Today I installed a PMS (Pickup Mounting System) from FU Tone in my Les Paul CM. Dig the Resomax bridge with adjustable saddles.

So here's how it works. You screw a piece of brass into the floor of the pickup rout. That center hole is for a spacer. They provide four sizes for adjusting pickup height. So you put one in, screw the pickup into the holes on the far sides where the pickup would normally attach to the ring, and you've got a pickup hard-mounted onto a brass mount.

Now then, this is probably the best pickup mounting solution I've ever tried, but $50 for a brass bar and some screws and spacers seems out of line to me. Of course, I'm cheap.
