Perhaps not an accurate title but catchy title anyway. This is a stream I discovered while hiking near Lake Minnewanka. It is located in Banff National Park, Alberta Canada. The day was perfect and the clouds were incredible. Processed in Lightroom and Topaz.
In Genesis, it is said that God created the grass, and herbs, and trees on the third day, and on the fourth day He created the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night.
Perhaps this is what the fourth day looked like, before there were animals and people and all that we know today.

Dacnis Cayana - Male - The Blue Dacnis is a stunning inhabitant of humid lowland forest from Honduras to south to northeastern Argentina. The Blue Dacnis is sexually dimorphic: the male primarily is bright turquoise blue with a black throat, back and tail, whereas the female is mostly green with a blue crown. Blue Dacnis are most often found foraging for nectar and insects in the tops of trees along forest edges or small clearings. When foraging for insects, the Blue Dacnis usually takes its prey from leaves, often with acrobatic maneuvers; the Blue Dacnis frequently pays particular attention to brown spots on green leaves, apparently seeking out leaf damage that might indicate the presence of an insect.
The common name for this species in Spanish is the Dacnis Azul (Hilty 2011, de Juana et al. 2012), and in Portuguese it is Saí-Azul (CRBO 2010). The etymology of Dacnis comes from the Greek daknis, an unidentified bird from Egypt (Jobling 2010). The specific epithet cayana was used along with cayanensis and cayanus in to refer to Cayenne or French Guiana; Cayenne was often used for species that were from an uncertain province thought to be in the Amazon (Jobling 2010). Birds of the World.

Saltator atripennis
(Black-winged Saltator / Saltador de alas negras)
The Black-winged Saltator is a fairly common resident of humid montane forest on the west slope of the Andes from southern Ecuador to northern Colombia. It is more difficult to see than some other species of saltator, perhaps due to its preference for the canopy and its avoidance of clearings.

It's a good thing foil came up as a theme for Macro Mondays because now I have a reason for keeping a bag of multicolored foil bits! Perhaps they'll make it into ice cubes some day but for now it's a foil abstract.
The image area measures about 1.5 inches X 1.5 inches.

La dura vita della volpe in inverno.
Angelo Branduardi
l'aria annusando indecisa,
si è ritratta poi tremando un po'
di paura
Perhaps it is true that any past time was better.
In my photography classes I always say that we cannot photograph far from our state of mind. What do you think about it?

Perhaps another image which finds its beauty in B&W. The original green color was not a shade I was fond of! This was the parting glimpse I had of the beautiful canal that feeds into the lake of the backwaters. There are a few more images of the lake that are coming soon before we leave this beautiful place.
Perhaps the oldest settlement in Brazil, since the exploratory expedition of Gaspar de Lemos and Américo Vespúcio arrived at the place on January 24, 1502, which left a Portuguese exile Cosme Fernandes, known as Bacharel de Cananéia, who became a powerful figure in the region, coming to own many slaves and not paying allegiance to the Portuguese crown. Years later, in 1531, Portugal sent another expedition, under the command of Martim Afonso de Sousa, who arrived in the community of Cananéia, this date being considered the foundation of the village.
This facade seems to be a remnant of the early 18th century, a house built with stone and clay and lime mortar and waterproofed with whale oil.

1598
Alfonso II, the last Duke of the Este family, dies and the territories of the Duchy of Ferrara pass to the Papal State. In the meantime, the Po Delta advanced northwards with branches of Tramontana, Levante and Scirocco.
The Po di Tramontana, in particular, began with its sediments to raise the depths of the lagoon towards Chioggia.
1600-1604
For fear that the north-eastern expansion of the Delta would bury the Venice lagoon, in the early 1600s the Po was diverted south towards the Sacca di Goro with an artificial canal which is its current bed. This intervention called "Taglio di Porto Viro", determined the beginning of the formation of the modern Delta.
The old bed became a navigable canal, the Canal Bianco-Po di Levante. If before 1600 the Delta expanded by about 53 hectares a year, from 1604 to 1840 it increased to 135 hectares a year.

Most of the birds had tolerated me this year and posed for me,
only the Mockingbirds come less often. perhaps my timing is off with them.
This weasel has an obvious eye injury and is perhaps blinded in that eye. It does not seem to be a catostrophic injury as this one seems to be as quick and deliberate as any weasel I have observed.
I am calling this a Long-tailed Weasel because the weasels I observed in this park in the summer have a tawny back coat and yellow fur from under the chin down to the base of the tail.
Short-tailed Weasels also live here, but they have white fur in the same places where the Longed-tailed Weasels have the yellow fur in summer colour.
In winter, they appear identical. The long-tailed Weasel is longer in body length, and its tail is longer compared to body length than the Short-tailed Weasel, but they don't sit still enough to measure those metrics :)

Perhaps the best-known group of Narcissus, many of these large Trumpet Daffodils such as 'King Alfred' have been favorites since Victorian times. Multiplying freely, these terrific naturalizers have a long blooming season. Large flowers, with trumpets as long as or longer than the flower petals.

Face pareidolia – the phenomenon of seeing faces in everyday objects – uses the same brain processes that we use to recognise and interpret other ‘real’ human faces.
Where it all started, or where you can find out how it started.
There are stories that should not be forgotten... Well, perhaps we should never forget. From memories, from the past and from our history we learn. Today I begin to record the result of my investigations. A task that has taken me a year, a long year of wandering between the shelves of the Carnelian Archive, where all the Fairlands chronicles are kept. The dust, the smell of leather, paper and history have been my faithful companions in this search, which is now over. It was something personal, yes. It has already been lost in time and in the silence of my relatives over the years, but I needed to know the truth. And the truth, like a polished diamond with countless faces, is not as simple as they imagined. There is no good or bad, but a mixture of the two whose balance maintains the Universe. Anyway, this is not the time to ramble. I think I should pick up the scattered fragments, hinted at in these flickr posts, and tell the whole story, though maybe not the whole truth, who knows....

Perhaps this will be my last winter image for this season since we are officially into spring. Taken about 7 years ago of the historic Wagaman Mill near my home. HMM
Perhaps the most famous view with Prague Castle and the St Vitus Cathedral on the hill. My first attempt at a blue hour shot, only heard about it a few months ago, still not used a tripod. This was taken from a river side restaurant, every table was taken by 5.00 pm.
Then as the sky darkened, cameras came out & you could not move or see the bridge for all the people, tripods & selfie shooters.
Great watching the more professional photographers with their multiple shots, long exposures & different filters.
One even felt sorry for me, looking at my expensive camera balanced on railings, he offer the use of his tripod, too late already taken this, not bad for a first attempt
but you can always make it less thankless. :-)
