Plentiful seagulls seen flying in windy conditions around Pacific Grove. It's funny how they seem to be flying in place. This was during our spontaneous outing to Monterey and Pacific Grove, CA. I went with my cousin at the time. Why did we go on this outing? It was my day off of work so we wanted to take advantage of it…
*Our outing in a nutshell: We 1st walked around Pacific Grove, CA along Ocean View Blvd to take in the beautiful scenic views by the sea. Then around midday, we walked to the Monterey Cannery Row from Pacific Grove (we parked along the Ocean View Blvd since parking was free; parking fees are expensive around the surrounding areas). We had our lunch at the Fish Hopper around 1:30 p.m. We got fish and chips, fried calamari and a clam chowder bread bowl. We had like the best view. Our table was right by the entrance and we got a picturesque view of the Monterey Bay. After lunchtime, we walked up and down the cannery row and did some window-shopping. Then we walked back to Pacific Grove, taking in last minute views before going back into the car. It was pretty windy and chilly out. We even planned to head to a different location to hike but we just ended up driving up to just the northern part of Pacific Grove (the spot where we see sunsets) and just chilled in the car while enjoying the views of the ocean and while waiting for the sunset. We did get out (and braved the cold, windy weather) and took some last-minute pics down around the tidepools before finally ending our trip with an ‘ok’ sunset (sun didn’t touch the horizon unfortunately). Brrrr, we then turned on the heater full blast while beginning our road trip back home. I had to stop by Home Depot in Seaside, CA for some last minute ‘essential shopping’ lol. This was a nice mini Monday getaway we had. ‘Til next time, safe travels everyone!

This is a photograph from the second annual running of The Downs National School Valentines 5KM Road Race and Fun run which was held at The Downs GAA club, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath on Sunday February 9th 2013 at 12:00. The race was held as a fundraiser for the Downs National School. This is a very important fundraiser for the Downs National School new building project and the parents, teachers, and friends of the Downs National School and the neighbouring community are to be congratulated with the fabulous road race and social event that they organised. There was a great family atmosphere at the event and there was a very plentiful spread of refreshments afterwards in the Clubhouse. The event has grown strongly in it's second year. Community spirit was very evident. The Downs is part of the geographically very large parish of Kinnegad, Coralstown, and Clonard and there were many local participants from the parish. Well over 400 people took part in the event. The stormy wet weather of late cleared off. Whilst there was a strong headwind on the course for the final kilometer all in all the weather was very suitable for running.
The Downs is situated just off the M4 between Kinnegad and Mullingar and is accessed from Junction/Exit 14 on the M4 and following the R156.
The race starts on the Cloghan road (this is about 1KM from the GAA Clubhouse) and proceeds clock-wise around a circuit which takes in the main Killucan road. The race passes by the finish/race-hq on it's first loop. The road surface is a mixture of standard tarmacadam and gravel trail around by the forestry. Overall, the course is flat with just two very small hills for runners to content with. The course was very accurately measured and well marshalled.
The race is Athletics Association of Ireland approved. Timing was provided by Precision Timing who, as always, provided excellent timing and event management services on their day. Their website (with results from today's race) is available at: www.precisiontiming.net/result/racetimer

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

Lawyers were plentiful on the ground in Lancaster, OH, I'm told. It's my assumption that many of them lived on this beautiful street with its grand houses and accompanying grand fences.
The Downs GAA Valentines 5KM Road Race and Fun run was held at The Downs GAA club, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath on Sunday February 10th 2013 at 12:00. The race was held as a fundraiser for the Downs National School. The parents, teachers, and friends of the Downs National School and the neighbouring community are to be congratulated with the fabulous road race and social event that they organised. There was a great family atmosphere at the event and there was a very plentiful spread of refreshments afterwards in the Clubhouse.
The race starts on the Cloghan road and proceeds clock-wise around a circuit which takes in the main Killucan road. The road surface is a mixture of standard tarmacadam and gravel trail around by the forestry. Overall, the course is flat with just two very small hills for runners to content with. This road race was the same course as that which was held in June 2012.

