Like North Falls further upstream, Middle North Falls has certain characteristics which one could argue give it an edge when comparing it to the park's main attraction, South Falls. Despite being considerably shorter, Middle North Falls is a markedly amorphous waterfall which changes physical shape in a very dramatic way as the volume of water in North Silver Creek changes. The 106 foot tall falls take the form of a narrow column of water during the summer months, funneled to perhaps 5 feet wide at most by a narrow runnel in the bedrock. With greater stream flow in the winter and spring months however, North Silver Creek sheets out across the 60-foot wide creek bed and turns the falls into a broad curtain of water, with part of the falls impacting on a twisting chute of basalt which then slides to join the more volumnous half of the creek in the plunge pool.

Middle North Falls is one of four waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park which features a trail which traverses behind the falling water. Unlike the other three, the trail leading behind Middle North Falls is a dead-end, constructed purely to allow access to additional views of the falls.

The Fairy Pools are a natural waterfall phenomenon in Glen Brittle on the Isle of Skye. The vivid blues and greens of the pools suggest an unnatural origin. They are a popular place for wild swimmers.

The habitat of the Fairy Pools hosts a variety of animals, such as red deer, rabbits, and sheep. The area is also host to a large number of birds. Large flocks of crows, ravens, and gulls are present in the area, as well as such smaller birds as meadow pipits, turnstones, common ringed plovers, grey herons, dunlins, and curlews. The physical landscape is predominately rocky, with some boggy areas here and there. The water in the area is typically cold.

The Fairy Pools are a popular location for walkers. It is about a 20 minute walk to the Fairy Pools from the Glen Brittle car park.

The Garden of Flowing Fragrance, is one of the finest classical-style Chinese gardens outside of China. Filled with Chinese plants and framed by exquisite architecture, the landscape is enriched with references to literature and art. Visitors can find both physical relaxation and mental stimulation when exploring the dramatic 15-acre garden.

Let's Get Physical

See Dewy's version HERE

If we get the right information from our society during development, and if our body do chemical, physical, biological and psychological functions well, we do well.

Lysandra coridon has a wingspan of 30–36 millimetres (1.2–1.4 in).[4] These small butterflies present a sexual dimorphism. This species' physical appearance can be described as males having pale silvery-blue upperside of the wings with a submarginal line of grey spots on the hindwings and a thin brown and white chequered fringe. Females have dark brown upperside of wings, with marginal orange spots and also with chequered fringes.[5] The underside of the wings show a light ochre colouration, several dark spots surrounded by white, a submarginal line of black marks, a series of marginal orange spots on the hindwings and a blue dusting near the body.

As with many blue butterflies, separation from similar species in the field is on the underside markings. Aberrations are common.

View from Iidabashi Station (飯田橋駅) toward southwest with the stone base of Ushigome-mitsuke checkpoint (牛込見附) and the Sotobori moat installed with the railway tracks of Chuuou Line.

Two photos were merged to get this image.

Despite intensive urban development, this area retains the original appearance of the citadel and Sotobori. The road in the photo leads to the Tayasu-mon gate of Kitanomaru compound where Budokan is located.

Mitsuke (見附) is a gate with a checkpoint often combined with a bridge over the moat. There were 8 gates in Edo, which were called -mitsuke. Similar checkpoints were often called -mon (門 gate) like Kita Hanebashi-mon and Hirakawa-mon.

Sotobori had been the physical boundary of the Samurai area during the Edo Period, which almost overlaps the present-day Chiyoda City except for the Kanda area that was part of Shitamachi, the downtown and commoners' area.

The left half of this photo belongs to Chiyoda City. Shinjuku City across the moat in the right and Bunkyou City outside of the frame are located outside of Sotobori. I don't know which City Iidabashi Station belongs to.

It was a silly conduct that the local governments of Bunkyou

and Shinjuku Cities decided to fill a short section of the outer moat in the opposite direction of this photo despite its historical, architectural and cultural importance of the neighbourhood.

The highly tangled-up intersection as uploaded previously is also located on the opposite side of Iidabashi Station.

Player Tokens – Represent individual players on the game board (e.g., Monopoly tokens, Chess pieces).

Meeples – Small, humanoid wooden figures used in Euro-style board games (e.g., Carcassonne).

Dice – Used for randomization, movement, or determining outcomes (e.g., Dungeons & Dragons, Yahtzee).

Cards – Can serve as game pieces when used for actions, characters, or resources (e.g., Magic: The Gathering, Uno).

Tiles – Used to build maps or change the game layout (e.g., Settlers of Catan, Mahjong).

