I'll continue with some more treasures from Arthur Purchases' collection of New England shortlines. The Claremont & Concord was a former interurban and freight operation that stretched from Claremont Jct east to Newport, NH. It was an interesting line with sharp curves and quite a bit of street trackage. The CPM and Coy mill in West Claremont was a great money maker for decades. Through the years of ownership by the Pinsly organization, it operated with a fleet of GE 44 ton switchers painted in a brilliant red and black scheme. The 1970-80s were a busy time for the railroad, hauling road salt, grain, lumber and outbound traffic from Claremont flock corp. The C&C interchanged with the B&M at Claremont Jct, and was a 5 day a week operation. Here 44 tonner number 18 equipped with a homemade snow plow is crossing Mullberry Street in Claremont, NH with 3 loads of bagged grain and feed from the Webster Mill in Richford, VT off the CP for the Agway dealer in Claremont. This cool sculpture is located in Stony Brook, New York at Avalon Park. The "Mirror Ball" Is a really Unique Sculpture where you can insert a note card with a personalized message to a loved one whom no longer has an earth address. There is a slot to insert the message into the ball.

I worked a bit on the ergonomics and some details to make this new old race bike more mine. As usual I changed brake operation (front rhs / rear lhs). This is not an easy task, as on the top tube the rear brake cable enters the frame on the left front side. Further the crankset was changed to 175mm, I installed a Selle Flite saddle, a Nitto stem and a Soma HWY1 bar.
