"Maretak" is Dutch for mistletoe. Not an expert, but this specific species is probably named Viscum album.

Spotted near Valkenburg, Limburg, while hiking the Pieterpad long distance trail.

... but probably not for the nose? ;-))

Fruits of a stinking iris / Übelriechende Schwertlilie (Iris foetidissima)

in Botanical Garden, Frankfurt

It is known as "stinking" because some people find the smell of its leaves unpleasant when crushed or bruised, an odour that has been described as "beefy". (Wikipedia)

But who should crush Iris leaves?

Probably the last shot of winter for this year, my favourite season!

Probably the closest I could do on this shot being surround by 4 inches of mud from the melted snow.

So I named it Blue and stuck on You! It's a regular stick in the mud.

Happy Truck Thursday

Probably Australia's most iconic biscuit ever. A bit too sweet for me. For Macro Mondays, theme: biscuit. HMM

Probably the world's most famous bridge, the Ponte Vecchio was Florence's first bridge to cross the Arno River. Documents trace it back to the 10th century, though it's thought to date back to Roman times when the Via Cassia crossed the river here. Twice destroyed by floods, this incarnation was built in 1345. Shops have always been on the bridge; at first butchers, tanners, and food stalls, but today's shops sell jewelry, art, and souvenirs – they smell better.

A long-secret passage called the Vasari Corridor rests atop the bridge's shops. Medici ruler Grand Duke Cosimo I commissioned architect Giorgio Vasari in 1564 to design it to provide a safe way for the Duke to get from his Pitti Palace residence to his administrative offices across the river at the Vecchio Palace, nearly a kilometer away. (Its course snakes right through buildings, including the reknowned Uffizi gallery). And by the way, its entire length is lined with rare artworks (heavy on portraits).

I'm probably the bastard and most vicious of you, but when I face him, I'm the sweetest lamb in the flock. She knows how to turn the hate in me into something really good. I'm proud of the man I am and even more of the life companion she taught me to be. My devotion to her is complete, my soul will forever be faithful to her.

Thank you for dancing with my demons every day to make it such a beautiful choreography, I won't let anyone hurt you I swear. I love you. ♥ @Nay Mancini

After showing you a view of Sanssouci Park's Orangery Palace from the lawn in front of the stairs leading up to the Palace, I thought you might be interested in a view of the main level of the Orangery Palace building ensemble. There won't be any newer images from the Orangery Palace than the ones from my 2018 visit, because when I checked Sanssouci Park's website for some extra information about the Orangery, I learned that the entire place – the palace, the plant halls, and the adjacent areas – are closed for renovation. Work started in 2019 and will last until 2029 (!), so my 2018 visit was a lucky one. Unfortunately, I hadn't visited the Palace's interior back then, so that's definitely a missed opportunity because the interior will be redesigned as an event location. Everything according to heritage protection, I assume, because you don't mess with UNESCO World Heritage status, but it still will be different. The heritage protection is probably also the reason why the renovation takes so long.

For Sliders Sunday, I've chosen a postcard-style edit with a vintage look for this sunny scene. In a way, these photos are already vintage, especially in the light of the ongoing renovation. This also turns this image's five-year hard drive slumber into a short nap. This image had still been totally untouched (and quite a few more photos from that visit still are) because back then I couldn't see their potential. So I'm glad I'd finally decided to upload the "Green Arrow" (my previous image) because that made me take another look at the "Sanssouci 2018" folder. Btw, one thing I've only noticed now when looking at the photo, not when I took the photo, is the fellow photographer (I don't know him) ;) I also decided to leave the two persons on the bench in the image, because they are half hidden by the fountain, and I think they also add to the relaxed and happy atmosphere.

Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone!

Probably one on the most photographed tree in North Wales, Llyn Padarn, so maybe not the lone tree after all.

Probably won't get a 2020 shot, so one from last year...

Probably I would be too diverted by the landscape to read this book sitting in front of the window.

... probably a kind of long range effect of the devastating wildfires in British-Columbia in summer 2017 with a lots of smoke particles in the air which lead to this copper coloured sky and light ...

