Looking down from near Dale Head, a touch of light hits the valley floor.

This young male Common Merganser is transitioning from juvenile to adult plumage. A few feathers from his previously brown head are still visible.

Nights are still cold, but sun during the days has strong power and patches of snow-free ground can be seen here and there.

THIS IS LAST YEAR'S SINCE THE COVID SHUT DOWN THE 2020 OPENING

That time of year is upon us. Autumn and Halloween.

Yes another Bluebell shot, my focus was on the the patch of Bluebells and to throw out the background of Wild garlic slightly . As the weather forecast is good and sunset is at 21.10 co insides with high tide i`m off to Bosham harbour this evening to see what light occurs.

This is a little safety ID patch put on specialized clothing for flame resistance markers.

Along the waterfront one can see patches on the snow covered lake; they are probably open patches of water. Patches of shrub and grass show through the snow.

I captured this image shortly after sunrise in the upper Clarée valley. Clouds moved swiftly, filtering sunlight that occasionally managed to illuminate the steep cliffs of the Cerces massif. Several marsh marigold bushes, growing in a wetland crossed by snowmelt streams, provided an ideal foreground. The vibrant yellow of the flowers echoed the pockets of light on the mountain.

Fish ponds? Reality is difficult to tell from above. They don't appear like rice paddies or at least there are no discernible rows of rice. What is obvious is that they were drying up as it is summer season in Makassar these days. Without a doubt, landscapes look different when you are not on the ground.

L'autunno per alcuni è una stagione fredda, grigia, umida e triste.

Invece può essere il momento in cui la natura dipinge e si prepara ad una nuova rinascita, qualche mese dopo

Captured at the beautiful Emerald Valley Nature Center, Lake Yojoa, Honduras, this Orange-patched Crescent (Anthanassa drusilla) showcases the vibrant biodiversity of the region. With its intricate patterns and vivid colors, this butterfly is a testament to the extraordinary work of Robert Gallardo and Olivia Diaz in preserving this sanctuary. Shot at 1/60 second, this image highlights the delicate balance of nature and the importance of conservation efforts. Emerald Valley hosts over 700 butterfly species, more than half of Honduras's total, making it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts.

From my experience as a conservation-focused photographer, each shot is an opportunity to raise awareness and appreciation for our natural world. Join me in celebrating and supporting these vital conservation efforts.

30th December 2019

This photo of Sam & Patches popped up on my memories on my iPhone yesterday. It brought a tear to my eye.

We re-homed brother & sister in 2014. They were just 5 years old.

The people who had them before us never told us when they were no longer wanted.

They were loved and wanted at our house.

Unfortunately Sam passed away in January 2022, and Patches in August 2022.

They were two beautiful and brilliant dogs. We loved them to bits. They went everywhere with us.

We love Herbie just the same way, and we got him when he were 9 weeks old in January 2023.

Later this year we plan to re-home a brother or sister for him.

This photo was taken on a new year break in Wales, just as we arrived at Dinas Dinlle beach.
