Welcome to Shelly Point, tucked near the end of Beaumaris Beach from my previous post. I know you will want to try & count the number of shells on this part of the beach, so while you are at it, I'll keep myself amused with bad shell puns.

Shell we begin? 🐚

This shellfishly named stretch of beach left me thoroughly shell-shocked. I came for sand, but it must’ve been on vacayshell, replaced entirely by a million nautical nuggets in full clam_our, an army of calcium keepsakes.

It was a shell-ebration of ocean treasures. From conch-querors to scallop-stars, the entire mollusk mafia was out in force, clearly trying to mussel their way in.

Each step was a crunchy, dance across the shellscape, a total clam-ity for bare feet! Fortunately, I was shell-f sufficient and had joggers on.

There were shelltastic spirals, bivalve bonanzas, cockle clusters, barnacle bling and seashore sequins. It wasn’t just a beach walk, it was a shell-athon, and by the end I was left in absolute "shuck and awe".

How did you go? How many did you count? ;)

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to comment on my photos, they are greatly appreciated!

The Point Arena lighthouse is 115ft elevation from the ground. Their is 145 steps spiral staircase with 4 landings to get to the top of the lighthouse and is the tallest lighthouse on the west coast that is open to the public.

An image during blue hour at Cobbolds Point, Felixstowe. Conditions were pretty bland and missed the higher tide.

Spent an absolutely brilliant full day touring the lighthouses on Anglesey with great friend Mark Twiglet yesterday, starting at Penmon point for sunrise, which didnt deliver, but the high tide and stormy sky more than made up for it. A truly fab way to finish the year.

Bass Point is a headland in Australia on the New South Wales south coast. The point was named by Matthew Flinders in around 1800, after his friend and fellow explorer George Bass. Wikipedia.

Pointing to the sky... The Shard, London.

So this is the Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse (1875).

Located at Seal Rocks - just a little to the north of Sydney.

Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse stands on a dramatic headland east of Seal Rocks village. Completed in 1875, it is the first lighthouse designed by colonial architect James Barnet and one of only two towers in Australia with an external stairway.

It was originally built to guide ships along the rocky coastline to the north of Sydney, after a number of incidents, including the shipwrecking of the SS Catterthun and the SS Rainbow.

Below the lighthouse are the Lighthouse Keepers’ quarters and outbuildings that have been refurbished to offer holiday accommodation for visitors.

Neist Point is one of the most famous and popular sites on the Isle of Skye. With its steep cliffs and magnificent views, this trail makes for a great day out.

A location that has always been a favourite place since I was young.

The lighthouse was designed by Thomas Smith and Robert Stevenson and completed in 1797.

Many thanks for your visits, kind comments and faves, very much appreciated.

Plum Point , Newburgh, NY

I am doing a series on paths along the Hudson. The trees are old and historic. This area was very active during the Revolutionary War. Washington was in Newburgh for 18 months at the end of the war. West Point was about 15 miles south of Newburgh, and there was a lot of communications and messages between Washington and West Point. This might have been one of the paths used by messengers. To me, this path feels magical. I am trying to convey the sense and feeling of the area.

Took a ride south yesterday and visited here for abit. Not the ice like last winter. It was like 18* and the wind was RAW off Lake MI.
