Enjoying a few lazy days at the sitter’s while daddy is away working. [Photo by Debbie F. | Edit by PEEJ0E]
I hope that I can sleep tonight after drinking this delicious coffee earlier. I hope that all of my friends here on Flickr are doing well! I’m sorry that I’ve been away lately, and hope to catch up with you all soon.
I participated in a COVID-19 mental health self-assessment on the Canadian Wellness Portal and it suggested that I was “mildly distressed” but coping well. I can agree with that. However, the accumulating snow this morning does not help matters much.
The grandeur and scale of the Great Wall snaking across the hills - a highlight of this trip.
From our lunch stop, we travelled to the Great Wall at Mutianyu.
We had to stop for over an hour at one point in the drive when the road was blocked by an accident. I hope that nobody was too badly hurt.
Just when it seemed that we would have to abandon our visit to the Great Wall, the road cleared and we went on. Being late in the afternoon now, all of the other tours visiting this site were returning to their buses, leaving us on our own to explore.
Such was the scale of the Wall, our Group scattered and I felt as if I was the only one there. In combination with the clear weather and the beautiful late afternoon light, the experience was magical and awe inspiring.

Phone 4 - Photograph taken with the camera on an iPhone 4.
Camera - The native camera app was used with the HDR option.
Filterstorm - Opened the photograph in the native Photos app on my iPad3. Copied the image, opened the Filterstorm app, pasted the contents of the clipboard, and saved a copy of the image to the Camera Roll. This manoeuvre simplified the subsequent processing by having this copy as the most recent image in the Camera Roll.
Snapseed - Image straightened.
Frontview - Trapezoidal crop applied to change the apparent perspective.
Snapseed - Structure and Ambience filters applied. Overall lighting adjustments carried out.
Photo fx - Color-Grad "Cool Blue" filter applied.
Superimpose - Produced a mask for the sky region using the Magic Wand tool. Blended the Photo fx output with the Snapseed output to isolate the addition of blue color to the sky region.
Photoshop Express - Noise reduction and Sharpening filters applied with manual settings.
Snapseed - Some final small overall lighting adjustments applied.
ExifEditor - EXIF data from the original photograph transferred to the final image.

iPhone photo and edit
For some reason I love this image and keep going back to look at it. Lately I've been enjoying looking at lines and contrast and I guess thats why. Edited with snapseed and PSExpress.
