Its always nice to find a unique photo position at big heritage events. After about an hour of waging war on the fast growing vegetation, I was able to just barely photograph 23 058 climbing the famed Geislinger Steige. Even with the camera held over my head a few annoying green leads remain but that was more than enough gardening for the day. A big thanks to the Ulmer Eisenbahnfreunden for the great event!
Es ist immer schön ein einzigartige Fotostelle bei Großveranstaltungen zu finden. Nach ein gute stunde in Kampf gegen der schnell gewaschenen Umkraut und Büsche, konnte ich mit Kamera hoch gehalten der 23 058 auf der erste Pendelfahrt des Tag erwischen. Ein paar grünen Ärgernisse bleibt aber das war genügend Gartenarbeit für der Tag. Danke an der UEF für der tolle Veranstaltung! Geislingen an der Stiege 09.07.22

Henry van de Velde is one of the most famous, if not the most famous architect in our country in this respect. The restoration of the Ghent book tower was recently completed; a recommendation for architecture lovers/photgraphers.

In het interbellum rees op de top van de Blandijnberg een nieuw bibliotheekgebouw dat alle andere facetten van het bibliotheekleven in de schaduw zou zetten.
Boekentoren, ca. 1950
In volle oorlogstijd verhuisde de bibliotheek van de Ottogracht naar de Blandijn, van een uitgeleefd abdijcomplex naar een nog onafgewerkte toren van glas en beton. De voorgeschiedenis, het ontwerp en de bouw van de Boekentoren zouden meer dan twintig jaar aanslepen. De hele onderneming werd door architect Henry van de Velde ‘een ware lijdensweg’ genoemd en bracht zijn bureau ‘aan de rand van de ruïne’. Pas in 1960 kon de verhuisperiode afgesloten worden.

Op 15 oktober 1942 opende de Boekentoren voor het eerst de deuren. De nog onvoltooide universiteitsbibliotheek groeide uit tot het 'panorama van Gent' en de vierde toren van de stad. Sinds 1 juli 1992 is de Boekentoren een beschermd monument. Zijn betonnen modernisme en tot de verbeelding sprekende belvedère, die de toren bekroont, hebben het gebouw de afgelopen decennia een iconische status verleend.

........ Schnee ist, hier bei uns, angekommen :))
Ich empfinde gerade den ersten Schnee des Jahres immer als ganz besonders schön......und wenn dann auch noch ein paar Blüten im Garten zu finden sind, erst recht.

Für ein paar hübsche Schneebilder zog es mich am 26.12.2020 in die Berge. Auf der Pendenzen Liste stand die BLM schon lange, gerade weil die alten Triebwagen in den kommenden Jahren durch neu bestellte Stadler-Fahrzeuge ersetzt werden. Ein ganzer Tag an der nur 4km langen Strecke würde den Bedarf an schönen Bildern rasch decken, nur leider machten mir die Wolken einen dicken Strich durch die Rechnung. Dennoch klappten ein paar wenige Winterbilder wie dieses hier mit Be 4/4 31, der 2010 von der ASM übernommen wurde. Das Foto zeigt den Triebwagen kurz vor der Station Winteregg auf dem Weg nach Mürren.

Die Miniwelt ist ein Miniaturpark in Lichtenstein, der im Juli 1999 eröffnet wurde und seitdem über 1,5 Million Besucher hatte. Der Park bietet auf einer Fläche von über 40.000 m² Miniaturmodelle von berühmten Bauwerken weltweit in einem Maßstab von 1:25.
Bei uns in Deutschland können wir den Zaunkönig auch im Winter beobachten.
Da der Zaunkönig meistens im Unterholz unterwegs ist, und fast nie ruhig sitzen bleibt, kann man ihn schlecht fotografieren.
Dieser hatte jedoch (mit einigen Unterbrechungen) sehr lange in einem, mit Schilf bewachsenen Bach gebadet, so dass mir ein paar Fotos gelangen.

Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich an dieser Stelle öfter Fotos gemacht. Doch in letzter Zeit wurden in Sichtweite viele Windräder gebaut, so dass die Stimmung zerstört wird, nur bei Nebel wenn die Windräder nicht zu sehen sind ist das fotografieren noch möglich.
Ich hoffe das der Frost der letzten Tage die hoffentlich letzten Zeichen des Winters waren, deshalb hab ich noch dieses Foto geschossen.
A few years ago, I used to take photos at this point. But lately many wind turbines have been built within sight, so that the atmosphere is destroyed, only in fog when the wind turbines are not visible is it still possible to take pictures.
I hope that the frost of the last few days were the hopefully last signs of winter, that's why I took this photo.