Slam dunks and 3-pointers were plentiful as the boys' varsity basketball team opened their season at home with a resounding 105-49 victory over the St Michael's Varsity Blue Raiders at Axel Forslund Gymnasium on November 11, 2017. Photography by Glenn Minshall.
Best Chirashi I had! Plentiful and fresh! Cafe Michi is really a small little place in a quiet plaza. I discovered this place from another local Flickr user (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ste823/) and had to try for myself as well!

Food was plentiful at Ellis Island, despite various opinions as to its quality. A typical meal served in the dining hall might include beef stew, potatoes, bread and herring (a very cheap fish); or baked beans and stewed prunes. Immigrants were introduced to new foods, such as bananas, sandwiches and ice cream, as well as unfamiliar preparations. To meet the special dietary requirements of Jewish immigrants, a kosher kitchen was built in 1911. Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park is a state park of California, USA, preserving mainly forest and riparian areas in the watershed of the San Lorenzo River, including a grove of old-growth coast redwood. It is located in Santa Cruz County, primarily in the area between the cities of Santa Cruz and Scotts Valley, near the community of Felton and the University of California at Santa Cruz. The park includes a non-contiguous extension in the Fall Creek area north of Felton. The 4,623-acre (1,871 ha) park was established in 1954.
The main park covers approximately 1,750 acres (7.1 km2), and the separate Fall Creek (not to be confused with the Fall Creek farther north in San Mateo County) unit contains an additional 2,390 acres (9.7 km2). The park lies within the southern end of the Northern California coastal forests ecoregion. In the numerous stream canyons live large populations of coast redwood, coast Douglas fir, California bay laurel, tanbark oak, California hazelnut, bigleaf maple and many other native species.
Up-slope from the redwood forest are found transitional tree species such as Pacific madrone, along with a stand of Ponderosa pine, rare at such a low elevation. Some of the highest and driest ridge slopes in the park support fairly unusual chaparral communities known as "elfin forests" in addition to the rare and unique Santa Cruz Sandhills community. The old-growth grove of coast redwood, approximately 40 acres (16 ha) in size, is located entirely in the original section of the park, surrounded by many species of fern and plentiful redwood sorrel. Surrounding areas, including the non-contiguous Fall Creek unit, were logged extensively in the mid-to-late 1800s for lumber and as fuel for the many lime kilns that used to operate in the area, such as the ones preserved at nearby Cowell Lime Works. Logging activities mostly ceased by the 1920s, and the second growth redwoods are now up to several feet in diameter.

A fiery, early-autumn sunset on the first day of October 2013 with plentiful high clouds/aged chemtrails. The Bay Area hasn't seen these skies lately so it was a stunner to see...it's a nice beginning to a new month. This was viewed from San Jose, CA up at The Point Church. Interesting fact: Canada Geese are so plentiful these days and love to inhabit golf courses leaving behind a very messy reminder of their presence. Many golf courses and airports in Vancouver employ specially trained Border Collies to go out every morning and remind these geese to move on to where they are more welcome...

