Ii Naotaka from being hit by lightning by beckoning him into the temple.
But this temple is worth a visit for more than that (and I am saying this as a great cat lover). It is the largest historical site in Tokyo (according to the sign at the entrance - and I have no reason to doubt it). A temple has stood here since 1480, and Gōtokuji dates to 1655, with many of its existing buildings actually dating from the 17th century. The grounds are extensive and includes a cemetery for the Ii-family with traditional tombs.

Central section of pagoda at Daigo-ji, Kyoto. Very intricate wooden structure built in 951 and the oldest building in Kyoto. It was one of few buildings to survive the Onin War in the 15th century. A National Treasure of Japan.

The five storey pagoda at Senso-ji. The original was built in 1648, it survived the Great Kanto earthquake - which devastated much of Tokyo - but was destroyed by an air raid in 1945. This new pagoda was built in 1973.

This site just off Inle Lake, Myanmar, has so many of these small pagodas. They are very attractive.

Thoughts from a Pagoda
Sweeping the yard
Cutting the flowers
Preparing prayer seats
Meditating
Facing my own fears and weaknesses
Embracing them with kindness
Conversation with Buddha
Reading the Sutra
Helping for dinner
Eating a bowl of rice
Enjoying each grain of rice one by one
Being grateful for the sun, clouds, rain, for the hardworking hands of the rice farmers
Feeling the cycle of life
Consciously drinking a sip of cool water
Closing my eyes
Feeling the refreshing waters of life
Understanding how little it takes to be happy
Understanding how unimportant I am and how much that can mean
Watching the night lay its soft blanket over the sun
Closing my eyes silently, tired but happy and being fulfilled
Feeling gratefulness for being a small part of life
Soon I will be back again
In the oversaturated, blind everyday life
Like a little snowball
Lovingly and carefully shaped by gentle hands with fresh snow
Clean and softly formed crystals
Then rolling down the hill of life
Faster and faster, unstoppable
Accumulating stones, dirt, brushwood
Losing the original shape and purity
To arrive deformed at the bottom
To search my soul again

Great Pagoda at Kew Gardens in southwest London, was built in 1761 by Sir William Chambers as a present for Princess Augusta, the founder of the gardens. Constructed of grey brick, the pagoda comprises 10 storeys, totalling 163 ft (50 m) in height, with 253 steps to the viewing gallery. Closed for repairs in 2006, the pagoda was reopened in 2018 following a major programme of restoration. It is a Grade I listed building.

This is a repost. I postet this image out of camera first in 2017 when I was new on Flickr while I was travelling in Thailand, I had no good computer and software for editing with me. Now I did a RAW edition using DxO Pure RAW and further in Photoshop Lightroom, because I thought it is worth to do so.
The Ci En Pagoda is a pagoda in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan.
President Chiang Kai-shek decided to construct the pagoda as a memory to his late mother Wang Caiyu. During the construction, materials had to be brought in through the Sun Moon Lake and up the mountain. The construction was then completed by April 1971.

Kew's iconic Pagoda was completed in 1762. The ten-storey octagonal structure is 163ft high (almost 50m).The Pagoda was one of the jewels in the crown of Georgian London. It was so unusual that a suspicious public were unconvinced it would remain standing when it was built in 1762.
Designed at the height of the 18th century craze for Chinoiserie, it tapers with successive floors from the first to the topmost being 1ft less (30 cm) in diameter and height than the preceding one. The original building was very colourful; the roofs being covered with varnished iron plates, with a dragon on each corner. There were 80 dragons in all, each carved from wood and gilded with real gold.
The eye-catching dragons were the talk of the town for 20 years, before disappearing in the 1780s. The dragons had been removed in 1784 when repairs were undertaken to the building’s roof and are rumoured to have been sold to pay for the Prince Regent’s debts. However experts believe that, being made of wood, they had simply rotted over time.( Kew)

In turn, each level has 6 doors and each of these doors is presided over by a statue of Amitabha.
The 11 levels is not something casual, since each of the 11 levels corresponds to one of the 11 different states of Buddhism until reaching enlightenment. It goes without saying that, for such an old construction, the 15 meters it reaches are a very imposing height. Tran Quoc Pagoda has the honor and pride of being the oldest pagoda in all of Hanoi. This pagoda was built between 541 and 545. Almost 1,500 years ago.