Two independent photo's merged and converted to B&W. This gives the better representation of the frozen landscape at Meerdael.
Seit einigen Tagen ist bereits ein interessantes Sandwich der WFL auf dem RE 80 zwischen Treuchtlingen und Würzburg unterwegs. In Richtung Würzburg zieht 112 131 die 2 Mittelwagen und den anscheinen defekten Steuerwagen (50 80 36-39 049-8). 114 035 schiebt in diese Richtung. Wie der Zufall es wollte, führte mein Weg an diesem Abend nach Treuchtlingen in die bekannte Fotokurve, wo dann mit ein paar weiteren Fotografen diese schicke Garnitur abgelichtet wurde.
Mit fabrikneuen Autos der Audi AG sowie ein paar wenigen Kesselwagen am Zugende konnte 152 018-8 in der bekannten Kurve zwischen Breitenfurt und Dollnstein im Altmühltal fotografiert werden.
With brand new cars from Audi AG and a few tank cars at the end of the train, 152 018-8 could be photographed in the well-known curve between Breitenfurt and Dollnstein in the Altmühl Valley.
Was aussieht wie ein Formationsflug von Seeadler und Milan, täuscht.
Der Milan will den Seeadler als Narungskonkurrent aus seinem Revier vertreiben.

Procida is the smallest island of the Gulf of Naples; it is rich in attractions and archaeology. From the ground floor of Napoli Centro train station, you can take the metro to station Pozzuoli then get off and take the ferry at the port of Pozzuoli. The architecture of Procida has a Greek origin. In fact, the history of Procida is concentrated first of all on the medieval village “Terra Murata” and on “Corricella”, the fishing settlement. The island has served as the set for numerous films, such as The “Postman”, and some scenes in “The Talented Mr. Ripley” were shot on Corricella. The landmarks of Procida reflect typical Mediterranean pastel colours. Procida offers simply cooking and at least 10 excellent restaurants with plain cooking based on fresh fish. This simple style never fails, thanks to the 20 local fishing boats. The specialties of the cooking are: stewed rabbit (which goes back to the Borbonen who came on Procida to hunt the wild rabbit) and spaghetti with sea-urchin. Procida has 6 beaches with crystal-clear waters. Spent some relaxing days on this wonderful island. Experience the real Italy, lovely people, great views, great sand and great food.
The best way to get to procida is travelling to Pozzuoli first, beautiful as well as other districts of Naples, by train where you will find marina with ferries. Met de veerboot naar Procida passeren het schierieland Miseno met de prachtige vuurtoren. Capo Miseno kijkt uit over de mosselbanken bij het naderen van Porto Miseno. Procida is het kleinste eiland van de Golf van Napels; het is rijk aan attracties en archeologie. Vanaf de begane grond van treinstation Napoli Centro kunt u de metro naar station Pozzuoli nemen, uitstappen en de veerboot nemen in de haven van Pozzuoli. De architectuur van Procida heeft een Griekse oorsprong. In feite is de geschiedenis van Procida allereerst geconcentreerd op het middeleeuwse dorp "Terra Murata" en op "Corricella", de vissersnederzetting. Am 3. Januar 1995 steht 099 737 der Deutschen Bahn AG mit dem letzten Zug des Tages nach Kurort Oberwiesenthal für ein paar Minuten im Bahnhof Neudorf/Erzgebirge. Bei -16°C entwich mehr Dampf aus allen möglichen Verbindungen, als es dem frierenden Fotograf lieb war. In Schwarzweiß kommt die Atmosphäre am schönsten zur Geltung.
On January 3, 1995, Deutsche Bahn AG 099 737 with the last train of the day to the spa town of Oberwiesenthal stood for a few minutes at Neudorf/Erzgebirge station. At -16°C, more steam escaped from all sorts of connections and fittings than the freezing photographer would have liked. The atmosphere is best expressed in black and white.
Bei uns am See gibt es diese "Piratenschlucht". Als meine Tochter klein war, klang es besser als "am Ende des Sees", :D Heute war ich kurz da, weil ich mir einbildete, das Licht wäre toll, um die Stelle abzulichten. War´s nicht ....
Zu grell. Aber ab und zu zogen Wolken vorbei und ließen immer nur Restlicht durch. Während ich so wartete sah ich mich in der Gegend um und fand dieses Schilffeld. Dazwischen 4-5 Grasblüten. Der Wind war böig und ich musste noch länger warten. Irgendwann war es so weit und ich konnte ein paar Aufnahmen machen. Es sind nicht viele etwas geworden, weil die Widrigkeiten einfach schwer waren. Aber letztendlich hat´s doch geklappt. Also, man kann noch so viel planen, manchmal muss man Plan B nehmen. :)
Heute sind wir so schön, dass wir uns nur noch gegen Cash in der Öffentlichkeit zeigen!