Probably the friendliest birds in the yard. This one is on its way to the bird bath.

Lowell Township, Michigan

Probably the most photographed tree in the yorkshire dales......

That probably fits better with today's weather.

There came a huge storm and we had for 3 days quite uncomfortable and stormy weather on the coast. But even in this weather a charming landscape. And there is no bad weather - only unsuitable clothing.

For me as a cloud junkie of course a nice time.

(probably M. adscendens a.k.a. the Frosty Bonnet)

As I have probably written before, architecture is a favorite subject for photography, at least for me. Whether it's an old temple, an arched bridge, an impressive skyscraper or just a random building that has something unique in it, most likely it will get my attention and I will stop to take a closer look and perhaps snap a photo. This structure here is an office building located at Boston's Seaport neighborhood. Modern architecture can be quite fascinating especially when different materials (such as glass, bricks, concrete) get mixed up with sharp edges and strong lines to produce something that sometimes may be a bit abstract. Like here for example. Looking at the glass panels and the reflected sky, the eye gets confused in regards to what it's seeing. Hats off to the architect!

Probably my best portrait ever made

Probably the worst pain I feel is the pain I make for myself.

Making mistakes since '94, you'd think I'd fucking learn sometime to unwind, to be less kind, to play the fool, to drop like a useless tool.

This is a made up diddy to help me feel pretty, please ignore, walk on, stand tall, continue to endure.

The monastery complex was built in the 11th century. Probably funded by Kazimierz the Restorer. The facilities were built of granite and limestone available in the area. The hill and buildings were surrounded by a stone wall and rebuilt many times. Another reconstruction was made in the 15th century, which gave the monastery and the church gothic features. The church and monastery are covered with stellar and crystal vaults.

Under the entire complex there is a group of cellars covered with rocker vaults. It is one of the best preserved underground rooms from the Romanesque era in Poland. Particularly noteworthy is the "lower church" with a stone Romanesque altar.

The interior of the "upper church" comes from the 18th century reconstruction and represents mainly the Rococo and Baroque styles.

Zespół klasztorny został zbudowany w XI wieku. Prawdopodobnie ufundowany przez Kazimierza Odnowiciela. Obiekty zostały wzniesione z granitu i wapienia dostępnego w okolicy. Wzgórze i budynki były otoczone kamiennym murem i wielokrotnie przebudowywano. W XV w. dokonano kolejnej rekonstrukcji, która nadała klasztorowi i kościołowi cechy gotyckie. Kościół i klasztor pokrywają gwiaździste i kryształowe sklepienia.

Wnętrze "górnego kościoła" pochodzi z okresu przebudowy XVIII w. i reprezentuje głównie styl rokokowy i barokowy.

I probably bored you with my 'stormy' captures. However, the snow fall continued all day yesterday, when this capture was taken. There was some snow fall overnight as well. Though today is cloudless and sunny, the temperature dipped today to near C -30. Although I can't resist taking such shots, I'm yearning for spring. Wish you all a warm day full of love...

It's probably just me but somehow this picture reminds me of the game/movies from Final Fantasy. I think it's the blade and hair color of my guy that's making the link. Or maybe some cover from a Playstation game! ( Yush i LOVE gaming :p)

By the way , when i finish a picture do i always doubt in using a specific tool in PS. Always hard to tell what's looking the best. I 'did' use it on this picture but will show you a link how it looked like 'before' i used it. Those who give the link a short look , please be so kind to share your thought? Would be such a great help!

Probably circa 1880 for John Bateman.Made of plastered cement blocks built on a raft which was used as a folly/bathing house but was probably going to be used as a lighthouse.Brightlingsea was going to be a port which did not materialize.

This Mandarin duck is probably my main photo model among the ducks in the park. Not only does he stay put when I point the camera at him, he even seems to enjoy posing for a photo. I suppose he knows how handsome and photogenic he is. :)

Probably the most impressive waterfalls I've seen to date. Amazing walk and so much to find, will be returning in the Autumn for sure.

probably every visitor to my photostream knows that I love kingfishers. This is an older image of a male Giant Kingfisher in Kafue NP, Zambia in November 2017.