You wouldn't know it to look around today, but the Canada Goose was once an uncommon bird. In particular, the subspecies known as the giant Canada Goose was considered extinct until a few remnant populations were discovered in the early 1960's. Over-hunting and destruction of wetlands had driven them to the brink. Improved game management practices and extensive re-introduction programs were begun to stabilize the subspecies and today it is doing fine. Originally a North American bird, the Canada Goose has also been transplanted successfully to Britain and Scandinavia. A 1991 census recorded 63,581 in the United Kingdom.
Depending on who you talk to, there are up to eleven subspecies of Canada Goose. The largest is the giant, with a wingspan of 6 feet and weighing up to 24 pounds. Among North American waterfowl, only the swans are larger. The smallest subspecies is the so-called "cackling" goose, which weighs only 2-4 pounds. The giant Canada Goose is native to the Great Plains. It is unique in being non-migratory, at least in comparison to the other subspecies. The other subspecies nest from southern Canada up to the high Arctic tundra, and travel long distances in their annual migration. If the winter is mild, the giant may not leave its nesting area at all.
When they do travel, Canada Geese stay in family groups. The parents fly with the young of the year. If you watch a large flock of geese come in for a landing, you can often see the different family units peel off in smaller clusters before they alight.
The family bond begins at the nest. Canada Geese mate for life. In Kansas, they begin to build their nest as early as mid-March. The nest is a large mound of vegetation such as grass and cattail stems lined with down. It is usually located within sight of water.
4 to 7 eggs make up a typical clutch and incubation is done solely by the female. The male (gander) zealously guards the nest and will attack any intruders. Incubation takes 25 to 30 days and the goslings are led to water within a day after hatching.
Canada Geese are very vocal creatures and their language is not hard to pick up if you pay close attention. Aside from vocalizations, geese have a whole vocabulary of "body language" that is very interesting to observe also.
The gander has a slower, low-pitched "ahonk" while the goose's voice is a much quicker and higher-pitched "hink". Mated pairs will greet each other by alternating their calls so rapidly that it seems like only one is talking. A careful ear will be able to put each voice with its rightful owner, which is mighty helpful since the male and female look alike.
The goslings have a wheezy soft call that may be either in distinct parts - "wheep-wheep-wheep" - or a drawn out whinny - "wheee-oow". Anyone who has raised domestic geese will immediately recognize these calls. Just as in adolescent people, when the voice changes as the goose matures it will often "crack" and sound like a cross between a honk and a wheeze. This will be noticeable when the goslings are becoming fully feathered and starting to show the distinct black and white adult coloration.
Loud, rapid calls will be made when geese are feeling threatened or excited. During territorial disputes or aggressive displays, some "bad grammar" will often be heard. When a flock gets ready to take off and fly away, they will usually all join in a raucous chorus. And a whole flock of geese makes quite a racket!

The late summer sun slowly setting behind plentiful clouds out west. These approaching clouds were actually associated by a slowly nearing low pressure system... The weather for our area this day was again sunny to partly cloudy. However, things were to change by the very next day (Wednesday) as a low pressure area currently to our west moves toward the coast. This system was to reach the coast Wednesday and then be over Northern California Thursday. The weather during that time would be partly cloudy to cloudy with even, believe it or not, scattered showers over the foothills and mountains and a chance of showers in the valley. Temps will be a little cooler on Thursday. The low won’t be able to move eastward due to a large strong high pressure ridge to our east. Therefore, it would sink slowly southward over southern California by Friday and Saturday. Pic taken from up at The Point Church in San Jose, CA. England is delightful. Inspiration is plentiful.The old buildings, manor houses and churches are a constant source of inspiration that I have captured in my own special and unique way. Enjoy them . These birds were plentiful on Peninsula Valdes. With roadrunner-like characteristics, I think they are beautiful and fascinating.

