I owe my new Flickr friend, Keith, a big thank. His beautiful gallery is full of gorgeous images with inspiring colours and flowers, especially small flowers that talked to me into painting this brilliant capture KEITH - JUST CLICK’S WITH A CAMERA - TWIRLING BUTTERFLIES
Thank you, Keith, for your artistic Twirling Butterflies that brought inspiration to my sketchbook, and for your generous heart which allows me to paint some of them.
Dog And Butterfly
Heart
There I was with the old man
Stranded again so off I'd ran
A young world crashing around me
No possibilities of getting what I need
He looked at me and smiled
Said no, no, no, no, no child
See the dog and butterfly
Up in the air he likes to fly
Dog and butterfly
Below she had to try
She roll back down to the warm soft ground, laughing
She don't know why, she don't know why
Dog and butterfly
Well I stumbled upon your secret place
Safe in the trees you had tears on your face
Wrestling with your desires frozen strangers
Stealing your fires, the message hit my mind
Only words that I could find
See the dog and butterfly
Up in the air he like to fly
Dog and butterfly below she had to try
She roll back down to the warm soft ground
Laughing to the sky, up to the sky
Dog and butterfly

I owe you nothing
I be myself and I ain't fronting, eh, nah, nah, nah
I owe you nothing
I be myself and I ain't fronting, eh, nah, nah, nah
I don't have to smile for you
I don't have to move for you
I don't have to dance, monkey dance, monkey dance, monkey dance for you
See, I won't help you understand
I don't need no helping hand
See, these aren't tears, this is the ocean
These aren't fears, this is devotion

A small vintage Original "Steiff©" Figurine
Macki (Mecki) is a fictional character who originally comes from a puppet film by the Diehl brothers and later became the mascot of the "Hörzu©" Magazine as a comic character. The hedgehog owes its name to the former editor-in-chief of "Hörzu©", Eduard Rhein. The editorial hedgehog gave its name to the Mecki hairstyle :-)
Mucki and Macki are a pair of figurines produced by Steiff© and here Mucki is the hedgehog girl

Taken during a fleeting moment of colour down at Vermillion Lakes the other morning. This location is one of the most popular owing mainly to the fact that it is positioned so closely to the town of Banff.
This small section of lake alongside another small section nearby never freezes due to it being a hot spring. This gives us photographers the perfect opportunity to capture mirror reflections of Mt Rundle while the sun rises to its left. We arrived on location a good hour or so before sunrise to ensure that we bagged our spots ahead of any other photographers.

Concas (Conques in French) is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved medieval towns in France. It owes it's fame and richness to the church of Ste. Foy, and above all, being an important stage in the Way of St. James.
My late father always wanted to visit this place, so at least now I've been there.

non basta donar mimose
.
Donna fragile e forte insieme
capace di far crescere il mio seme
per riscaldare questa fredda vita
sei la fiamma più antica
Quanto disprezzo hai ricevuto
“Strega”, nell’Evo Medio bastava dire,
donandogli Mimose, Gigli e Rose

donating mimosas is not enough
.
… Fragile and strong woman at the same time
capable of making my seed grow
to warm this cold life
you are the oldest flame
How much contempt have you received
from a world that remained silent
to see you humiliated and raped
even from the man who loved you.
The story just whispered tells us
how serious was the damage and shame
that you suffered for the sinister prejudice
of a world that reserved for you the torture
For millennia you have counted for nothing
for your lover's abuse of power
"Witch", in the Middle Ages it was enough to say,
to see you in the flames and its coils
They show love to lovers and brides
giving him Mimosas, Lilies and Roses
are like flowers on a concrete grave,
if they then receive violence and betrayal!
But these offenses can be redeemed
simply by giving him Mimosas?
The man will understand that success is boasting
Does he owe it to the woman next to him?
She will never stop hoping
with her love she is ready to forgive
waits with trust from her beloved
that the debt of love be repaid
Suffering expects you to change
and with love you reciprocate it
hidden in her room with her tears
she wonders when will it be? Yes when?.

