Pixelart but not made by Invader. I really had to convince myself that I hadn't come across any work by Invader here that I had never seen before.
The Rolling Stones revive in the Marais almost on the corner of the Rue des Archives. Installed in March 2021.
ZIGOMART
This piece of streetart made of pixels is made by the French artist Ziromart. His work is inspired by the pop culture from the 80's and the 90's. According to the Instagram account there are more than 32 pieces installed in the Marais.

Empty dishes in Piazza Duomo, Milan: for every offer made by people, a little bag of seeds tied to a balloon is put on the plate.
The result should represent a corn field, as a symbol of victory on the hunger that is killing people in Africa.

I'm doing one more of these adverts for my Red Bubble shop, full of stickers and phone cases.
Basically everything I'm going to make for this little side project is uploaded and ready. It's been fun to track the analytics and make all that sweet money.*

Oh stop the pain... it's such a fun idea when you start out. Then a few hours into it, you realize it's the most tedious mind-numbing work. Then again, a lot of art is like that. That's why I haven't finished a piece in a while.
Anyhow, this particular piece took about a month to complete. An hour or two here and there. It's all very straight forward until you hit a weird angle. Then things slow to a grinding halt. It is very much like coding. Everything is going fine, until something breaks and you spend 90% of the time debugging. That is exactly what happens when you get to a weird angle or rounded shape, click click... sit back, review, think, erase and again.
This is an example of isometric pixel art, made famous by the men of eBoy. Their work has been featured in a variety of magazines, most notably, Wired, one of my monthly reads. The more traditional pixel art (think 8-bit NES characters such as Super Mario) has less rules so work goes by a little more quickly.
It'll be quite some time before I venture into IPA territory again. Perhaps to make some updates to this piece as my room changes, or to animate the various screens. If I work up the nerve, I may even try to develop an exterior piece to populate a plot at Pixel Acres or the more impressive I S O C I T Y. Anyone care to join me in our quest for pixel perfection?
Hey Tomo, remember KIR Studios. We should definitely make our presentations in IPA format.
Oh, almost forgot. For those not in the know, this is my bedroom. I've taken the liberty of tidying up the room a bit. I just didn't have the energy to add in all the random items that clutter up the space. I had a smaller Hitachi CM771 monitor occupying the desk when I started this piece, but halfway through, it was swapped out for a massive Viewsonic P220f, if anyone cares to see the CM771 in IPA format let me know.
