The life of a dog and the dog owner (that is me):
The bigeye arrived at christmas time with just over twelve kilos and is now almost fifteen! I don't think he eats a lot, but he gets a lot of rest! He sleeps all afternoons and all night! It is very clean, he knows that here in the "mansion" there is no bathroom for him. He likes everyone who gets involved with him on the street, he makes a point of greeting all the other dogs and if they are āgirlsā he immediately falls in love!
Yesterday we found two āchic girls" that cost a thousand euros each, the owners went to get them from a breeder near Lisbon. They talked to me about their princesses, dressed in beautiful clothes full of bows. One of the couples had a daughter who was maybe six years old, she was delighted with āMatiasā she lifted his paws to her shoulders to hug him, she thought he was cute. Her mother complained that she only liked big dogs and I told her to adopt one she liked. There were many dogs at the shelter where he came from!
I am happy with my little dog just eight months old . He forces me to go to bed early and wake up early, to exercise in the morning, sometimes we also go out in the afternoon and of course also at night before going to bed. He already knows the whole city up to some surroundings, he forced me to go where he wants, I had to buy rubber boots to walk in the fields because he chooses a bathroom in the middle of the vegetation.
Today it was foggy but we went to see the river and the small boats anchored under the bridge of the train.
This is my sweet dog, his name is"Matias", the name was not chosen by me, but for the volunteers that works in the shelter. :-)

The Renaissance castle of Fontaine-Henry was built by the family d'Harcourt and it took nearly a hundred years to finish it (hence it's mainly a Renaissance building, finished in 1560, but it has some details that are in the Gothic style known as Flamboyant). There was actually a fortress built here already in the 11th century and in the beginning of the 13th century this was replaced by a castle (which might explain why it next to the current castle stands a very medieval chapel).
And yes, that is a very steep roof. Steep and high. When it was built it aimed to be the highest roof in France (not the highest building, mind you, the highest roof). It's a beautiful castle, but that is a little bit weird!
The castle is still owned by people who are direct descendants of the family who first started building this castle - though the surname has sometimes changed and the current owners carry the name dāOilliamson - since it a few times was inherited by women. The house is still privately owned, but the interior can be visited on guided tours (no photography allowed, though).
This week's assignment for Macro Mondays is "Lost/Found". At first it was a bit of a struggle to find a subject, but last weekend I was shooting pictures in my garden and I found this cochlea. The owner was lost and it even had a hole in the shell in the shape of a heart. Then it became a challenge to take a picture that was good enough to post on Flickr and Macro Mondays. I am totally satisfied with the outcome. I hope you like it too.
Thanks for your views, comments and faves. I appreciate it!
Have a wonderful Monday! HMM!
"You finally noticed me..."
The man was very disappointed when he saw me passing nearby with a camera and not capturing his beauty on two wheels. The only thing left for me was to go back and take a couple of photos. It all happened without a spoken sentence.

This type of spider nets are seen often along the river flowing in the valley bottom this season. However, I have never found the spiders. The owners of the nets seem to be a long sleeper.
That's not a dog, that's a horse is what I told his owner ;-) I met him on my bike ride the other day. He's a Great Dane!
Dutch : from a Germanic personal name meaning 'noble stone'. I was quite taken by him and the feeling was mutual. I planned a doggie play date with Alstein and Rooster, I'll let you know how it goes.
A wreck of an old ship that lies along the Sligo coast, I think this one is beyond repair... Sad to see all the skills that went into building this slowly diminish with every passing storm
Vehicles hustle across the Antioch Bridge spanning the San Joaquin River in morning traffic.
I was determined to find an unobstructed angle in which to feature the steep rise of this bridge. Entering an unlocked gate in the 2am hour, I made my way along this private section of Sherman Island. By the time I was ready to leave, the gate had been padlocked shut and I spent a few extra hours confined to this area until an unhappy property owner chided me for my trespassing ways. He then allowed me to exit.

