Port Melbourne, Victoria
Last weekend I headed down to Melbourne for the AFL Grand Final and caught up with my good mate Gav Owen. We shot Princes Pier for a sunrise with what was pretty good conditions, despite it being very chilly, but that's Melbourne.

Prince Darius's ceremonial robe is a waistband and twin panelled skirt with darts at the back self-lined. I had put a popper closing on that could slide under the waistband but I didn't like it sticking out so exchanged this for hidden elastic which sits flatter and, well, Darius is a guy and probably doesn't like fiddly closures...
This is a view of the old powder magazine at the PEI Battery site in Charlottetown. I believe this building was constructed in 1865. The following information was found at fortwiki.com:
"Originally known as Tartar's Wharf Battery and located at the foot of Great George Street. This battery was renamed Prince Edward Battery in 1799 and moved to a new battery site on Governor's Point in 1805. Originally armed with four 12-pounder cannons it was upgraded to four 18-pounders by the start of the War of 1812 and the site included a stockade and gunner's quarters. The battery was abandoned in 1855 when the guns were removed.
The battery was reactivated in 1865 in response to the Irish Fenian threat with three 9-pounder guns and a new masonry powder magazine. In 1866, three naval 32-pounder guns with ship style wooden carriages were added.
By 1883 the battery was described as "entirely useless" and it was rebuilt in the 1880s and 1890s with new gun platforms and renovated powder magazine. In the early 1900s the guns were upgraded to the already outdated 64-pounder RML guns. The battery was deactivated circa 1905"

According to a legend, (that is probably only a legend, since it can only be traced to the 16th century), Edward I promised the Welsh a prince "born in Wales and couldn't speak a word of English” ...his son, born here and only a baby...!
From that time, Caernarfon was used for the investiture of the Prince of Wales (exactly in this circle pulpit stone). The last one in 1969, with the investiture of Charles, Prince of Wales.
(his son William is Duke of Cambridge).
Buongiorno! How are you all?
Buon weekend! smacksss
