ÂŤWhat happens in Ukraine matters to us all.
That is why I am in Kyiv today.
That is why the UK will continue to stand with our Ukrainian friends.
I believe Ukraine can and will win this war.Âť
/British Prime Minister Boris Johnson arrived in Kyiv as the country celebrates Independence Day./
Life in Ukraine has never been easy. Many challenges have always awaited every Ukrainian every day - from the usual family and existential ones to unpredictable ones related to the political life of society. The war of 2014 fell on Ukrainians by surprise, like some kind of disease. That war was perceived as a disease that could be cured, because no one could and did not want to believe that it was a harbinger of something terrible, that trouble was brewing. How was it possible with common sense to believe that your neighbor would declare: "I will destroy you all and take all yours for myself." But February 24, 2022 came, and Russia began killing Ukrainians, destroying cities and villages, and looting our historical symbols. Life in Ukraine has changed. A different meaning of life has appeared, the dreams of Ukrainians have changed. We want to expel the enemy from every piece of the land of Ukraine and return to our usual and such difficult Ukrainian life. This is now the dream of everyone who lives in Ukraine and loves it, because there is nowhere better than it on the planet.

Walter Benjamin: "A Klee painting named Angelus Novus shows an angel looking as though he is about to move away from something he is fixatedly contemplating. His eyes are staring, his mouth is open, his wings are spread. This is how one pictures the angel of history. His face is turned toward the past. Where we perceive a chain of events, he sees one single catastrophe which keeps piling wreckage upon wreckage and hurls it in front of his feet. The angel would like to stay, awaken the dead, and make whole what has been smashed. But a storm is blowing from Paradise; it has got caught in his wings with such violence that the angel can no longer close them. The storm irresistibly propels him into the future to which his back is turned, while the pile of debris before him grows skyward. This storm is what we call progress."
The Japanese traditional costume is the symbol of nationality. We can see many kinds of styles, admirable textiles, and fabrics in their costume all around the world. The Japanese traditional costume is closely linked to the custom, which has been practiced in that area so that the respective dress pattern represents the nation or religion to express who they are. European traditional costume has a similar dress pattern, and a corset has been used to emphasize womenâs bodyline to appeal to an âhourglass.â On the other hand, the Japanese kimono conceals womenâs bodyline. This difference in both costumes shows the different approaches to how people and society perceive dress and women. The âhourglassâ is a symbol of femininity in the European tradition, but not in Japan. This is to say that the Japanese traditional costume is not only the dress to decorate on womenâs bodies, but also to express the identity of their life and culture.

its tracks. I made the

I can make myself invisible or small.
I can become gigantic & reach the
farthest things. I can change
the course of nature.
I can place myself anywhere in

I can summon the dead.
I can perceive events on other worlds,
in my deepest inner mind,
& in the minds of others.
I can..

Beauty is in your own yard. Thereâs beauty in a rainstorm, the sunshine or a snowstorm. Beauty defines how we see life and our lives and how weâre affected by what we see. Beauty defines how we perceive our days and nights and the people we meet along the way. What we do with our time and how we decide to share what we experience is a great deal of what I mean by âBeauty Is Never Far Awayâ When we share, we touch others with our words, deeds and even our photographs. Share your beauty no matter the means or method. Our World today needs more beauty, so be a supplier. Gratitude and Kindness are more valuable when shared.
The Geomethras - Spiritas Geometrium by Daniel Arrhakis (2022)
The Geomethras - Spiritas Geometrium
A special mystical order in the future that who are looking for the Spirit Of Geometry "Spiritas Geometrium" or who try to find, discover and interpret the intrinsic spirituality of certain geometric objects.
According to this theory developed by one of the Ion mystical theorists, certain geometric shapes potentiate and emanate certain spiritual forces and energies, strengthening the spirit or oppressing it.
The geometries created by nature or by man have within them a transforming and creative spiritual force that has been imprinted on them by natural laws or by the laws of human thought and universal consciousness.
This spiritual force is further enhanced by light and the trinomial, light, color and texture.
Changing any of the factors in this way can induce in the same geometric form different sensations or ambiances that are perceived by our senses and that ultimately condition our states of soul.
The main objective is to compile knowledge in a sacred book "The Geomethras Infinitus" or the "Geomethron" that will lead to the discovery of " The Perfect Sacred Geometry" a geometry without imperfections and with powers similar to the Philosopher's Stone of the alchemists but with a more universal scope.
In the next works we will explore this theme.

You don't necessarily wish something in such a moment. But supposedly pigeon shit brings luck. That's what they say. Whether that also applies if the umbrella (used here as a parasol) is hit? Maybe the pigeon does not hit at all. Or the protagonist does not wish anything at the moment and keeps her eyes closed for a completely different reason. Perhaps, to be able to better perceive a passing scent.