The osprey (Pandion haliaetus) is one of the most fascinating birds of prey, known for its incredible ability to hunt fish. Its distribution is very wide, as it is found on almost every continent except Antarctica. Physical characteristics It is a large bird, with a wingspan of up to 170 cm. Its plumage is unmistakable: the upperparts are dark brown, while the underparts are predominantly white. The head is white with a characteristic dark brown mask that extends from the beak to behind the eyes. The wings are long, angular, and end in black tips. Diet and hunting method As its name suggests, its diet consists almost exclusively of fish, which it catches with a spectacular hunting technique. It flies low over the water, hovers in the air, and once it locates its prey, it dives with its talons forward. Their feet are specially adapted for this task: An opposable outer toe, which allows them to hold the fish with two toes forward and two back. Long, sharp nails. Pads with spicules on the soles of the toes to prevent the slippery fish from escaping. The Osprey in Spain In Spain, the Osprey has experienced a notable historical decline due to direct persecution and habitat destruction. However, in recent decades, the population has begun to recover. Breeding population: It is mainly found in the Canary Islands, the Balearic Islands, and Andalusia. There is also a population in the Chafarinas Islands. Wintering population: We can also find a considerable number of specimens that spend the winter on the Iberian Peninsula, especially in wetlands and coastal areas. Conservation status Although globally it is considered a species of "Least Concern", in some areas such as the Balearic Islands, it is listed as "Vulnerable" and is the subject of specific conservation plans. The main threats it faces are loss of coastal habitat, disturbance of nesting areas, and interaction with other species such as gulls.

The Winter Palace was the official residence of the Russian Emperors from 1732 to 1917. Today, the palace and its precincts form the Hermitage Museum. Situated between Palace Embankment and Palace Square, in Saint Petersburg, adjacent to the site of Peter the Great's original Winter Palace, the present and fourth Winter Palace was built and altered almost continuously between the late 1730s and 1837, when it was severely damaged by fire and immediately rebuilt. The storming of the palace in 1917, as depicted in Soviet propaganda art and Sergei Eisenstein's 1927 film October, became an iconic symbol of the Russian Revolution.

As completed, the overriding exterior form of the Winter Palace's architecture, with its decoration in the form of statuary and opulent stucco work on the pediments above façades and windows, is Baroque. The exterior has remained as finished during the reign of Empress Elizabeth. The principal façades, those facing the Palace Square and the Neva river, have always been accessible and visible to the public. Only the lateral façades are hidden behind granite walls, concealing a garden created during the reign of Nicholas II. The building was conceived as a town palace, rather than a private palace within a park, such as that of the French kings at Versailles.

The palace was constructed on a monumental scale that was intended to reflect the might and power of Imperial Russia. From the palace, the Tsar ruled over 22,400,000 square kilometers (8,600,000 sq mi) (almost 1/6 of the Earth's landmass) and over 125 million subjects by the end of the 19th century. It was designed by many architects, most notably Bartolomeo Rastrelli, in what came to be known as the Elizabethan Baroque style. The green-and-white palace has the shape of an elongated rectangle, and its principal façade is 215 metres (705 ft) long and 30 m (98 ft) high. The Winter Palace has been calculated to contain 1,886 doors, 1,945 windows, 1,500 rooms and 117 staircases. Following a serious fire, the palace's rebuilding of 1837 left the exterior unchanged, but large parts of the interior were redesigned in a variety of tastes and styles, leading the palace to be described as a "19th-century palace inspired by a model in Rococo style".

It can happen to anyone, from any walk of life.

20 years ago I had a career that I was incredibly proud of, saving lives, I had a home, mortgage, car and disposable income. I was confident and, even though I hate to blow my own trumpet, I was incredibly good at the work that I did.

I was, however, bullied, harassed, abused, belittled and ostracised by management and many colleagues in a toxic environment where this behaviour had spread like a cancer. This went on daily for 13 years. I thought that I was 'ignoring' it and just knuckling down in my work. I didn't know, until it was too late, that this was damaging both my physical and mental health.

After some time off due to a stress breakdown I returned and the bullying turned into a witch hunt. They succeeded. My mental and physical health had been destroyed. I was wrongly advised to resign by a union that had representatives embedded in management. I was too unwell to pursue any means of recompense.

Losing my career lead to my first Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy attack. This one was nearly fatal.

I have suffered from Complex Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) for at least 20 years as a direct result of this. Only finally receiving help for the condition last year after years of medical denial because the establishment at the time did not understand the connection between non-life threatening instances and PTSD despite mounting evidence. Thankfully it is much better understood today.

