A shot from my S Scale urban model railroad. I hand laid the girder rail tracks and then created the individual cobblestones around them. This is from one of two model railroads that I have built. You can see more of my model railroad photos in this album:

24 PCC's were built in Belgium in 1950 and used on the SNCV-Charleroi network until 1960. They were then sent to Belgrad. One unit was brought back to Belgium by the ASVi and given number 10409, as its original number remains unknown. Own charter, May 2026
The latest issue of ‘Passenger Train Journal’ has marked the 90th anniversary of the entry of the PCC streetcar into urban transit service. A 1940s advert features a Philadelphia PCC streetcar. A consortium of US streetcar operators liaised with manufacturers to devise a vehicle that could match contemporary automobiles in offering a smooth and safe ride, as well as elegant styling. Such was the success of the PCC streetcar that the type continues in daily service today, notably in Boston, El Paso, Philadelphia and San Francisco. After US production ceased in the early 1950s, the technology was licensed to European manufacturers, helping to ensure streetcar operation that has continued to this day.

A Septa PCC car crosses the B&O's Royal Blue route at grade in Upper Darby PA. The date is Sunday August 18th 1974. Note the crossing mechanism in the background is actually a repurposed semaphore mechanism; this lasted until a few years ago (there's still one in Cumberland MD at Knox st). While this photo depicts a tranquille scene, that was not the case in December 2021 when my westbound trailer train struck a Septa streetcar that was fouling this very crossing. Luckily nobody died. PCC-III #2427 rolls east on Route 15 in the City Of Brotherly Love. It's a sunny Friday morning, and the "jawns" (if you know, you know) are going about their business on Girard Avenue, as I make my way home from a night on the town with a couple expatriate college friends.
Two watco GP40s head south along the Pleasant Valley Branch on there way back to Endicott to tie up for the day.
The PCCs crew that morning started along the western portion of the line while we started out eastern, driving from Mockonema to Endicott. When we got to Endicott, there was no sign of any of the three WAMX locomotives assigned to the line. So we asked around the NWGG elevator and they suggested we head north to Sunset as PCC was supposed to pick up a couple loads there sometime soon. Instead, we ran into the 4043 and 4046 curving around the wye at Winona and onto the PV branch. They grabbed a fairly long cut of PCC/CWW/WAMX hoppers assigned to this specific line and headed north. Originally, I thought they might be headed all the way north to Sunset but instead, they only went as far as Willada before dropping the whole train off and heading back south as just power. We chased them back south, however the lighting was not ideal, if they had went all the way to Sunset, we may have got better light for the SB journey. I did end up getting lucky with this shot though. I hadn’t originally seen this spot but as they were headed away I decided to grab a shot anyway and the clouds and train lined up perfectly to give me this shot.

Elisabethlaan.

On the first day of revenue service in 12 years, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) PCC III no. 2326 is seen departing the Richmond & Westmoreland Loop, heading west towards Girard Ave. Though trolley service on the entire Route 15 was suspended in 2020, service east of Girard and Frankford was suspended in 2012 due to construction work on I-95.

El Paso Streetcar does a nice job of decorating for holidays. Car 1511 looks like a jack'o'lantern while the inside is also ghouloshly decorated. This was seen on Father Rahm Ave just a few blocks from the US-Mexico border.