Happy Caturday! - Owner's Choice
I decided to go with a shot taken this week. Woody just finished nibbling on the ornamental grass and is now waiting to throw it up. My wife and I waited for him to throw it all up outside, but we obviously didn't wait long enough. His mommy had to clean up after him. It's a good thing she loves her baby. Happy Caturday!
The traditional owners of Rottnest Island are the Whadjuk Noongar people. The name for Rottnest Island in the Noongar language is Wadjemup, which means āplace across the water where the spirits areā. During the last ice age, approximately 6,000-7,000 years ago, Wadjemup was connected to the mainland.
This is where the boats are moored .
In Summer they don't move, park and stay there for weeks.
All the toilet waste is dumped into the sea, if you stand on the jetty you can see toilet paper in the water.
This happens anywhere there are boats and ships the toilet waste is dumped into the sea.
The Greens don't say anything about this.
The Lƶwenburg (Lion's Castle) was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1793 in Kassel's Bergpark Wilhelmshƶhe. It served its owner, Landgrave Wilhelm IX of Hesse-Kassel, as a private retreat.
The late Dennis Avery, land owner of Galleta Meadows Estates in Borrego Springs, California, envisioned the idea of adding 'free standing art' to his property with original steel welded sculptures created by 'Perris Jurassic Park' owner/artist/welder Ricardo Breceda based in Perris, California. There are over 130 metal sculptures located in Borrego Springs.
A part of American history and local folklore meet at Singer Castle on Dark Island, located on the St. Lawrence River. Singer Castle is the only remaining/existing castle on our river to be completed, fully furnished and resided in during the heyday of the great builders and industrials in New York. Calumet and Castle Rest (Pullman) were both completed and lived in. (And both were prior to Towers.) The Castle remained in the possession of the original owners, the Bourne family, from its construction in 1905 until the mid 1960ās. Frederick Bourne was the fifth President of the Singer Sewing Machine Company, which is where the name āSinger Castleā came from. When the Bourne family summered there, it was called āThe Towersā which comes from the inspiration that Ernest Flagg, the architect whom designed this structure, had after reading the book Woodstock by Sir Walter Scott.
This moment made me smile . The dog was sitting so patiently whilst his owner was trying to take his photo . Happy weekend everyone :))
After driving 10 years for a large taxi company, he was able to save up to buy a coveted medallion and is now a successful owner-operator
Back In February I got the chance to do a winter meetup in the Canadian Rockies and it was a lot of good times and even better conditions. This image is from the Two Jack Lake area and we got a really nice sunrise but the lake was frozen and not much going on in terms of foreground so this image was taken inches from the ground to make the tiny little s-Curve look larger due to the distortion of the wide angle lense. Then used the transform tool to extend the length with the highlight dodge tool to extend it into the middle ground. This helped the image with the foreground and connecting the background.
Thanks for looking !
owner named his Mopar "outta control"...certainly aptly named with this as his engine combo

Today I went into my local Tim Hortons to buy a Smile Cookie but they were all sold out. What is a Smile Cookie, you ask? A Smile Cookie is a chocolate chunk cookie decorated with blue eyes and a pink smile made from frosting and they are being sold for $1 this week at participating Tim Horton's restaurants as part of the Smile Cookie campaign. All proceeds of the cookies are donated by the restaurant owners to a local charity, hospital or community program. Last year the campaign raised $7.8 million dollars. That is a lot of smiles!!! Since I couldn't buy a Smile Cookie today I opted for a sprinkled vanilla donut instead. I know this isn't the cookie, but it made me smile! haha
I hope you all had a great day filled with lots of smiles!
One bird that you'll typically see all alone, Eastern Phoebes don't flock together and seldom interact except for mating purposes, with the female giving the male his eviction notice as soon as eggs are laid...
Fun fact: The Eastern Phoebe became the first banded bird in North America, in 1804, when John James Audubon tied silver thread to one's leg to track its return in subsequent years as they often return to their old nest!
Owners of old or special cars are allowed to park right in front of the Louwman Museum in The Hague. This is a Peugeot 301, built from 1932 until 1936. It has a 1.6 litre engine. Since 2012 the number 301 is reused ny Peugeot on some markets for a saloon model.

On a rainy, misty afternoon, my youngest fella, Rylan and I decided to head out to test some new photo gear we had purchased. The conditions were not ideal, but with the greatly appreciated bout of rain that was falling, the opportunity was there to capture some decent water flow!
I had heard of a place named Water Nymph Dell, which seemed quite photogenic so off we went in search of water Nymphs!!
There are two entry points to the Dell, we choose the Glenview Rd Wentworth Falls entry to the north. Heading down took us around 20-25 minutes on a steep decline.
Itās a beautiful spot with a lovely rainforest feel. If you want to see the Dell at itās finest, one needs to visit after heavy rain and youāll see the water flowing at its best. The rocks here are all covered in beautiful moss, and the stream weaves in interesting twists and turns amongst tree-roots and fallen trunks.
The other waterfall we shot was the ever popular Empress Falls, at Wentworth Falls, starting at the Conservation Hut. This was to be my first time in actually photographing this picturesque bundle of tumbling turbulence. Empress was quite full and with mist and rain greeting us, made for some challenging captures.

Ultra rare Datsun Laurel 2-door version. It looks like a Coupe, and from some angle it looks like a pick-up with a closed lid. I've never seen this version before. Not even on photos.
In some markets this Datsun is known as Nissan Laurel 2.0 DeLuxe.
The original colour used to be red.
These square double headlights came in Autumn 1977 to replace the round ones.
The Datsun/Nissan Laurel range was available from 1968 to 2002 divided over eight generations. This 200L is from the Third generation.
This third generation Laurel was designed by Shinichiro Sakurai (Jap, 1929-2011). He worked for Prince Motor Corporation. In 1966 he moved to Nissan Motor corporation, after Prince merged with Nissan. Here hes was responsible for the Nissan Skyline series.

Parked in front of Junk and Disorderly on Main Street during the 2023, AutoFest in Ramona. I did not see the registration # on this vehicle but did talk to owner ,who bought this Ford Truck, from a barn in Ramona as is, I believe. He said he was presenting the truck as is the day when it was purchased.
