The sun came out after a rainy night. Bokeh from drops on the mesquite tree. Such solace in the garden.

Get your roller skates on - only 5 weeks until Christmas LOL. I have done almost all of my shopping and my grandchildren's presents are all wrapped to stop prying eyes. Miss Tatia loves Christmas (like me) and when she follows me into the spare room, I can see her eyes darting around to see if she can spot any clues. I tease her by saying that she doesn't really like Christmas, she just likes presents - she has been known to ask her Mum on Christmas Day "when is Easter" and at Easter "when is my birthday" LOL. It is a joy to watch her excitement at any time.

2011....will be hard to forget.

Setting a frenetic pace right from the word 'go', the year morphed into a spectacle of incredible contrasts. Defining and redefining history on numerous occasions, 2011 may well be remembered as one of the most significant years of this century in the days to come.

Death, destruction, bloodshed, mayhem and unprecedented violence all lie in its wake but then the year's also been a passionate celebration of human endurance, the will to survive and the desire to be free.

Difficult times ahead...the tortured human psyche finds it hard to smile these days, but hope beckons and We Shall Prevail. Here's to peace and the undying human spirit.....

Farewell 2011.

Welcome 2012.

(Reuploaded.....not choreographed.....A bouquet of roses placed by the side of the Lord......carelessly sprinkled with water......a drop trickled on to the Lord's eye...........A MIRACULOUS OVERWHELMING MOMENT......)

peace reigns...when all people are in unity...that Earth equally belongs with one another...to responsibly care for this...for future generations to be born...

peace for Humanity...is regardless of characteristics that brought disunity to many...but every human being is considered equally important for the welfare of all...

In life we pass many fence posts, never knowing where the road truly leads we follow the line until one day it ends. And at the end a new beginning awaits.

Here is the beautiful and deeply blue Bow River, bordered by majestic trees on either side (soon to have leaves, I hope!) and a grand, peaceful, fluffy-cloud-laden sky above!

This was taken Saturday afternoon at the dog run where it meets the river; there are various different riverside areas and they are usually always filled with dogs taking huge leaps off the riverbanks to make equally huge splashdowns in the water!

Happy Easter, everybody!

Is that asking for too much?

P.S. Look at all those ORNAMENTS, G! ;)

The idea for this image was inspired by the t-shirt Nic is wearing, however i could not realize it without the roots. On wednesday we took a family outing to a farm outside of Windhoek and i searched a riverbed that had had some flow after the rains.

Namibia does not have constantly running/ flowing rivers apart from the rivers that grace our borders on the north and south of the country. Our rainfall and climate is such that only in the rainy season some of our river's flow. Often some come down with such force that people drown, trees are washed away etc.

I was looking for roots that were exposed and a river bank that would give me the foundation of this creation. Fortunately i found a couple of good spots. I composed the entire image from the source images of that day aside from the stars.

I think the image and title speak for themselves and once again a lot symbolic meaning infused into it.

Have a wonderful sunday!

Early to bed, early to rise.

Sometimes, we don't know why,

But, hey, it's like this.

Also, we laugh, too,

Or else we enjoy so.

We have fun, we live, we dance,

We forget, we care, we think ...

It's very funny, or not at all,

Or if, or we do not care ...

Often it doesn't make sense,

And also, that's just lucky.

We fall, we pick ourselves up,

We grumble and we rehearse,

We break, and then nothing ...

It's love and then it's good,

Fears if it's hatred.

Cry not, you make me sorry ...

And what do you think about that then ?

It can also be death !

Or just the bad luck, yes.

In your eyes, it's all Paris,

The Eiffel Tower and the blue,

Green, then, if you think it's true !

Great, if everyone laughs,

Less if the Earth is mad ...

A small spring flower,

A swallow that flies to the winds.

A tree in its splendor ...

An entire forest that dies.

A clown that is all sad,

Or a child at Christmas with his list.

Sometimes it's just a little poetry,

That like that, This is Life.

When things look murky in our world

...find the beauty before you..because it continues on

when it feels foreboding and dangerous

...find the haven around you.. because it continues on

when life seems to be suddenly changing

...find the ground beneath you..because it continues on

when it is dark and damp and cold

...find the sun above you..because it continues on

strive to find the positive...and the blessing of reassurance

if it is stored within your heart...it is golden with continuance.