Eastern Tiger Swallowtails are plentiful this year. This male was visiting the Lantana blossoms in the hanging basket on our front porch.
"Females can be either yellow or black. Black form females are similar to the other dark swallowtails. The Jersey Shore becomes a haven for the American Bald Eagle
Bald eagles were once plentiful in New Jersey and Ocean County. But by 1982, there was only one known nest and that nest had failed for 8 successive years. A group of scientists in the Endangered and Non-Game Species Program (ENSP) of the New Jersey Fish, Game and Wildlife department decided to do something about it. Through dedication, the ENSP re-introduced Bald Eagles into New Jersey.
New Jersey's eagles, which reached a record population of 333 birds and 82 eagle pairs actively laying eggs according to an annual report released by the state in 2011 is evidence of a comeback.
That's a dramatic increase from 30 years ago, when only one nest remained in the state - with New Jersey's population of Eagles nearly wiped out by habitat loss, human disturbance and the widespread use of the pesticide DDT.
Since 1982, the state has monitored the bald eagle population. The data that they have collected has provided important information about the health of the Eagles and the health of the environment. Also, the data has been used to protect critical habitat for Bald Eagles.
Swimming River Reservoir
The Swimming River Reservoir is a reservoir and water treatment plant in Monmouth County, New Jersey. It is located on the border of Colts Neck and Lincroft. The Swimming River ends up in the reservoir, as well as other small tributaries.
This is a photograph from the second annual running of The Downs National School Valentines 5KM Road Race and Fun run which was held at The Downs GAA club, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath on Sunday February 9th 2013 at 12:00. The race was held as a fundraiser for the Downs National School. This is a very important fundraiser for the Downs National School new building project and the parents, teachers, and friends of the Downs National School and the neighbouring community are to be congratulated with the fabulous road race and social event that they organised. There was a great family atmosphere at the event and there was a very plentiful spread of refreshments afterwards in the Clubhouse. The event has grown strongly in it's second year. Community spirit was very evident. The Downs is part of the geographically very large parish of Kinnegad, Coralstown, and Clonard and there were many local participants from the parish. Well over 400 people took part in the event. The stormy wet weather of late cleared off. Whilst there was a strong headwind on the course for the final kilometer all in all the weather was very suitable for running.
The Downs is situated just off the M4 between Kinnegad and Mullingar and is accessed from Junction/Exit 14 on the M4 and following the R156.
The race starts on the Cloghan road (this is about 1KM from the GAA Clubhouse) and proceeds clock-wise around a circuit which takes in the main Killucan road. The race passes by the finish/race-hq on it's first loop. The road surface is a mixture of standard tarmacadam and gravel trail around by the forestry. Overall, the course is flat with just two very small hills for runners to content with. The course was very accurately measured and well marshalled.
The race is Athletics Association of Ireland approved. Timing was provided by Precision Timing who, as always, provided excellent timing and event management services on their day. Their website (with results from today's race) is available at: www.precisiontiming.net/result/racetimer

These little weeds are plentiful around south florida. I had my stacked extension tubes on and this is at 2:1 macro. I really enjoy weeds and photographing things we often overlook as beautiful and trying to protray them as such. You will commonly find Julia butterflies sipping nectar from these particular plants.

Sunburst Youth ChalleNGe Academy cadets and their families were reunited Saturday, Sept. 19, for the first time in 70 days. The cadets showed off some drill and ceremony skills then enjoyed a meal and several hours in the sun at Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos. Smiles and tears were plentiful, and proud parents said they already saw the growth in their children. The afternoon sun blazing high above with scattered chemclouds above. Just look at that horizon... *cough* Despite the geoengineered skies this day, me and my parents came here to SF to breathe the fresh sea breeze and to just simply relax and get away from the busy city life. The weather was nice here and wasn't too cold. Ultimately, there was no coastal fog which indeed made for a nice clear sunset over the Pacific this day. Although Hooded Mergansers are plentiful in False Creek in the winter it is not common to see Common Mergansers there. On February 2nd, this female swam into Alder Bay at the southeast corner of Granville Island. It was one of a few sunny days in February and there were lots of birds in the water.

The Downs is situated just off the M4 between Kinnegad and Mullingar and is accessed from Junction/Exit 14 on the M4 and following the R156.
The race starts on the Cloghan road (this is about 1KM from the GAA Clubhouse) and proceeds clock-wise around a circuit which takes in the main Killucan road. The race passes by the finish/race-hq on it's first loop. The road surface is a mixture of standard tarmacadam and gravel trail around by the forestry. Overall, the course is flat with just two very small hills for runners to content with. The course was very accurately measured and well marshalled.
The race is Athletics Association of Ireland approved. Timing was provided by Precision Timing who, as always, provided excellent timing and event management services on their day. Their website (with results from today's race) is available at: www.precisiontiming.net/result/racetimer

