Afectuosamente dedicada a Oscar Hevia, que tiene la fortuna de vivir en ese hermoso rincón del mundo. // Warmly devoted to Oscar Hevia, who has the fortune of living in that wonderful corner in the World.

The light spawns its silver light over the sea.

Pacified, the waves magnify the silence

of the feeble steps of the day

venturing into their habit

of increasing noises.

The skin gets over and is assuming

the splendor of the sun which already lavishes

its luxury of colors and reliefs,

the blue sea, the greedy mirror

in which the sunny sky watches itself

and in its swinging the sound of the waves

suggests a long trip to memory.

Each day renews its memory, old days

in the time unit which is the life.

pacifying the mind, clouds return home, the sea calms down…/Atardecer, tranquilizando la mente, las nubes regresan a su hogar, el mar se calma…/En solnedgång, själen kommer till ro, molnen återvänder hem, havet stillar sig...

Bonnie, my greyhound, didn’t share my love of photography. She was a distracting, comic actor and played the fool brilliantly. I spotted the fence and tulips on her walk. So I did well to pacify her and control the strong-willed iPhone camera. I like the contrast in colours between the fence and the tulips.

The beach of Basilicata Maratea, the only commune on the Tyrrhenian coast and is one of the few places in the region for a beach vacation, with a population of just under 5500 its ranks swell considerably when the warm weather moves people to a costal cool down. Pictured here is the view of sunset from the road leading to the statue of Jesus on top of the mountain just like the one in Rio de Janeiro Brazil except on a little less grand scale and quite conveniently located near our wonderful accommodations La Locanda Delle Donne Monache.

People have always loved the wonderful setting of Maratea with its rocky coastal views, back stop of mountains, hillside forests and over 20 beaches in the commune it has much to offer so has been inhabited since the 15th century BC. The Romans took over in the 2nd century BC and then the Byzantines after the fall until the 7th century when this area and the sea came under Saracen control, apparently they were not great neighbors so the coastal population moved into the hills establishing a fortified town that became modern Maratea soon after their takeover.

The Normans conquered southern Italy in the 11th century and Maratea was buffeted by the winds of change throughout the millennia from factions vying for control of the south until the 18th century dawned and with it the golden years for the town coinciding also with the golden period for construction when most of the 44 churches were built. Maratea’s fortunes were soon to turn though when Napoleon declared himself King of the South and the town refused French rule putting it on the hitlist for the French to pacify.

Ludlow Castle is a ruined medieval fortification in the town of the same name in the English county of Shropshire, standing on a promontory overlooking the River Teme.

Ludlow Castle is first referred to by chroniclers in 1138, but its date of origin is not certain. The architecture suggests that the curtain wall of the inner bailey, its flanking towers and parts of the gatehouse-keep date from the late 11th century. The site of Ludlow was in a corner of the important manor of Stanton, held since 1066 by the de Lacy family. The level building surface and the steep slopes to the north and west made this a fine defensive position. The rivers Teme and Corve gave further protection. Most of the castle was built of chunky Silurian limestone quarried from its own site. It was one of a line of Norman castles along the Marches, built to pacify the countryside and hold back the unconquered Welsh.

Pacify her.

This is actually the one of those experiences which confirms another time that each moment is absolutely unique. I am getting bored very fast of long exposures normally as i do not know what to do in meantime and it is such a contrast with the street. So i've done one or two of those, came home, had a look and sort of knew that i wanted to do it better. I went next day - the same time, the same place - no luck the tide was almost touching the buildings... So no second chance..:-) and you have to see the first attempt;-)

I look over the darkland haze,

And I see so many souls ablaze,

And I feel myself enter the darkland haze,

Detained, as I fail to see the light that points the way.

Retreat to dreams of another day,

Replace trust from along the way,

Define, collate, the thoughts profane,

Don’t look, don’t weep, pray hard to return again.

Holding onto the wasted land,

Holding onto the wasted faith,

Take away the imagery,

And let the hurt lead you on.

Embrace the fire that burns, the flames that shine,

Retrace the steps of Gods that lead to heaven,

Hell in sight, the burning kingdom draws me in,

The angels plead but I’m taken by the promises of sin,

Perverse, undignified, unpure,

Don’t look, don’t weep, pray hard, to go far away.

Fleeting thoughts conjure up the darkest notions,

Plague my dreams and invade my conscious when I’m waking,

Pacify apparitions far and wide that cross my path,

And leave me standing cold and shaking,

Scared and ashamed as I beg for reprieve,

Closed in, condemned, pray hard to return.

Don’t look, don’t weep, go back, go far away.

Holding onto the wasted land,

Holding onto the wasted faith,

Take away the imagery,

And let the hurt lead you on.

Pray Hard.

We are nothing but an eating mouth

Oesophagus, colossal

We won't stop until we've beaten down the planet into pellets

Before the interstellar mission to inflict more terror

Atomised; thinking we're engaged when we're pacified

Staring at the screen so we don't have to see the planet die

What we gonna do to wake up?

