Spent some time over the last week on this ExactRail Gunderson woodchip car. It was an undecorated kit that has been sitting under the layout for some time so I decided it was way past time to haul it out and put it into service on my Pacific Western. I assembled, painted, decaled and weathered the car. Initial paint job was done with a rattle can and then weathering was done with a combination of airbrush and AK Interactive weathering pencils.

Something a little different from me - some underwater stuff.
Strobist: 580ex II above surface on monopod, triggered with PW. Another 580ex to the right (I think the batteries in its PW were dead at this stage..)

Finally finished this patch job for my Pacific Western. It is a Tangent PS4740 Norfolk and Western car. I weathered it with AK washes and AK weathering pencils. I patched out the Norfolk and Western lettering but left the patch light in some parts to give a hint of the cars heritage

The crew of 1470 have spotted the locomotive in a customers spur and will shortly switch some cars, but important things first. You will notice that they are not in the cab. That's because they are in the shed behind the locomotive. All Pacific Western crews know that the Maintenance Foreman at this site, that's whose shed it is, always has hot coffee on the stove and some of his wife's delicious, fresh biscuits on hand which he is not adverse to sharing.
Meanwhile, local landholder, grain producer and closet railfan Tom Hannigan, has stopped by to take a look at proceedings, probably hoping for a ride in the locomotive during the switching operations. Not that he likes trains you understand, it's just he's interested in things mechanical.
Over in the background Billy Bob is taking the opportunity to have a nap while the Foreman is hosting the crew with coffee and biscuits. Billy Bob is well known for his ability to sleep in any bed, even it is the bed of a pickup. I'm sure the crew of 1470 will have great delight in rousing him with a blast from the horn, once they finish up all the biscuits.
