Each of these doors caught my eye as I wandered through the winding streets of Verona, each one whispering its own story. I was drawn to the textures and colors that speak of age, character and quiet pride in craftsmanship. Capturing them together felt like stitching a patchwork of the city's soul into a single frame.

Another piece of artwork in Lefkada's lagoon. While the one I uploaded yesterday was showing clearly some hovering seagulls or something similar, I can't even imagine what these "doors" are supposed to be. But to be honest I don't really care as long as they look really cool in a photo!

and where the air opened,

for the moment, where

blazing windowlight

was all there was

to see, where what left

the body left an absence

that filled us with longing,

there a shadow fell,

a silence, a deep sorrow

we were numb to feel,

at first, but which now,

years later, we understand

we, too, will give to others

when we leave

The walls of Dubrovnik have many windows and portals showing views such as these.

I couldn't decide on which ones to put up, so I did them all as a montage.

A closer view of the mysterious "Upright deck chairs/doors/windows/what??" artwork in Lefkada's lagoon. As I've already said I don't care what it's supposed to be, since it makes some very interesting photos!

The exploration of alternative tools and methods to manipulate the colors, lines, and patterns of my photographs has also had an impact on the way I see when I'm out wandering with my camera. It also brought to mind a personal philosophy I have used during difficult times: If my physical, mental, or emotional states are unlivable, I need to change my point of view and move - physically, mentally, and/or emotionally - to see, think, and feel other possibilities for my time in this bag of bones.

Was delighted to revisit the Lower Portals in Mt Barney National Park in southern Queensland over Easter. It was my first visit in more than 25 years. It is about an 11-12km return walk and was very popular on this day but managed to get five minutes to take some photos without anyone in the water!
