Its sometimes hard to be a farmer,
Nice outside, but the next few days it will be tropical, Then the ladies stay inside, It's cooler there,
Then in the evening and night into the meadow.
It is no fun for humans and animals, that heat,
Only my Camel Josphine, enjoy the heat
and the drought is also becoming a problem again.
Hope the rain comes soon.

La sterne qui vole après le soleil...
Cette espèce détient le record de la plus grande distance parcourue lors de sa migration. Nichant en arctique et hivernant en antarctique, c'est un voyage de 70 000km par an qu'elle entreprend (le record connu étant de 81 600km).
Elle ne migre pas en ligne droite mais tire parti des ressources qu'elle peut trouver en chemin. Après la nidification, direction l'Atlantique nord et ses eaux riches en poissons, où elles feront une halte de quelques semaines. Direction ensuite Cap Vert. Là, une partie des sternes continue de suivre la côte africaine, alors que d'autres préfèrent traverser l'océan et suivre la côte d'Amérique du sud. Toutes iront jusqu'en Antarctique, où les longues journées leur permettront de se nourrir 24h/24. Elles y resteront de novembre à avril, avant de remonter vers le nord. Cette fois, elles ne longeront pas les côtes mais voleront au-dessus du grand large. Leur trajectoire peut être dessinée en formant un "S" dans l'océan Atlantique, ce qui leur permet de profiter des vents dominants et d'arriver plus vite à destination.

It is unbelievable, how careless the industry can be. They can easily destroy the most beautiful and pristine piece of coast for their explorations, and once the profits are gone, they just leave everything behind. This is an old coal mine terminal, that is left there.

SNCF 67424, Camjac (ligne Rodez - Albi), 13 Juin 2021.
La livrée dite "Corail +" est appliquée au matériel moteur Français à partir de 1995. Dans un premier temps, il est envisagé une livrée à base de rouge pour le matériel électrique, et avec une teinte bleue claire pour le matériel diesel. Seules deux machines, les 72006 et 67373 porteront finalement cette livrée prototype baptisée "Isabelle", avant qu'elle ne soit abandonnée pour ne conserver que les engins décorés de rouge. La livrée "Isabelle" disparaitra ainsi des rails Français avec la radiation de la 67373 en Décembre 2011. En Avril 2021, une troisième "Isabelle" voit le jour, avec la 67424, dont les bandes rouges de la livrée "Corail +" sont repeintes en bleu clair. La machine étant affectée à l'activité "InterCité", elle sera quasiment exclusivement employée à la traction du Paris - Rodez - Albi, sur sa partie terminale. La voici le 13 Juin 2021 non loin de Camjac, avec le W acheminant de Rodez à Albi la rame qui repartira en soirée vers la capitale. Il ne restait alors déjà plus que quelques week-ends pour profiter des BB67400 sur cette relation, avant l'introduction, fin Juin des BB75300...
Le mâle adulte a le dos gris-brun sombre, avec des liserés roux. Le croupion et la queue sont noirs. La queue présente une seule barre blanche médiane et l’extrémité est blanche. Les ailes sont de couleur fauve, avec les rémiges largement terminées de noir, surtout sur les primaires et les secondaires.
Les parties inférieures sont de couleur fauve, finement barrées de noirâtre depuis le haut de la poitrine jusqu’au bas de l’abdomen. Les couvertures sous-caudales sont fauve clair. La queue est de la même couleur dessus et dessous. L’envers des ailes est de couleur fauve. Les rémiges sont fauves, finement barrées de noirâtre, et largement bordées de noir.
Sur la tête, le front, la calotte et la nuque sont de couleur fauve. L’arrière du cou est strié. Le menton et la gorge sont fauve clair. Les joues sont gris chamoisé. La cire et les lores sont jaunes. L’extrémité du bec est noire. Les yeux sont jaune-roux. Les longues pattes et les serres sont jaune orangé.
Les deux sexes sont semblables, avec la femelle plus grande que le mâle.
Habitats
La buse roussâtre néotropicale fréquente les milieux ouverts : les savanes boisées, les lisières des forêts ou des marécages, les mangroves, les pâturages…
Nourriture
La buse roussâtre se nourrit d’une grande variété de proies : reptiles, oiseaux, petits mammifères, poissons, amphibiens, et même de grands insectes.
Reproduction
Le nid, construit dans un arbre isolé, reçoit un et plus rarement deux œufs, en général durant la saison des pluies. Après avoir quitté le nid, le jeune reste dépendant de ses parents de 4 à 7 mois.
Cette espèce suit souvent les feux de savanes et en profite pour chasser les animaux qui fuient les flammes.

Care Lochaber was set up in 1997 by a group of community-minded people. The group, originally called the Community Care Forum, had concerns over the lack of appropriate transport for people disadvantaged by poverty, age, disability, ill health and rural isolation. They established the Lochaber Community Car Scheme to help, and the service has now been running for twenty years.

No ropes or anchors would likely have been required to secure these lovely ladies to the dock, during the early January cold snap, These boats appeared well secured, and frozen into place.

Science World at Telus World of Science, is a science centre run by a not-for-profit organization.
This geodesic dome ( golf ball shaped ) building was constructed for Expo '86. It was opened in 1985 as the Expo preview center and became the Expo '86 World's Fair Centre.
The height is 155 feet tall with a foundation of reinforced steel in a cement slab.
The dome is supported by 182 piles
There are 391 lights and 766 triangles on the Science World dome.
Constructed using 15,000 pounds of extruded aluminium and aluminium panels on the dome. The panels are 1 mm thick and are covered with a vinyl surface.
Science World has a total building area of 10,220 square metres and a total exhibit area of 4,275 square metres. The building’s volume is 36,790 cubic metres.
The air-conditioning system uses chilled water for cooling and gas-fired boilers for heating.
The OMIMAX Theatre seats 400 people
The screen is 27 metres in diameter. The theatre’s sound system uses high-fidelity, six-channel, two-way sound with sub-bass to create an unparalleled surround sound experience.
I read that the 15,000 watt xenon lamp that lights the movie screen is so bright that if it was placed on the surface of the moon and focused it at a spot on Earth, you would actually see its light.
The dome in this image was lit in red in honor of Remembrance Day. Remembrance Day (sometimes known informally as Poppy Day) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

With a large train in tow the last Slingshot races west with 3 engines in tow that will now be used in Meadville. Future Falconer meets will now be for power moves or special occasions.
The 2017 Weekend at the Asylum which is likely the largest and longest running Steampunk Festival in the World. It is held in the historic uphill district of Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
Since 2009, the festival (or convivial in Steampunk parlance) has been held each year in Lincoln and currently stretches over multiple venues in the historic cathedral quarter of Lincoln town, Lincoln Castle and Bishop Grosseteste University. It is run as a not-for-profit event organised by the Victorian Steampunk Society.
For four glorious days the historic streets of Lincoln are thronged with thousands of splendidly dressed steampunks enjoying a festival which strives to combine art, literature, music, fashion, comedy and simple good fun.
The event contains programmes of features and entertainment, such as the Empire Ball, Majors Review (The Major's Soiree) and the National Tea Duelling final, along with lots of live music and comedy and the largest steampunk market in the World, the Bazaar Eclectica.

Northbound Acela #2254 passes the old Hoen Lithographers building at BIDDLE interlocking on the east side of Baltimore. The old building has been repurposed into a co-working space that serves a number of non-profits and other community organizations. Luckily, the look and feel of the building has preserved for future generations.