Man muss sich nicht unbedingt etwas wßnschen in solch einem Augenblick. Aber angeblich bringt Taubenschiss Glßck. So sagt man.

this is not a metaphor
both require you to fix and hold your attention on the world in front of you
both are ways of perceiving the world(s)
Umana... perchè il genere umano percepisce il pericolo solo quando tocca ciò che è vicino alla propria sfera personale?
Perchè non riesce a capire che, per il bene della salute di TUTTI, deve rimanere a casa?
Human ... why does humankind perceive danger only when it touches what is close to its own personal sphere?
Why can't he understand that, for the sake of ALL health, he must stay at home?
This golden-crowned sparrow was one of several that would venture out of the grass onto the edge of the path for a bite, then go back in if perceived danger was detected. Spotted at Jackson Bottom wetlands.
It's one thing to question your mind. It's another to question your eyes and ears. But then again, isn't it all the same? Our senses just mediocre inputs for our brain? Sure, we rely on them, trust they accurately portray the real world around us. But what if the haunting truth is they can't? That what we perceive isn't the real world at all, but just our mind's best guess? That all we really have is a garbled reality, a fuzzy picture we will never truly make out?
Saint Maryâs Cathedral is located in the historic center of Photi. In particular : Đ in todayâs Central Park. This location of the building was chosen because of the rays perceived from the street.
Photi is a city, which was built according to a plan. 12 squares were joining the central street (twelve Apostles sign) and the ray sign was created. The most important event in the history of Photi was the building of Guriaâ Samegrelo eparchyâs cathedral in 1906-1907 years, In whichâs construction, great contribution belongs to Niko Nikoladze.
The project was created by A.Zelenko. The project is the reduced analog of Constantinopleâs Hagia Sofia. Later, after that, R. Marpeld made some corrections in project, the project was approved. The church was entertained to hold 2000 prayers. The construction of the church was tasked to âBlack Sea Building Societyâ. The construction began in 6 July, 1906 and finished in September, 1907. It lasted for 1 year and 3 months. It was opened on 14 September âJvartamaglebaâ holiday. The churchâs foundation was blessed, by Guria-Samegrelo bishop, Giorgi.
On 22 May, 1907 the cross was erected on the dome of the church. Soviet government, turned the cathedral into theatre. In 2005, by the prayer-blessing of Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia, the cathedral returned to the Photi patriarchate ownage.

"There are three phases to awareness: to look, to see, and to perceive. A camera looks. A mind sees. A heart perceives." - Anonymous
The sun was obscured by the cloud cover which gave the field a soft light effect. I used a tripod with the camera level but low to the ground and captured three exposures at -2, 0, and +2 while using aperture priority (f/11). Then I merged them together in Adobe Lightroom to retain a dynamic range comparable to what my eyes perceived. I then used range and color masks to bring out the colors and luminosity in both sky and field.
somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near
your slightest look will easily unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully, mysteriously) her first rose
or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully ,suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;
nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility: whose texture
compels me with the color of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing
(i do not know what it is about you that closes and opens;
only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

âEverything you perceive is being filtered through your entire belief system. And the result of interpreting everything you perceive by using everything you believe is your personal dream, an entire virtual reality in your mind. Perhaps you can see how easy it is for humans to distort what we perceive. Light reproduces a perfect image of what is real, but we distort the image by creating a story with all those opinions and beliefs that we learned. We dream about it with our imagination, and by agreement we think that our dream is the absolute truth when the real truth is that our dream is a relative truth, a reflection of the truth that is always going to be distorted by all the knowledge we have stored in our memory."

The Royal Commission on the Defence of the United Kingdom, which Lord Palmerston had established in 1859 in response to a perceived threat of invasion by Emperor Napoleon III of France, recommended the fort's construction. When considering the defence of the Royal Dockyard at Pembroke Dock and the anchorage at Milford Haven, the Commissioners believed that there was a danger that an enemy force might conduct an amphibious landing on a beach on the southern Pembrokeshire coast followed by an overland attack on the naval facilities. The Commissioners envisioned a chain of coastal artillery forts extending along the coast from Tenby to Freshwater West covering all the potential landing sites; ultimately, only this fort at Tenby was constructed. Sunshine brings out the highlights in our flowers, leaves and shrubs. Brightness makes a difference in the way we perceive the things in our lives that mean so much to us. Gratitude and Kindness should surround us thus bringing us joy daily.
Springtime changes so quickly depending on weather and which cat is perceiving it. As for the "shedding" part, compare the size of her bib here, with the photo that was in last week's Happy Caturday (taken in January this year)... already much diminished. As for "Sniffing", Tikki did spend time smelling the Vinca (periwinkle) flowers as well as the lawn (which also became salad) but sun in springtime was much too interesting to stop and pose nicely for me. (As for photography choices: she has no interest in daffodils or hyacinth, so vinca's the best spring flower I have right now. Tulips not for some days.) Happy Caturday theme 20 Mar 2021 (Vernal Equinox) "Spring."
I'm so sick & tired of being used by other people. The mental strength of a person has certain limits. There are times when you have to ask yourself....will I let myself be treated like garbage and dirt for even longer? I treat myself bad enough there is no room for people who only perceive me if their desire is not tangible. I'd rather stay alone than continue to swallow this garbage. But I am grateful to the few people in whose centers I stand
If I'm not important enough stay away from me!