We sleep so deep, it don't matter how they shake us

If we can't face it, we can't escape it …..

But tonight the storm's come

Tunnel Vision - Kae Tempest - LISTEN

Whenever I travel, I am fascinated by the influx of people who I am surrounded by and the preoccupation of guessing whether they are residents of the city I am visiting or tourists like me. I can identify with the feeling of being displaced and somewhat discombobulated first by the every day experience of being alive and second by the act of traveling across the world so easily and quickly in a way that would have been unheard of even a hundred years ago. I do like the idea that we all come from somewhere and yet I also feel like geography might be a cruel illusion to keep molecules floating in space so desperately apart. I’ve always been against the politicization of borders and xenophobia. In my own country, there has been such a talk about walls and the criminalization of humans who have valid life stories and probably a great deal to teach us. The only real danger to the future of America is white supremacists and profit over people, which has been shaping the legislature here fore far too long.

In any case, I like to imagine a Miami, Spain. Perhaps, it is just as warm and tropical but with better architecture and more progressive politicians. Perhaps, you can pacify even the most agitated alligator there by feeding it papa bravas and distract DeSantis from further hate speech and harmful policies by trapping him for an eternity in some elaborate Gaudi architecture.

“Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. He is not a good man who, without a protest, allows wrong to be committed in his name, and with the means which he helps to supply, because he will not trouble himself to use his mind on the subject.” - John Stuart Mill (1867)

Photographic Day 2020 Greetings to all photolovers.

Passion for photography begins with interest and equipment eyeing around to capture of meaningful pictures initially and after reaching some experience there enters creativity.

There are pictures are plenty around us only you to trace it out the best one according to your taste at the same time to some extent apprecibla by others too. That means aesthetics is to be respected.

Sometimes in photography you have to face tough times like unfavourable weather conditions, staying discomforts, food problems, public misbehaviour etc. You should keep fitness like any other sports to maintain mind and body free of problems.

While taking this Kambala picture we four from Chennai faced the misbehaviour by some of the villagers believing us as PETA informers.Though we got permission from the organisers and one Eenadu photojournalist was helping with us we were unable to pacify them. Some were indebriated, abusing us as PETE agents, pushed down our team leader Rajaskar. HK and hit him on his face. Local policemen intervened and advised us to vacate the area as the crowd was swelling to enjoy the sport and some might harm our equipments.

In photography we should be adaptable and careful. when shoot women in public places and posting in social media one should be very cautious.

Pray God to end the Covid-19 pandemic and pave the way for photography.

Once again my greetings.

Mount Vesuvius is a somma-stratovolcano located on the Gulf of Naples in Campania, Italy, about 9 km east of Naples and a short distance from the shore. It is one of several volcanoes forming the Campanian volcanic arc. Vesuvius consists of a large cone partially encircled by the steep rim of a summit caldera, resulting from the collapse of an earlier, much higher structure.

The eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis, Stabiae, and several other settlements. The eruption ejected a cloud of stones, ashes and volcanic gases to a height of 33 km, erupting molten rock and pulverized pumice at the rate of 6×105 cubic metres per second. More than 1,000 people are thought to have died in the eruption, though the exact toll is unknown. The only surviving eyewitness account of the event consists of two letters by Pliny the Younger to the historian Tacitus.

Vesuvius has erupted many times since. It is the only volcano on Europe's mainland to have erupted in the last hundred years. It is regarded as one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world because 3,000,000 people live near enough to be affected by an eruption, with 600,000 in the danger zone. This is the most densely populated volcanic region in the world. Eruptions tend to be violent and explosive; these are known as Plinian eruptions.

Vesuvius has a long historic and literary tradition. It was considered a divinity of the Genius type at the time of the eruption of AD 79: it appears under the inscribed name Vesuvius as a serpent in the decorative frescos of many lararia, or household shrines, surviving from Pompeii. An inscription from Capua to IOVI VESVVIO indicates that he was worshipped as a power of Jupiter; that is, Jupiter Vesuvius.

The Romans regarded Mount Vesuvius to be devoted to Hercules. The historian Diodorus Siculus relates a tradition that Hercules, in the performance of his labors, passed through the country of nearby Cumae on his way to Sicily and found there a place called "the Phlegraean Plain", "from a hill which anciently vomited out fire ... now called Vesuvius." It was inhabited by giant bandits, "the sons of the Earth. With the gods' assistance, he pacified the region and continued. The facts behind the tradition, if any, remain unknown, as does whether Herculaneum was named after it. An epigram by the poet Martial in 88 AD suggests that both Venus, patroness of Pompeii, and Hercules were worshipped in the region devastated by the eruption of 79.

Boy and girl birds, look almost the same. That is, there is no sexual-dimorphism.

Adult bird, head completely bald; Throat, featherless. Throat color, yellow; There is redness in the face.

Juvenile birds have some feathers on the head and neck, but are conspicuously bald. Throat color, whitish. And there is no redness on the face.

