Bodnant Garden is a National Trust property near Tal-y-Cafn, Conwy, Wales, overlooking the Conwy Valley towards the Carneddau mountains. Founded in 1874 and developed by five generations of one family, it was given to the National Trust in 1949.
Fanum House Basingstoke. Headquarters of the Automobile Association Once the tallest building between here and America but has now been superseded in that claim by Skyline Plaza in Basingstoke, which is two metres taller. I took the picture at this angle as it appears as a Phoenix rising from its ashes and in effect so it has. Phoenix Creek Sink: We can see the water sinking underground here. Scientists have tested the water and know that this is the same stream we saw spring up at Pottruff Spring.
It is difficult to guess the course the water took to get from here to there because it travels underground and we cannot see it flow. But, we can look at the evidences of water on the surface and make hypotheses.
One way scientists can tell if water has flown underground is by checking the water’s temperature. In the summer, the spring water will be colder than water from a surface stream because the sun will not warm it up as it flows underground. In the winter, the spring water will be warmer because the cold air will not have chilled it, as it did the surface water.

A macro of a yellow lily. When I composed this shot, the stigma & stamens reminded me of a phoenix rising from the fire and ashes, which in this picture are the bokeh'd petals.

I am finally planning a book of my best photographs--a portfolio of sorts, but I am having a little trouble deciding on which photos to consider. I figured that one way to narrow down my selection is to ask you. I would especially like to hear from those of you who have watched my stream for at least 6 months.
