Macro Mondays: Zodiac

Wooo hooo got down the coast a few nights back and wasn't disppointed.

You can probably gather that this ain't Scotland as the water has a nice tinge to it.

I am always drawn to water being a Piscean and managed to fnd a spot just outside the centre of Tripoli. There is literally bin bags of rubbish strewn across the beaches here and only once you get onto the waterline do things improve as there is little tidal movement.

There is a lot of development going on here and took me several failed attempts to get access to the beach and then decided to go into a building site. Bad move....

Myself and a couple of work colleagues promptly got approach by some workers living on the site who didn't appear too happy. Whoops I was having visions of ending up in the cells and getting deported...etc.

Luckily after a few minutes of trying to explain they were happy with us to take photos and one of the guys even ended up praying with them.

People have been exceptionally warm and friendly so far and everyone seems to have an air of optimism no matter their circumstances.

Lee grad 0.9 an 0.9 ND for 20 seconds.

Found another spot only 20 mins walk from the city centre with lots of possiblities with rocks and old jetties along a mile stretch but never had a tripod but will post one later to get an idea. Will definately be back there fully equiped shortly.

The River-Merchant’s Wife: A Letter

"While my hair was still cut straight across my forehead

I played about the front gate, pulling flowers.

You came by on bamboo stilts, playing horse,

You walked about my seat, playing with blue plums.

And we went on living in the village of Chōkan:

Two small people, without dislike or suspicion.

At fourteen I married My Lord you.

I never laughed, being bashful.

Lowering my head, I looked at the wall.

Called to, a thousand times, I never looked back.

At fifteen I stopped scowling,

I desired my dust to be mingled with yours

Forever and forever, and forever.

Why should I climb the look out?

At sixteen you departed

You went into far Ku-tō-en, by the river of swirling eddies,

And you have been gone five months.

The monkeys make sorrowful noise overhead.

You dragged your feet when you went out.

By the gate now, the moss is grown, the different mosses,

Too deep to clear them away!

The leaves fall early this autumn, in wind.

The paired butterflies are already yellow with August

Over the grass in the West garden;

They hurt me.

I grow older.

If you are coming down through the narrows of the river Kiang,

Please let me know beforehand,

And I will come out to meet you

As far as Chō-fū-Sa.

My boyfriend took these photos. I enlarged it in photoshop........ We took this photo around 8 o'clock in the morning. The water was clam but painfully cold. The lighting was difficult, but I hope I did an good job on contrasting and finding the right exposures for this photograph.

I bought this wedding dress at value village for only 40-50 $. I love this dress !

Fish lurking in McGuire Lake

Am I creepy enough for you?

Port of Felixstowe on 16th June 2023

The pelicans, which usually are all over the pier and try to snatch the fish off the line or out of the bucket of the fishermen, were nowhere to be seen, so the abundant catch was just left lying around for a while...

Our entries are yin-yang-themed Pisces (♋), the last of the 12 Zodiac signs.

Stay tuned for the rest of the pics :)

It must have been my horoscope that forecast a pair of chopstick rests would come in useful for Macro Mondays... someday!

'Pisces', the last of the twelve signs of the zodiac;

Photographer/Manipulation: Jason Juta

Okay, I know they aren't really fish, but that is what they reminded me of looking at them here. My youngest found this beauty at one of the bridges we stopped at and I just loved the texture and look of it plus I knew the bokeh was going to be pretty with leaves as the background.

Macro Mondays theme '' Zodiac''

For this week Macro Mondays theme '' Zodiac '', I decided to use a pair of fish shaped chopstick rest holders. They are made of Pewter and I positioned them to represent the Pisces zodiac sign. But I guess you already figured that out… 😊.

Each rest holder is roughly 2” long. The whole frame is within the 3” guideline. By the way, this is not my zodiac sign.

Thank you everyone for your visits, faves, and kind comments
