Had a little photo session to experiment with my camera and start getting a better grasp on what each setting does and when to use it. I figured a good subject would be my PS3 remote that I received today that I had painted by Colorware. Since I was playing around for a good half hour, I figured I might as well post one of the best from the shoot.
Based on the picture the birthday boy sent me, this is a plain sponge cake with jam & buttercream! Now you can play with your food!

EEEBOX running Ubuntu is there to serve DLNA services to the PS3. The PS3 is the center of the home entertainment setup.
Sony released a firmware update to the PS3 yesterday, and the change notes mentioned support for USB cameras that met a certain profile.
I barely use my Xbox 360 Live Camera, so I plugged it in and what do you know, it just works.
Sony's done a really good job allowing for existing standards on the PS3 - between the support for any bluetooth headset, the user swappable hard drive, USB standard mice and keyboards, standard USB mini cords to charge the controllers, and the media ports for CF/SD/MSP, it's been one of the things I'm happiest with on the PS3.
(Nabby provides the perfect model for such a test.)