1948 Alvis TA14. And, like all Alvis cars, Alvis only supplied the chassis, drive train, and underpinnings with all being custom bodied by coachbuilders.
The Story of This Particular Car:
The TA-series Alvis was a new model offered after the close of World War II, from 1946 onward. Power for the TA was derived from a 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine and four-speed manual transmission which were both slightly improved from their prewar configurations. Three body styles were offered: a Sports Saloon by Mulliner, as well as Drophead Coupes by either Carbodies or Tickford.
Despite the TA 14’s origin as a premiere postwar model designed to reinvigorate Alvis’ production facilities towards civilian vehicles, it did better than anyone had hoped. More TA 14s were produced than any other model in the company’s history. It is further believed by the Alvis Owner’s Club that more examples have also survived than any other model, with much of this owed to the robust design and construction. By the end of 1950, the TA 14 had been phased out of production and replaced by the more powerful TA 21.
This particular TA 14 is clothed in the striking Drophead Coupe body supplied by Carbodies, one of just 400 examples believed produced. According to records from the Alvis Owner’s Club, the car was dispatched on 30 August 1948 to the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. where its first owner was employed as the Civil Air attaché. Nearly 40 years later, it appears for sale in a 1986 Alvis Club publication.
More recently, this TA 14 passed through collections in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Sun City West, Arizona prior to acquisition by the consignor in March 2005. It should be noted that several of the car’s previous owners were active members of the Alvis Owner’s Club who were enthusiastic and fastidious stewards of this particular chassis. As such, this nicely preserved TA 14 presently indicates fewer than 48,800 actual miles at time of cataloguing.
While within the consignor’s collection, this stately 1948 Alvis TA 14 Drophead Coupe by Carbodies has been carefully preserved and thoughtfully maintained. With fewer than 400 examples of its kind produced, this chassis is presented showing actual mileage and having benefitted from many years of enthusiast ownership. One would be hard pressed to find a more attractive postwar Alvis.
My parents started taking me and my brothers walking and then climbing over 50 years ago; a 20 minute break in the snow clouds reminded me of what I owe.
I think I owed you this picture, as previously I upload to my gallery a photography of one side of the port where you can see the buildings with windows, balconies, the tower that leads into the city and people strolling along the promenade surrounding the port. but it seems incongruous to present the picture of a great port in which not a single drop of water can be seen.
Continuing with the walk, and because this part of the port has a more or less square shape, came to a part where I could photograph the same area, but with the sea and boats included therein. The bottom line is the same as in the other photo uploaded before, but this time, the star is the sea and the reflections of the anchored yachts.
I have more pictures ready for upload, all of my most recent trip to Andorra , but I think this is necessary to understand what I explained in my previous photo of this site.
I also must admit that I like it. I hope you do too.

The Piazza del Duomo in Orvieto, as it's easy to tell from the name, clearly owes its existence to the Duomo. In the town of Orvieto, all roads lead to this piazza, just as all visitors to the town naturally turn their footsteps along the Via del Duomo that flanks the square's west side, towards the majestic cathedral that towers over every house and palazzo on the square. In fact, much of the piazza was built around the Duomo while it was being completed over a period of more than three hundred years.
The Maurizio Tower to the north of the square certainly was, with its funny little automated timekeeper and bell at the top built to mark the working day for workers building the Duomo. This tower is also an information point for tourists looking to learn about the MODO (the Museum of the Opera del Duomo of Orvieto) which is one of Italy's most precious cultural heritages.

At one time the Battersea Power Station provided west London with most of it's power from it's coal burning turbines, belching out smoke and adding to London's already abysmal air quality. The building itself is an art deco masterpiece and with it's 4 huge chimney stacks a real landmark in this part of south west London. In the past 10 years the decommisioned power station has been completely refurbished and it's now a retail shopping complex, albeit one that still owes a lot to it's original design. It now provides punters with a bit of retail therapy with lots of small shops and boutiques to wander around in.

This original object reproduces the shape of the Concertgebouw, on a scale of 1:40. Sound artist Ruben Nachtergaele has taken sound from literally every corner of the building, and created soundscapes that take the listener behind the scenes. We owe this miniature wooden Concertgebouw to Luc Roose.
Mosi Oa Tunya - Smoke That Thunders, and in June 2018, the noise from the Victoria Falls was truly 'thunderous'. Owing to the high volume of water flowing over the falls, towering clouds of drifting spray drenched the bridge, which was just what Cecil Rhodes commanded when he ordered the iconic structure to be built.
This was the view at sunrise as the Garratt loco disturbed the birds as it steamed across from the Zambian side of the river.