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. Zebras are African equids best known for their distinctive black and white stripes. Their stripes come in different patterns unique to each individual. They are generally social animals and can be seen in small harems to large herds. Unlike their closest relatives, horses and asses, zebras have never been truly domesticated.
There are three species of zebra: the plains zebra, Grévy's zebra and the mountain zebra. The plains zebra and the mountain zebra belong to the subgenus Hippotigris, but Grevy's zebra is the sole species of subgenus Dolichohippus. The latter resembles an ass, while the former two are more horse-like. Nevertheless, DNA and molecular data show that zebras do indeed have monophyletic origins. All three belong to the genus Equus, along with other living equids. In certain regions of Kenya, plains zebras and Grévy's Zebra coexist.
The unique stripes and behaviors of zebras make these among the animals most familiar to people. They can be found in a variety of habitats, such as grasslands, savannas, woodlands, thorny scrublands, mountains and coastal hills. However, various anthropogenic factors have had a severe impact on zebra populations, in particular hunting for skins and habitat destruction. Grevy's zebra and the mountain zebra are endangered. While plains zebras are much more plentiful, one subspecies, the quagga, went extinct in the late 19th century.
The name "zebra" comes from the Old Portuguese word zevra which means "wild ass". The pronunciation is /ˈzɛbrə/ ZEB-rə or /ˈziːbrə/ ZEE-brə.
Observing a beautiful meadow-y setting. Plentiful yellow mustard scatter the grassy fields/hillsides here. It's good to get alone with nature once in a while. This was during our brief hiking outing here at Santa Teresa County Park around San Jose, CA. The land was still filled with plantlife from all the rains this past season. I was with my cousin, Regina, Khin and Hnin. The weather was beautiful and sunny out...perfect day for recreational activities!

Santa Teresa County Park is an 1,674-acre park located in the hills of South Santa Clara County. The park is located at the southern end of the Santa Teresa Hills. Santa Teresa County Park offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including picnicking, golfing, hiking, mountain biking and more. The park offers over 17 miles of unpaved trails for equestrian, hiking and bicycle use. Some of the trails are steep, namely around Coyote Peak. The park is open year-round from 8 a.m. until sunset. This park is quite close to Sweet Tomatoes so it's quite convenient to go there for lunch after hiking... 'Til next time, happy hiking!

These plentiful fish feed the Tsimane' people and the Golden Dorado. They are, in large part, the reason the Dorado are so large and plentiful in this area. Though this Sabalo survived a Dorado attack, barely, it still ended up as dinner for the carpenter who is building the new Yahana out-camp.
Looking North Westerly from near the top of the Te Puna Quarry Park towards the Bay of Plenty, Tauranga Harbour. Part of the Kaimai Range can be seen on the far horizon.

Te Puna Quarry Park is situated at Te Puna,12 kilometers north of Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty, North Island of New Zealand, at the end of Quarry Road. It is being developed by a dedicated band of volunteers from a disused quarry into a world class park. This old scar on the hillside has already become a place of special beauty. From the upper levels there is a spectacular panoramic view out over the Bay of Plenty. There are ponds, tree ferns, cymbidium orchids by the thousand, native tree plantings and exotics such as vireya rhododendrons - a wild garden of infinite variety.
A sunset with plentiful high clouds, ending another Thursday in the city. The trees have made for a nice silhouette effect. I was eating my newly bought halo halo dessert from Jollibee at the time hehe. Pic taken from around San Jose, CA from around the Party City parking lot, near Eastridge Mall. It was a relatively mild, autumn afternoon this day with temps reaching up into the 70s for our area. Another low pressure trough and frontal system was moving slowly toward the coast. This system was to weaken as it nears the coast, but will bring rain to the coast and northern mountains on Friday thru Saturday. By the weekend, a weak high pressure ridge was forecast to be along the west coast. The state will then be mostly sunny and temps would be back to near normal. (Thursday around sunset, October 16, 2014; 6:07 p.m.)
