View from the park after sundown with a thanks to Jimi Hendrix for the words. HFF to all!

An enormous field full of red campion on a very windy evening.

Sunrise over our street just over a year ago, Happy Smile on Saturday!

"Human activity such as pollutants can also enhance the colors at sunrise and sunset. Larger amount of pollution higher up in the atmosphere increases the amount of scattering of particles. Other weather phenomena, such as Saharan dust, volcanic chemicals, and wildfire smoke, also increase the number of particles available in the atmosphere. Similar to pollutants, the increase in particles can provide increased chances of scattering which could lead to more vivid sunrise and sunsets."

Purple haze all in my brain

Lately things, they don't seem the same

Acting funny, but I don't know why

'Scuse me while I kiss the sky

Some dear friends call me Haze, instead of Hazel

My husband had the idea of gathering some hazelnuts from under the hazel trees near our stream. They are a bit wobbly to 'write' with which suits me fine.........

I'm also thinking of chocolate and hazel nuts.

And squirrels who missed these ones.

And my background for Haze had to be purple.

Smile on Saturday...! My name is.......

Most of the sunsets I photographed on the island of Koh Lanta produced blazing reds and yellows. This purple hued sundown was unusual.

Location: Historic Gastown

Building: Leckie Building

The lights and colours are constantly changing on this building in shades of red, purple and blue.

The Leckie Building is a massive cubic seven-storey Edwardian era warehouse/factory building located at the southeast corner of Cambie and Water Street in the historic district of Gastown. Built in 1908 and a large addition to the east was constructed in 1913. Exterior: brick and granite. Internal structure: built of massive timber elements.

Gastown is the historic core of Vancouver, and is the city's earliest, most historic area of commercial buildings and warehouses.

The Leckie Building is representative of the importance of Gastown as the trans-shipment point between the terminus of the railway and Pacific shipping routes, and the consequent expansion of Vancouver into western Canada's predominant commercial centre in the early 20th centuryGastown is the original settlement that became the core of the creation of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Currently, it is a national historic site and a neighbourhood in the northwest end of Downtown Eastside, adjacent to Downtown Vancouver.

Its historical boundaries were the waterfront (now Water Street and the CPR tracks), Columbia Street, Hastings Street, and Cambie Street, which were the borders of the 1870 townsite survey, the proper name and postal address of which was Granville, B.I. ("Burrard Inlet"). The official boundary[citation needed] does not include most of Hastings Street except for the Woodward's and Dominion Buildings, and stretches east past Columbia St., to the laneway running parallel to the west side of Main Street.

Fleet Pond, Capturing this incredible sky was something to behold, found out later on the reason for the intense colours was due to the Sahara dust cloud that swept over the UK.

Colourful reflections

A dung beetle, common in our woods. I never looked at it as close. The face of this beetle is shovel like, to push its dung balls around. And the purple fringes are striking! Macro photography of insects in the wild is challenging, and very rewarding.

The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Huntington Beach, California is an approximately 1,500 acre coastal estuary. Habitats include open water, mudflats, salt marsh, coastal dunes, seabird nesting islands, riparian, and freshwater marsh. More than 200 avian species have been identified at Bolsa Chica and the reserve is very popular with birders and photographers.

The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is one of the largest remaining saltwater marshes along the California coast. At nearly 1,500 acres, these local wetlands are a critical habitat for endangered and threatened species, as well as a nursery and year-round home for many species of aquatic creatures and fish.

"Malacca Street Outing"

Yesterday I spent the day at the Olympic Park, Stratford in London with some friends from my camera club. This was taken in a wild flower garden there.

The sky has been kissed......

I am a bit short of time and of ideas to decide what to post now, so before starting a new series I will post a few analog pictures.

This was shot in July 2000, it is a scanned 9cm x 13cm printed picture, made with my good old Minolta SRT-303 dated 1975...

Purple haze over London on Christmas Eve as seen from Hutong restaurant at the Shard.
