The company to be with on a muggy, rainy Saturday afternoon! Wish you a pleasant and comfortable weekend.... and, to all fathers: Happy Father's Day!

Tracks vanishing in the mist have a strange symbolism. Like to never take a train to some other world as master Miyazaki had portayed. The train would be full of spooky strangers anyway. Only ghosts could travel to such a mist. And yet, the hope lingers. Or is it a fear of that actually happening one day? To fly away or to become a ghost, there is no difference...

A while ago I've read this in a book:

I like being alone.

I have control over my own space.

Therefore, in order to win me over, your presence has to be better than my solitude.

You're not competing with another person, you are competing with my comfort zone.

[Horatio Jones]

My first thought: "Isn't that selfish?"

It sounds like telling someone: "Give your best if you want to be my friend!" ... It sounds like: "Show me if you're worth it to be with me!"

I hated that thought.

That quote followed me. I was thinking about it over and over again. After a while I tried to take out the negative vibes.

Random thoughts:

"your presence has to be better than my solitude" ... a demand on someone to be perfect? or are some ppl just not compatible... not meant to be friends?

Taking care of your "own space" doesn't exclude being open minded. Taking care of your own space doesn't mean that you're unkind to other ppl if you remain humble and empathic

Knowing your comfort zone is essential to protect it or to step out of it or let someone in.

Right now.. in these times of covid19 we HAVE to spend a lot of time in our "own space" .. without the presence of others.

Can we deal with it? Who do we miss? Are we missed?

How long feels the comfort zone comfortable while having to stay alone there? *smile*

In our own space... now is the time to rethink... rearrange ...

This time is precious - I wish us all to use it wisely.

Stay safe and healthy!

Love,

Mara

I have a special fondness for bamboo, not because they grow everywhere here in Indonesia but because of the philosophy behind it. Bamboo could easily bend in strong winds, but they rarely break. It is its durability and vitality that amazes me the most. HGGT!

The Thinker statue symbolizes philosophy because of its profound pondering and contemplation attitude.

Many thanks for your time, visit and comments - always highly appreciated!

Enlarge this photograph and take a close look at this natural garden. Remind you of Eden? I love Japanese gardens because they have the appearance of being totally natural and yet they are 100 percent cultivated.

But this alpine flora is totally adapted to the changeable conditions. The colours are gorgeous and earthy. They reflect the Tasmanian palette that artist Max Angus promoted in his long art career as a painter of the Tasmanian wilderness. Max was influenced by his photographer friend Olegas Truchanas, and they in turn shaped the way Peter Dombrovskis saw the Tasmanian wilderness - with pure unadulterated joy.

One final point. At the moment I have the arduous job of weeding my own garden. But look closely here. Do you see any weeds? Any plants out of place? No need for weeding in a pure natural environment. There's a real lesson here for all of us!

Which, you must choose between What is to Be or Not to Be?

In the book of Philosophy of Life “I think; therefore, I am”... But who you are realy and where are you going is another question that needs to be Answered.

So well, My Son,

Do you wish to know the full meaning of life?

It's so simple to see in the way of;

Seasons come, seasons go.

Seasons change, and seasons flow.

Bud to leaf. Seed to a tree. Green to brown.

From the spring, through the summer, autumn, winter.

Like the world that keeps turning round and round,

we all go on and on.

So, what have we become like?

Well My Son, life is just like a beanstalk, isn't it?

Just a crazy notion and a bit of creative fun from a part of a crystallised stained glass window, from Worcester Cathedral on my resist visit to Worcester. Which caught my attention and I loved the way of the backlight shined from outside on this part of the widow, which was casting some nice light and colours around it.

Many thanks for your cool comments and compliments from you here, my good flickr friends !!!

This type of carriage was patented in 1834 by Joseph Hansom, an architect from York, England. www.historic-uk.com/HistoryUK/HistoryofBritain/Joseph-Han...

This particular cab was built locally in Launceston - probably in the 1860s. It may well have been built at this very location by Frederick Paine, a carriage building firm established in 1864:

Paine saw the writing on the wall with the invention of motor cars, and from 1908 started building motor car bodies. www.julianburgess.com.au/single-post/2019/09/24/praise-fo...

I've shown you Citadel Rock, like a fortress guarding the top of Jacob's Ladder in the final push to the summit of Ben Lomond. Well not far away this pile of huge rock shards in the mist looks for all the world like a natural embattlement. In the world of fantasy literature, such natural structures make the mind run wild with theories of ancient wars.

up to a deep minimum focus.

No, this is not pinhole. But I had to show you this beautiful interior. This church was built in 1885 to replace the old Wesleyan Chapel of the Methodist Church. I have previously shown how it is set on a hill that towers above everything else in the town. www.flickr.com/photos/luminosity7/50334597378/in/album-72...

The window on the left has some beautiful stained glass that dates from 1884. It was a gift by former students of Horton College. This college was run by the church and existed not far down the road. Unfortunately all that is left of it is a single arch. www.flickr.com/photos/luminosity7/50350853282/in/album-72...

The motifs are fascinating and I've never seen this combination of biblical figures together like this before. There is the calling of the young boy Samuel to be a prophet in Israel (1 Samuel 3), and then on the other side is the raising of young Timothy (Paul's apostolic protégé) by his mother Eunice and his grandmother Lois. Timothy went on to become a bishop in the early church.

In the middle is another young man fresh from his Bar Mitzvah who showed wisdom far beyond his years when he debated with the Jewish theologians in the Temple at the age of 12: His name was Yeshua ben Joseph. We know him as Jesus.

Pareidolia - the illusion of seeing a facial structure in an everyday object.

The woolshed at the back is a clear example of pareidolia, as it looks like it has been watching over the farm all those years.

The square format of the 120 film really allows the photographer to fill the frame. With film it is crucial to pre-visualise the desired composition. Slowing down to use the Rollieflex TLR camera allows you to do that. This is not a camera for snapshots.

As I explained in the description to my "Suburban Dreams" slideshow, each of these photographs are related to the other. www.flickr.com/photos/luminosity7/52638166831/in/datepost...

They are not random shots, but each tells us one more thing about the nature of a typical modern working class suburb. I always work in series, but this collection was most definitely planned. The twilight setting and light is all part of the creation of a mood. Is it possible to find things of beauty in the midst of the mundane and ordinary? That's more about philosophy than photography. And why I am such an odd fit for Flickr.