This still makes me smile and was taken when I was sitting looking at photoâs on my phone whilst waiting for Jonathan who had nipped into a shop for a couple of items. I felt someone was looking at me so glanced up and saw the friendly smile of what I perceived as a bear - a Polar bear at that !
I took a snap from the car window but was so taken with the smile of the bear that I got out and took another lol..it made me smile at a time I didnât feel like smiling so I keep it on my phone. Have a wonderful weekend everyoneâŚ.Sue

Verse 1
Fast as lightning, this world can change
always by Godâs thoughts, always by Godâs watch.
Things will come, things man never dreamed.
What theyâve long had may slip away.
Chorus
No one can fathom the footsteps of God.
No one can grasp the grandeur of His power.
Transcending, He perceives what man canât see.
Though mankind turns Him away, He saves them still;
and this is the greatness of God.
Verse 2
He understands life and death, He knows the rules of life.
Heâs the foundation for manâs life.
Great Redeemer, He resurrects mankind.
Happy hearts He weighs down, sad hearts He lifts up.
Chorus
No one can fathom the footsteps of God.
No one can grasp the grandeur of His power.
Transcending, He perceives what man canât see.
Though mankind turns Him away, He saves them still;
and this is the greatness of God.

eastern bluebird fly by. From the Smithsonian: Red and yellow feathers get their color from actual pigments, called carotenoids, that are in the foods birds eat, blue is differentâno bird species can make blue from pigments. The color blue that we see on a bird is created by the way light waves interact with the feathers and their arrangement of protein molecules, called keratin. In other words, blue is a structural color. Different keratin structures reflect light in subtly different ways to produce different shades of what our eyes perceive as the color blue. A blue feather under ultraviolet light might look uniformly gray to human eyes.

This common tern and his/her partner had two chicks and were very protective of them. Throughout the day we watched them driving off numerous perceived threats, from swans to kites to ospreys, but it wasn't until we were about to leave at the end of the day that they all of a sudden also seemed displeased with our presence there and started to eye our hide suspiciously, leading to us getting the chance to bag a few very nice close-up shots. It goes without saying that we waited until they had calmed down again a little before finally making our way back to the car.

HAPPY FENCED FRIDAY !!
Oh my, POV (point of view) is so important to both how we perceive the world and how we present it to others through photographs. This "flotilla" of ducks had no idea that they were featured players in this complex image, full of reflections in slanted, late-afternoon light. The reflections are of a mysterious "water fence" near the bank of the Rhine in downtown Basel City.

âThis is the first really Spring day . . . . Something analogous to the thawing of the ice seems to have taken place in the air. At the end of Winter there is a season in which we are daily expecting Spring, and finally a day when it arrives . . . .
I perceive the Spring in the softened air . . . . Looking through this transparent vapor, all surfaces, not osiers and open water alone, look more vivid. The hardness of Winter is relaxed. â

While often celebrated for their remarkable color vision, our eyes possess the remarkable ability to discern different shades of gray as well. Research suggests that the human eye can distinguish approximately 30 shades of gray, enabling us to perceive depth and contrast in the world around us. Understanding the intricate mechanisms behind color and gray perception adds to our appreciation for the complexity and wonder of human vision.
A few weeks ago I was in the Black Forest and a colleague came there from Switzerland. Together we photographed the night sky from the Feldberg. The yellow-orange light you see below is not a sunset nor a sunrise, it is the heavy light pollution that we have here in Germany.
(The human eye doesn't perceive this as strongly as a camera.)

It's something we don't often ask. How long is it when we say now? Is it a heartbeat? Is it a second? Is it 1/100 of a second?
Some people say there is only now. There is no past, no future. I might say the reverse. There is only the past and the future. What ever slim overlap there is between the two we call now. Like a Venn diagram with two large circles indicating the past and the present, the sliver where they touch and perhaps overlap (but by how much?) is now.
I have read speculation that the two halves of our brains may not always perceive time at the same rate. One hemisphere may be slightly ahead of the other at times and thus we experience the feeling of having experienced something before. Like a time pre-echo. This might explain dĂŠjĂ vu.

You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

Blue Ridge Mountains. View from Skyline Drive. The Blue Ridge Mountains are known for having a bluish color when seen from a distance. Trees put the "blue" in Blue Ridge, from the isoprene released into the atmosphere. This contributes to the characteristic haze on the mountains and their perceived color.
