I finished the first draft of the pcb last night. Out of interest I got a quote for fabrication with Fritzing... 84 Euros!!!! Either I find somewhere a lot cheaper or looks like I'll be sticking with the perfboard version!

After toner applied. I used Toner Transfer Paper from Pulsar (http://www.pulsarprofx.com/pcbfx/main_site/pages/products/transfer_paper/transfer_paper.html) and it worked well.

Here's a completed pair of the etched copper earrings I've been making.
You can't quite see it here but there's a thick layer of hardened clear coat protecting the face.

Early attempt at designing PCBs using ExpressPCB. The green is the back of the board, the red is the top, and the yellow is the silk screen (in case I can find a cheap enough place to make me a small batch).

After Green TRF applied over toner. I used Toner Transfer Paper from Pulsar (http://www.pulsarprofx.com/pcbfx/main_site/pages/products/toner_foils/toner_foils.html). I wasn't as successful getting it to stick evenly to the toner, but with more experimenting I think I can do better. I used a sharpie to coat the thicker sections to make sure they were well protected from the etchant.

this board (and the whole scope inside) seems to be in good shape. it looks like it was a california unit, with no rust at all. some units I see have rusted screws and nuts, but this one is totally clean. cars out in calif also have no rust on them (usually) whereas east coast cars end up being rust-buckets in just a few years.
the seller was in san diego and its not too likely that he had it shipped very far. it made a short trip up to me, in the san fran bay area.
The PCB for M2FC, Martlet 2's flight computer.
The flight computer features three K-type thermocouple inputs, three strain gauge half-bridge inputs, three 1A pyrotechnic outputs, a full IMU (±20g and ±200g 3axis accelerometers, 3axis gyro and magno, barometric pressure), a micro SD card for datalogging and a serial interface to the radio and other peripherals.