Owing to a bout of flu, I eventually recovered enough to try to get out regardless of the poor light and drizzle, feeling a bit desperate for photographic activity. Photographers on Skye will no doubt recognise this location, but it was the first time I had seen it 'infested' with sheep. I skirted around them, trying to keep my distance, not wanting them to bolt off, but they actually moved closer to me with the two in front almost charging at me. If it is possible for sheep to appear intimidating and menacing, this was it! I was reminded of the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail...'None shall pass!' If you know the film, you will recall that the Black Knight was eventually...butchered...
Just before the lockdown we had a trip to West Sussex (on the south coast of England) & were lucky to have some perfect weather the day we visited Arundel.
There are nearly 1,000 years of history at this great castle, situated in magnificent grounds overlooking the River Arun in West Sussex and built at the end of the 11th century by Roger de Montgomery, Earl of Arundel.
The building we see now owes much to Henry,15th Duke of Norfolk (1847-1917) and the restoration project was completed in 1900.
The castle is open to the public.
In 911, the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte, fixed the limits between Normandy and France, the border passes between Gournay and Gerberoy. The city developed with the construction of the first fortified castle in 923. The fortified castle, now disappeared, made this place a strategic location and one of the strongholds of defense of the Ile de France.
It was William the Conqueror who was the first to attack Gerberoy. The English and the French then fought over it, Gerberoy from the 11th to the 16th century. Then, with the civil wars, the wars of religion, Gerberoy was the witness and actress of many battles for nearly 800 years.
In 1202, Gerberoy received the title of “city” by Philippe Auguste.
In 1435, Gerberoy was the site of a historic battle of the Hundred Years War. Some of Joan of Arc's companions, including La Hire and Xaintrailles, were given the mission by Charles VII to rebuild the castle and the walls. At dawn on May 8, 1435, the French knights saw the English approaching the remarkable site of the Val d'Arondel.
A clever maneuver by the French allowed them to defeat the English garrison before it reached Gerberoy. Since then, this Val owes its name to the Count of Arundel, an English lord mortally wounded by the French. This victory greatly marked the history of France, proving that the French deprived of Joan of Arc, burned alive in Rouen on May 30, 1431, were still capable of driving the English out of France.
Gerberoy was burned several times, pillaged and sacked several times, until in 1592, the King of France, Henry IV, decided to dismantle the city and the castle. Once the storm has passed, Gerberoy has regained its calm and gentleness.

"Owing to its shy and retiring habits, it is seldom seen, but, if the observer lies concealed near some open place in the bog, he may catch a glimpse of it as it comes out to feed, stepping daintily over the bog, flirting its short tail up and down or spreading it out in display, and nodding its head back and forth with a graceful dovelike motion. Its toes are so long and its body is so light that it is easily supported on the lily pads or on a few floating reeds. It takes long steps when walking, but when running its tracks may be a foot apart. If alarmed by a sudden movement or sound, it runs to cover with lowered head and outstretched neck and with wings and plumage closely pressed against the narrowed body, as it slips out of sight in the narrow aisles between the reeds. Robert J. Sim (1911), who kept a sora rail in captivity until it became quite tame, says:
A rail which is quite at ease is very different in appearance from one that is frightened or at all nervous. Most birds of this kind to be seen in taxidermal collections look as if they had been "scared stiff"--a state of things which is, perhaps, consistent enough. But a live, comfortable rail going about his own business is as graceful a bird as you could find, and plump like a guinea hen or a Hubbard squash. The tail is carried in a horizontal position or droops slightly. On the other hand, when filled with apprehension the bird is very slim, the head is lowered and extended, and the tail is cocked up or is twitched up at every step."
Masterpiece of Francesco Borromini.
The Church is also known as San Carlino owing to its small proportions
The oval entablature to the dome has a 'crown' of foliage and frames a view of deep set interlocking coffering of octagons, crosses and hexagons which diminish in size the higher they rise. Light floods in from windows in the lower dome that are hidden by the oval opening and from windows in the side of the lantern. In a hierarchical structuring of light, the illuminated lantern with its symbol of the Holy Trinity is the most brightly lit, the coffering of the dome is thrown into sharp and deep relief and light gradually filters downwards to the darker lower body of the church.

Let me down easy
I owe you nothing
I be myself and I ain't fronting, eh, nah, nah, nah
I owe you nothing
I be myself and I ain't fronting, eh, nah, nah, nah
Nah, nah, nah
The charming village of Barbizon nestling on the edge of Fontainebleau forest owes its fame to the 19th-century landscape painters Théodore Rousseau, Jean-Baptiste Corot, Charles-Francois Daubigny and Jean-François Millet who lived there. Their artistic movement, the Barbizon School (1830 to 1875), was considered a precursor of Impressionism. The artists appreciated the tranquillity of this peaceful village and the beauty of the surrounding nature.
Walking along the main street, you'll find a succession of beautiful homes, shops, restaurants and art galleries.
