The Don Valley Parkway (DVP) is a controlled-access six-lane municipal expressway in Toronto. The parkway runs through the parklands of the Don River Valley, after which it is named. The parkway has a length of 15.0 km (9.3 miles). The parkway operates well beyond its intended capacity of 60,000 vehicles per day and is known for daily traffic jams; some sections carry an average of 100,000 vehicles a day.
Salmon Street Springs, or Salmon Street Fountain, is an outdoor water fountain at the intersection of Naito Parkway at Southwest Salmon in Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland, Oregon, United States. It was designed by Robert Perron Landscape Architects and Planners and dedicated in 1988. The fountain's three water displays, which are regulated by a computer, are called "bollards", "misters", and "wedding cake".
According to Portland Parks & Recreation, the fountain can recycle up to 4,924 US gallons of water per minute through as many as 137 of its 185 jets. Salmon Street Springs is considered "interactive" and open from 6:00am to 10:00pm during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months. (Wikipedia)

My wife and I took a last run up to the Blue Ridge Parkway north of Asheville to see the June rhododendrons once more before the blooms drop. This was taken around 6:30pm around Mt. Mitchell as we headed toward Craggy Gardens for sunset. Being up there this time of year is just good for the soul.
This is a 3-shot HDR.

I took two different shots of 50050 Fearless as it ran light through East Midlands Parkway. The obvious shot was the other which was much wider and included the cooling towers of the adjacent Ratcliffe Power Station. I particularly liked the sky here so took a punt on uploading this relict close up shot of the now 55 year old veteran.
These high elevation summits are home to the most spectacular floral display along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mid to late June is usually prime time for viewing the pink and purple blooms of rhododendron that blanket much of the Craggies.
Macdonell Island is one of a chain of eleven islands in the St. Lawrence River connected by the six-mile Long Sault Parkway. These islands are the hilltops of land that was flooded in the development of the St. Lawrence River in the 1950s.

The Blue Ridge Parkway in January, near Black Balsam Knob, Pisgah National Forest (NC). The road was unfortunately closed, so we couldn't park at Black Balsam, but we did hike the Mountains-to-Sea trail which follows the ridge to the right of the parkway (and looped back to the car via the Blue Ridge Parkway).

Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. The Icefields Parkway links Lake Louise with Jasper. It is one of the most beautiful drives in the world according to numerous sources. Spectacular scenery abounds as the parkway winds along the Continental Divide through the Canadian Rockies.
My wonderful Labor Day weekend trip to Jasper National Park. I had the time of my life there with amazing sights all around. it drizzled pretty much throughout the day. I was sad that I couldn't take any night shots as it rained over there all night, but day time was wonderful! It even snowed at Athabasca Glacier!
