I had a day off and decided to go to the beach. When I arrived at the seashore after a 1.5 hour drive, it was freezing -13c, the wind was from the sea and the sun was shining from a cloudless sky, the weather was beautiful and bitterly cold. The icy beaches and rocks were really beautiful. I saw in my mind the hundreds of pictures that I could photograph during the day. But the weather was so cold that both me, my dog and my camera gradually froze like the landscape. We were on the beach for 3.5 hours, I made a campfire and made coffee and heated food for myself and my dog, but in the end I decided to go home, Helmi looked so miserable. I only managed to get a few good photos with a frozen camera and icy fingers. Sometimes I wonder what drives me to take photos despite the circumstances. Maybe you know that feeling too.

This ICM photo was taken from the same place in the forest as the previous photo. This ICM version shows nicely why I like it so much as a technique. The green moss stripe from the previous photo started coloring the ICM photo when I moved my camera. Now green is between all tree trunks and not just as a thin stripe on the ground. So simple. Or then not 😁 👱♀️🎧🎶 Let’s Stick Together ( Bryan Ferry ). Finland, on a dark grey November afternoon.

I live in an area where there is a lot of nature shaped by the ice age, ridges, boulders and there are large stones or rocks smoothed by ice on the sea shores. The spirit of the North lives here. And I 😊

After a long walk, from Sapa (North Vietnam) to a small village where I spent the night (I do not remember the name), the next morning I took pictures of the surroundings when on my right, I noticed a child looking at me. I was something new to him.

Today's photo is honouring the Beatles since today is Global Beatles Day - "a day honoring and celebrating the phenomenon and ideals of the Beatles, collectively and individually, for their gifts to the world including, but not limited to, their promotion of peace and love, of truth and youth, and of the expansion of human consciousness." It is a day to reflect on how the Beatles impacted the world globally in terms of culture and music. The day was founded in 2009 by Faith Cohen. It takes place on June 25th, because that marks the day that the first live satellite production was broadcasted globally. It was a British program titled Our World, and it ended with the Beatles' performance of "All You Need Is Love". Artists from nineteen countries were included in the program, and it is estimated that at least 400 million people watched it, which was the largest television audience up until that time."
I am today years old to finally notice that Paul McCartney was not wearing any shoes for the photo of this album cover. 😂
The “line_up“ is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The “liners” are made out of paper (Din A3/A4),
oil paint and graphite. The theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers.

Winston's Churchill's V for Victory sign is perhaps one the most iconic of the Second World War. Though it started with a simple radio broadcast, the symbol took Europe by storm and became a rallying emblem for those under occupation. 75 years on from VE Day, V stands for far more than Victory, it stands for solidarity, resistance and never giving up. But where does it actually come from?
With the arrival of spring and the good weather, I hope that all this pendemic will end, I hope that there are still good people, I have faith in the good things, in life, in friends, in love. ... looking for a reason to believe ... as the song says ...
