Happy 80th Birthday, Paul!

Thank you for accompanying my whole life with your wonderful songs and stay well!

First of a new set of images of murals and street art in my city. Paul McCartney, by Paul Curtis, who is one of the premier mural artists in the Liverpool region.

For the encore, Macca was joined by Ronnie Wood and RINGO STARR for the loudest rendition of 'Get Back' ever heard. Closest I'll ever get to a Beatles concert. Brilliant!

Something" is a single released by The Beatles in 1969, and featured on the album Abbey Road. It was the first song written by George Harrison to appear on the A-side of a Beatles single.

The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The core lineup of the band comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They are widely regarded as the most influential band in Western popular music.

A member of the group, Paul McCartney, had developed an early interest in photography. His photos of the group, taken at the height of Beatlemania (1963-64) constitute a visual record of a pivotal moment in popular culture.

This photo from McCartney's collection was seen and photographed at an exhibition entitled 'Paul McCartney, Photographs 1963-64: Eyes of The Storm' at the deYoung Fine Arts Museum (FAMSF) in San Francisco, California.

To the National Portrait Gallery in London to see the exhibition of Paul McCartney’s candid 'on the road' photographs from the early 1960s, when the Fab Four were at their zenith.

The first thing that struck me was that McCartney really did have a photographer’s eye, way back when he was in his early twenties. The other thing that absolutely shone through was the affection these guys had for each other; it’s also obvious that John, George and Ringo were completely relaxed in front of Paul’s camera – and all these decades later, we are the beneficiaries.

For anyone interested in the sixties, pop music and social history, this exhibition was unmissable. It ran until 1st October and was an outstanding contribution to London's 2023 cultural life.

I made this for my friend's birthday.

I declare June 18 Paul McCartney Day, a world holiday.

Day out with ianbartlett and ajlelliott for a circluar walk from Pett Level to Icklesham.

I think everyone in the area knows who owns this windmill. It can be seen for miles and I kept shouting out, "get the kettle on Paul, we're on our way" :) However, I don't think he heard me, as there weren't any cups of tea waiting for us as we walked by :)

This was a cute little wooden tribute to the Fab Four at 70 penny Lane. It is a sort of copy of the Help album cover. and shows Paul George Ringo & John ( L to R ) I think that's right anyway!

I just thought it looked good as a silhouette against the sky...

For anyone who enjoys Beatles memorabilia, this has been the place to be: the gift shop at the Paul McCartney photo exhibition, which ran at the National Portrait Gallery in London in 2023.

McCartney’s candid photographs from the early 1960s, when the Fab Four were at their zenith, create a loving, intimate visual account of life on the road. It was manic, yes, but the guys were young enough to take it all in their stride. And thank goodness Paul was interested in photography, because what we have here is a unique and irreplaceable record of the most frenetic time in pop music history.

#PaulMcCartney 2010

I don’t remember what inspired me to organize the layout for this still life in May 2020... Maybe I was reading Paul’s biography by Philip Norman, The Life, which I had bought a while ago but never found the time to read... Seeing, inside it, photos of Linda photographing Paul made me head back to her own photo book, Life in Photographs, and then I realized that, in the snapshot at the bottom, she is using a black Nikon F with Photomic FTn viewfinder and lightmeter, the exact twin brother of my own first serious camera, which I bought in the early 1970s... Hers, being from 1967 or earlier, was another version, maybe a Photomic TN.

This is a Paul McCartney song from the 2005 album "Chaos and creation in the backyard", produced by Nigel Godrich. It is a song about John Lennon and Paul's friendship for him.

In these days, I feel it's a song about me also.

And about a friendship that never existed at all.

"I think I've heard enough of your familiar song."

"I bit my tongue

I never talked too much

I tried to be so strong

I did my best

I used the gentle touch

I've done it for so long

You put me down

But I can laugh it off

And act like nothing's wrong

But why pretend

I think I've heard enough

Of your familiar song

I tell you what I'm going to do

I'll try to take my mind off you

And now that you don't need my help

I'll use the time to think about myself

You're not aware

Of what you put me through

But now the feeling's gone

But I don't mind

Do what you have to do

You don't fool anyone

I'll tell you what I'm going to do

I'll take a different point of view

And now that you don't need my help

I'll use the time to think about myself

The definition of friendship

Apparently ought to be

Showing support for the one that you love

And I was open to friendship

But you didn't seem to have any to spare

While you were riding to Vanity Fair

There was a time

When every day was young

The sun would always shine

We sang along

When all the songs were sung

Believing every line

That's the trouble with friendship

For someone to feel it

It has to be real or it wouldn't be right

And I keep hoping for friendship

But I wouldn't dare to presume it was there

While you were riding to Vanity Fair."
