ACCA yard in Richmond, Virginia has been very busy the last couple of day. We see as the day dies down and the yard job is able to work the yard without any interference from mainline trains. 8254 is passing by the yard office with Y122 & L134 power sitting idle waiting for tomorrows trains.
I think its pretty clear that i was here for the 4419.. With YN2 fading every other day, YN2 on EMD engines is next to impossible to find. At the time of posting this there are only 9 EMD YN2 engines left on roster. 4 of which are in storage. 4419 is one of two GP40-2 left in serves on CSX with a nice, Clean YN2 coat of paint on display.

(btw this is what i approximately look like after painting some new toy or finishing doll's make-up^^)
Something about the graffiti and the Crown Paints sign drew me to this composition. The pylons and gasometer aren't ideal but it was the best composition I could find.
The fine print says 'The Mark of Quality'. Always fun to fun old ghost signs in small town North Carolina.

My wife and I went up to visit my father-in-law last night, and, on a whim, I threw my vintage SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 lens on via adapter (see my article on FotodioX Pro adapters here: bit.ly/1JHs9Ct). The Fotodiox Pro adapter allows me to have infinity focus with my SMC Tak without hitting the mirror, which is a definite bonus. As we were driving up to his house, I saw the great cloud striations in the sky and knew that a killer sunset was on the way. I was very glad that I had brought my camera. Sure enough, the colors were soon setting in, and I slipped off to fire off a few frames. Here is one of many fantastic images I got last evening. When God paints, it sure is fantastic!

I had a little splurge out and replaced my little set of half pans...I wasn't intending too but amazon sent me a recommendation, (just for me! :) with a special offer reduced from Ā£65 to Ā£21...how could I resist? now I just have to paint something...if I can remember how :)

from this mini-Creation adventure. Spotted these two Paints, unfortunately they were in the deep shade on a bright and sunny Florida October day. So I jiggled and juggled and went with black and white. They were beautifully colored, but I was on the side of the road, and this is the best I got. For me if no one else even likes it!
Came back from Hobby Lobby a few hours from taking and putting this picture on Flickr. Got some model color waterbased acrylics that go by the brand name Vallejo. A guy that I watch uses these for painting his Legos so I might as well use them lol. I also got a matt tarnish, which helps prevent the paint from scratching.
From what I could see in their windows, they had a very unique collection of goodies. Hardware, paint and things for the kitchen. Apparently, they are no more. I hope the sign is still there...

Painted Hills Unit near Mitchell, OR
The color variations are beautiful and the various colors appear different depending on the light as well. Beautiful place!
Early morning sunlight paints the Giant's Playground in soft golden hues. The place is aptly named, as it is strewn with huge granite boulders of granite & sandstone balanced precariously one on top of another. It is a "Lego Play Block Land" for a Giant indeed. The Quiver Trees, which are endemic only to this southern Namibian region are named so, as in the past, the bushmen used the branches of this tree to store their arrows.
When the Creator paints the night sky with light using his full palette . . . words fail. Northern Lights pulsate with beams of colors over Lake Nokomis in Tomahawk on March 23, 2023.
