Conforme placas existentes na Igreja, a sua construção e inauguração ocorreram em 1892 por patrocínio de dona Virgilina Azevedo de Miranda, em pagamento de promessa. No inverno de 1974 (20 de abril), o templo foi quase totalmente destruido e, por iniciativa de Antônio Bona Neto (Antônio Músico), fazendo campanha de restauração, foi reinaugurada em 01/05/1976. O sino da Igreja também foi doado por dona Virgilina que mandou vir de Portugal, trazido até o Porto de União, no Rio Parnaíba e de lá até Campo Maior, em carro puxado a boi. O primeiro sinal “fúnebre” foi exatamente pela alma de dona Virgilina.

kirchlich registrierter Taufname Norma Jeane Baker; † 5. August 1962 in Brentwood, Los Angeles) war eine US-amerikanische Filmschauspielerin, Fotomodell, Sängerin und Filmproduzentin.

Sie wurde in den 1950er Jahren zum Weltstar, ist heute eine Filmikone und zählt zu den archetypischen Sexsymbolen des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Mit etwa 70 Arbeiten berühmter Fotografen (Eve Arnold / Magnum; George Barris; Bruno Bernard /

Bernard of Hollywood; Edmund Clark / Life Fotograf; Andre de Dienes; Elliott Erwitt / Magnum;

Arnold Newman; Lawrence Schiller; Sam Shaw; Bert Stern) wird das Leben der jungen Norma Jeane ab 1945 und ihre Verwandlung in Marilyn Monroe, eine der herausragendsten weiblichen Kultfiguren der Moderne, Popikone und Sexsymbol, deren Look bis zum heutigen Tag immer wieder nachgeahmt wird, dokumentiert.

Zu sehen sind z. T. sehr seltene Aufnahmen wie z. B. ein frühe Anzeige für eine Schokoladenreklame zum Valentinstag; Norma Jeanes erstes Titelfoto eines US Magazins (Romance), der berühmte „flying Skirt“ (von Elliott Erwitt und Bernard of Hollywood) zum Film „7 year itch“ und nahezu unbekannte sehr private Aufnahmen Arnold Newmans von Marilyn Monroe mit Carl Sandburg, sowie Bilder der legendären Poolszene von Lawrence Schiller.

Zur Ausstellung ist ein Katalog erschienen.