Taken from a small boat on the Kafue River

The Giant Kingfisher is very large ( up to 45 cm or 18 inch ) and has a massive black bill.

Typically it hunts from a perched position next to rivers, lakes or lagoons but sometimes it can be seen hovering, a really impressive sight

Probably one of the most photographed, most tourist packed and most overrated locations in Norway, in my opinion.

We were leaving Lofoten when I took this picture. It was a brilliant sunset and I hadn't yet been able to take that "classic" Lofoten picture. When I saw this view here I just stopped and took some pictures, because OF COURSE I need to have something. I think it turned out very well.

My thoughts about Lofoten, well, it's not ideal for travelers who want to sleep in tents. Do yourself a favor and go there with an RV or something like that. Be prepared to not find any parking places, especially in Henningsvær for example. Reine was also full of people and we only found a free parking spot after six in the evening. Other people were parking along the main road but I wasn't brave like them. I already got stuck once on this trip.

I have to say I prefer southern Norway with its majestic fjords and valleys to Lofoten, but Lofoten definitely has a unique look and so, so many bridges.

Well, you guys are probably sick of Palouse shots for now, but I thought I'd upload another of mine that I initially passed by (I think I only uploaded 3 this season). I have many without sky, so I thought I'd give this one an edit. I really liked the shadows cast by the group of trees (small forest) and the light was some of the best of the season. It's pretty warm over-all as the light was breaking through some mist as it usually does out there in the spring at sunrise. Comments and critiques are very welcome. Thanks for looking! Chip

Due to more strict enforcement of their rules, Flickr has asked me and many others to take down info such as links to personal websites and workshop information. However, it is still allowed to have such information in one's Flickr Profile.

Probably THE most manipulated photo I have is this renaissance photo of Ruth. 6 more ways to see the rip in time as Ruth walks through the centuries.

Probably last of the different sparrows spotted and captured this year. This beautiful Harris's Sparrow with that unique black head and neck. A most unique sound!:

Probably the most beautiful of the seasons for the color palette

There probably will no big firework happening today. That’s why I'm taking recourse to a flower photograph what, with some fantasy (ok, lots of fantasy) is looking similar to one.

And with that I thank You all from the bottom of my heart for Your interest, the time You spend with my photos and Your warm and motivating comments.

I wish You a soft transition into the year 2022 and I'm looking forward to show You many more beautiful moments.

Probably the best known and most visited waterfall in Iceland. Gullfoss translated means "golden waterfall". It has a total height of 32 meters, which is divided into two steps ( 21 and 11 meters), where the water of the river Hvitá flows.

...probably won't be the last

Today it was probably the most beautiful photosession, my beloved fog, a great, soft light and I stood up in time :-)

Hope you like it as I do

Probably a slight exaggeration, but after all this is Echo Point in the highlands of Kerala. Kerala is a district in Southern India highly regarded for its beautiful natural wonders. This is only one area that delights people. To think that I almost did not include this in my itinerary.

The reason was that I had spent time in the highlands of Sri Lanka and thought nothing could surpass the glorious vistas and landscape of that area. Well, beware if your mind ever goes to that place. You just might miss an opportunity of a lifetime. I have never seen an area quite as beautiful as the hillsides and lakes of this paradise in India!

I was probably more surprised than this Pileated Woodpecker when it was suddenly right in front of me as I walked through a wooded area. It did stay there while I took a couple of close range photos and kept walking. A high ISO shot from the darkness of the tree canopy.

Thank you for viewing

This is probably the most colorful hill I ever saw in my life. The mix of oranges, greens and reds was fascinating and, with the late afternoon light, it looked resplandecent.

Probably a female Costa's checking out the flowers at Tohono Chul Park. I loved the pinks and oranges around her.

Tucson, Arizona

Probably my favourite capture from Richmond park, the stag wandering amongst the ferns, his antlers partly broken from fighting, but he still stands tall and proud in the morning mist ready to go again.

Probably because of the heath, the hexagons keep popping up …….. and so "Glow" was born ;-))

Happy Sliders Sunday everyone!!
