There is a restaurant in California near LAX called the Proud Bird. This photo reminds me of that place. I ate there many times and had a lot of business meetings there years ago.

Cushion from the Mayor's parlour in the Town Hall.

This is a 3D image. You will need your red/cyan 3D glasses to get the effect. Remember that the red lens goes over the left eye!

(Nice Large)

Well my Flickr friends, I believe both of the Pileated woodpecker young I have been watching have now successfully left the nest. I visited it this morning for nearly an hour and saw no signs of activity at all. Kind of a weird feeling for me, as I had really grown to love my daily encounters with this family of woodpeckers. I walked about a third of the park looking for them. I didn't see them, but heard their distinctive cry off in the distance. Not sure if it was parent or young, but I will keep looking for them, and hope to see them again. I read that fledgling pileateds sometimes stay with their parents for up to 3 months while the adults teach the young about the ways of their world. I wish them all the best.

super raddest new art show by Jake Longstreth just opened at Gregory Lind Gallery.

I think all of the paintings from the show are on Jake's website.

It's a pretty big deal.

The show looked so good.

Flying Adelaide to Sydney

The original "Proud American Infidel" placard was e-mailed to me by a contact on Windows Live Spaces, who claimed he created it for his website. I painted this one myself using PictureIt 7.0 .

I was encouraged to use it freely by the person who claims to have created it, so please feel free to use it yourself.

On my way home from the Laural Highlands I wanted to stop in Uniontown Pa for more pictures. I found the Fayette County Patriots getting ready for the T.E.A. Party. I joined in and met some wonderful people. It was a great event with a good turn out. The Mt. Carmel High Shool led us in the Pledge of Allegiance at the Couthouse and singing of the National Anthem at Story Square.