Madan, the name of the god of love in Sanatan Dharma. It is said that when all the other gods, fearing an angry Shiva, did not go before him, Madanadeva, in a simple mind, went before him, to pacify Shiva, and, consumed by the fire of Shiva's eyes (panchasara), was reduced to ashes. Perhaps, due to this incident, fools or simple minded people came to be called madans.

Paranoid

Song by Black Sabbath

Finished with my woman 'cause

She couldn't help me with my mind

People think I'm insane because

I am frowning all the time

All day long I think of things

But nothing seems to satisfy

Think I'll lose my mind

If I don't find something to pacify

Can you help me

Occupy my brain?

Oh yeah

I need someone to show me

The things in life that I can't find

I can't see the things that make

True happiness, I must be blind

Make a joke and I will sigh

And you will laugh and I will cry

Happiness I cannot feel

And love to me is so unreal

And so as you hear these words

Telling you now of my state

I tell you to enjoy life

I wish I could but it's too late

[Exactly this] is the ‘evil’ of this world: goodness and satisfaction—instead of magnifying and intensifying the soul’s longing—pacify it, weaken it. Once they are reached, instead of completing the person, goodness and satisfaction cause him to decompose; they empty him. Because man is man in as much as he strives, acts, pours himself out, gives himself, sacrifices himself.” Giussani insisted, “Man and life exist in the dynamic of gift of self: sacrifice of self.”

-The Life of Luigi Giussani, Alberto Savorana Translated by Mariangela C. Sullivan and Christopher Bacich

Nature does that for me. I am thankful for macro photography and the kind of meditative peace it brings me.

When the "Super Continental" was discontinued on the CNR route, VIA put on two small coach-only trains to pacify the citizens of Saskatchewan and Alberta: #109 from Regina to Saskatoon, and #103 from Saskatoon to Edmonton. Of course, the eventual relocation of the so-called "Canadian" from the CPR to the CNR put an end to these trains. But I decided to park the car at Regina, take #109 to Saskatoon, and after an overnight stay I would take #103 to Edmonton. Both of these trains were just a baggage car and coach behind an F-unit. Then the ride from Edmonton to Calgary was on an RDC "Budd" car on the CPR. At Calgary I boarded the real "Canadian" for an overnight ride back to Regina. This is the view from the rear vestibule as the evening was turning into that magic time.

Ooshima-zakura (Cerasus speciosa) is a cherry species originating in the volcanic island of Izu Ooshima that is part of Tokyo prefecture. It is a parent of the popular Somei-yoshino hybrid, but the colour of flower is different. It sprouts new leaves while it blooms in contrast to Somei-yoshino that sprouts new leaves after flowers fade.

The main keep of Edo Castle was constructed in 1607, 1623 and 1638. The stone base in the photo was reconstructed after the Meireki Fire (明暦の大火) in 1657, which burned down half of Edo within the outer moat. However no keep was rebuilt on the base.

I suppose the shogunate found no reason to spare a large amount of money for the keep as the Tokugawa had pacified Japan completely by that time.

There is a group of people in Tokyo that has been promoting the idea of reconstructing the keep as a symbol of Tokyo like Osaka did. This idea, however, is not received positively by the Imperial Household Agency, more specifically, Emperor himself that owns the property.

Imperial Household has been demolishing Tokugawa architectures in Edo Castle since they moved in from Kyoto in 1868.

“The intriguing placidity from the slothful pace of a snail is truly very peaceful. Our world is in need of this calmness to pacify itself”

" No way

I won't deal

Go fuck yourselves

Don't tell me how to feel

Now I'm bored

Of your caucasian Jesus

Not seen

But isn't even there

And I dream

What you could never dare

My thoughts are not who I am

I've killed, I've died

And I've tried the best I can

I run from you

Harbingers of doom

'Cause I won't be pacified

By what you're scared to lose

And I won't efface myself

So I can be like you

Go fix yourself

Instead of someone else

Go fix yourself

Instead of someone else

Go fix yourself

Instead of someone else

Go fix yourself

Tsurugaoka Hachimanguu shrine (鶴岡八幡宮) was originally founded in 1063 by Minamoto no Yoriyoshi (源頼義 988 - 1075) who engaged in a war to pacify northeastern Honshuu island. He requested Iwashimizu Hachimanguu (石清水八幡宮) in Kyoto to impart its deity to protect the Minamoto clan in Kamakura.

Hachimanshin or Yahata no Kami (八幡神) is a shinto god of war; therefore it has been worshiped by those who are involved in the military service.

It was moved to the current location of Tsurugaoka in 1180 as part of the planning of a military base (shogunate) when Minamoto no Yoritomo (源頼朝 1147 - 1199) moved in to Kamakura.

It was rebuilt after a fire in 1191 and has been rebuilt a few times afterwards.

Most of the existing structures were built in 1828 by the Tokugawa shogunate. The red building as seen in the photo is Roumon gate (楼門). The main shrine is hidden behind Roumon, which is called Honguu (本宮).
