I had to pick and post this shot from my early days of HDR photography. Somehow it reminds me of the performance of flickr today....Pandamania.
The Bearwolves at The Finsbury giving their final performance and a farewell to my son Alexis on the left who is beginning a new chapter in his life and settling down with the love of his life Moira in Germany. Saddened that I am losing him, I wish them both joy and happiness for the rest of their lives together.
As the spotlight comes on to her, she smiles a feeling of pure excitement as she prepares for the act to begin!
Inside the lonely long abandoned Iowa one room schoolhouse of the previous picture. The schoolhouse, like this forgotten piano, is slowly decaying away. In a few years, it will most likely collapse, I felt unsafe walking on that old floor as it was full of holes.The drop to the basement is pretty significant!

Another capture from the performance. It's a full frame, slightly cropped from the right. I wished I could get them whole into my frame but moving backwards meant capturing lots of twigs and branches, so not much better than staying put and enjoying the show.

...and what's not to love! 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe, 289ci High Performance engine, 271hp, 4 speed manual trans, 3.89 rear ratio, a beautiful car in beautiful condition and would be a joy to own! Quick, fun, good looking, fuel efficient, a very livable car! What more could you ask for! Well, the keys and the title maybe!
With most wildlife, the male of the species performs, e.g., prances, sticks out their chest, etc. in an effort to attract a mate. Ultimately the female of the species chooses who impresses them most and it's a done deal. Come to think of it, that recipe for success goes far beyond wildlife. It's good to let the wise make the big decisions!
The Catalonian tradition of building human towers (Castells) dates back to the 18th century. By tradition the tower is topped by a child "enxaneta", light weight, agile and of course fearless ! After the fatal fall of Mariona Galindo in 2006, enxaneta have been required to wear helmets. This shot was taken as a Castell was being assembled, a performance by the Falcons de Barcelona.

Ben Harvey accordion and his band Ornamentals are not entertaining very often. You could probably count their yearly performances on one hand. I for one, look forward to hear this band, as accordion is rarely used in jazz. Ben always dresses up and his bandmates have to keep up. Benson Lee on jazz banjo, Great Bob Scott on drums and Gram Whitty -bass upright bass. Gene Harvey played sax, but is not always available as he performs all over the world. Ben and Gene are also very capable singers, so good entertainment is guaranteed.

Taken out at Dundas Square one evening. My attention was originally drawn to the street performer in black pants and red vest....the crowd seemed entertained.......I was trying to focus on what this guy was doing when Madame walked by me and decided to stand directly in front of moi....so I said to myself....well lets take a shot !...and voila here it is !!!!!