The bullies took my career, my confidence, my identity, my physical health, my mental health and now they have taken my relationship and my home. My ex being unable to cope with my PTSD and reacting to it in a way that was making it worse in a cycle that just destroyed our relationship.

Now, unable to work and unable to claim benefits for the moment, unwell, terrified and struggling at times to cope with basic life things, I am facing this horrendous situation that is so daunting there are times that my thoughts go to a very dark place.

I never imagined any of this would happen to me. I was on top of the world back in the early 2000s. The best time of my entire life.

Maybe I deserved this. Maybe I did something terrible in a former life. I don't know. I can't make sense of it.

I don't want to give up just yet. I want to fight back. I just have so little actual physical support. PTSD can cause isolation. Distrust. Withdrawal.

I have lost my few best friends since moving to Scotland for numerous reasons outside of my control. My family are 300 miles away and offer just loving thoughts. I am on my own.

On Friday I will be completely on my own for the first time in 20 years. This time without the confidence and abilities I had back then. I have to try and find them but without safety, comfort and familiarity I face an impossible task. It can take monumental effort just to cook a simple meal. PTSD is a terrible thing to have.

I am sharing my story as I don't know when or how I will return to Flickr.

Photography has been my recovery. My saviour from PTSD. An adrenaline kick from street photography, the excitement of the edit when you return home. Sharing my photographs with you and taking time to enjoy your photographs. The Flickr routine has kept my sanity and been an important part of my day for years now. I fully intend to return but the odds are against me at least for the moment.

Some of you wanted to help by donating towards the expensive Internet costs I will face in temporary housing.

I hate asking for help but please know that I am incredibly grateful for the help that I have received, both financially and otherwise. Just knowing that people care is a help in itself.

If you wish to keep in touch with me via WhatsApp while I am unable to get my PC online then please Flickrmail me your contact details. (bearing in mind that over the next few days my time is limited).

My PC will be packed tomorrow so I may make one more post before I go. I'll make sure it is a happier picture.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am profoundly thankful for the friendships and acquaintances that I have made here. You are all wonderful, awesome people. Thank you.

"To me the Fox Sparrow stands out as the singer of joy. Many birds are of this kind, but few are to such a degree as this inhabitant of the stunted woodlands of the North. The musical construction indicates it, for instance the dancing rhythm, the major keys, and the speed with which it fairly shoots through the central phrase. But deeper than these are certain qualities in his physical being and character, which make for happiness: his robustness and virility, his excessive activity in all his waking hours."

Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon in northern New Mexico with the southern Rocky Mountains. The view is looking to the northwest to the ridges and peaks with the Brazos Cliffs in the Tusas Mountains. This was at a roadside pullout along U.S. Route 64. With this image, I zoomed in a little with the focal length to center the cliffs off in the distance, while still including some foreground interest with the nearby grassy meadow and forest of evergreen trees.

I have been nursing a bad back injury that occurred years ago. Once you aggravate it is takes months of physical therapy and exercise to either go away or for it to go back to normal. The last few months of 2021 were painful. Its is the reason why you didn't get much photography from me in the end of 2021... With that being said.

I usually don't go quite with my photography during the off storm season. I'm a sucker for good light. Sunsets & Sunrises... when the light is right. Only reason I was out. Was to get my daughter back to College. Had dropped her off for and was heading back home.

I'm always with camera in hand in case of that special sky moment... I think this was one of them!

YELLOW-TAILED ORIOLE. Icterus mesomelas. This Yellow-tailed Oriole male is displaying on the upper edge of a banana leaf. The male has its head and neck arched markedly upward and its tail is strikingly lifted up. This display was photographed in Mindo, Ecuador at 10:55 AM on October 13, 2014.

Two male Yellow-tailed Orioles have been displaying agonistic (aggressive) behavior in the presence of a female. This behavior has consisted of visual displays accompanied by acoustic signals. These behaviors were observed continuously over a period of 30 minutes and may have been of a longer duration both before they moved close to me and after they moved off into a steep, inaccessible wooded area. The behaviors consisted solely of visual and acoustic displays; physical combat was not observed. The two males were observed in close proximity on wires and they also displayed on the leaves of a banana plant below the wires. During much of this period of male displays, the female remained a medium distance away although at a later stage all three birds were briefly observed in close proximity.

The Yellow-tailed Oriole can be found from southeastern Mexico south through Central America to Colombia, northwestern Venezuela, Ecuador and northwestern Perú.

The Yellow-tailed Oriole is a member of the family Icteridae. In Ecuador, it is known by the common name Chiroca.
