www.pcoschallenge.org/symposium | The PCOS Awareness Symposium presented by PCOS Challenge, Inc. and UCLA Division of Reproductive Endocrinology featured world leading experts on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Presentations covered PCOS research updates; fertility; nutrition; emotional wellness; prevention of cardiovascular disease and diabetes in women with PCOS; and more. This event brought together clinicians, researchers, hundreds of women with PCOS and their supporters for a day of sharing experiences, insights and the latest updates about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a complex hormonal disorder for which there is no cure. For many women and girls it means having to face daily battles with a range of symptoms that can vary from woman to woman such as infertility, obesity etc
PCOS is a physical and emotional drain on many individuals with the syndrome due to the devastating external manifestations and hormonal imbalances produced as a result of this syndrome. Additionally, many women with PCOS are insulin resistant, a condition that raises the level of insulin circulating in the body and in many cases causes women with PCOS to become overweight or obese.
pcos5k.org | The Bolt for PCOS 5K Run/Walk is the largest event in the U.S. dedicated to raising awareness and funds to help fight polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The event is hosted by Omega Phi Alpha National Service Sorority and benefits PCOS Challenge, Inc., the country's leading 501(c)(3) public charity advancing the cause for women and girls with PCOS. Proceeds from the Bolt for PCOS event go toward PCOS education, health screenings, grants, research and support programs, as well as increasing awareness and public support for those with the condition.

I was happy to drop the first ball and present the trophy at the PCO Ball Hockey Tournament in support of the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC). Congratulations to the winning team, and thank you to all participants for your valuable contribution to the GCWCC. What a great example of helping others, while staying active too.
