In a world where overprotective parents call the shots, I have no freaking idea how these things get approved. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind; I just don't see how the construction date made it past all the committees.

"All I know is whatever we do - it must be twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily that’s not difficult."
We find ourselves in Georgian Edinburgh where the elegant New Town is springing up all around, and the newly opened Assembly Rooms are the centre of social life and romantic intrigue. Despite being betrothed to him since birth, Letitia Hardy finds herself out of favour with the charming and arrogant Doricourt upon his return from Europe, as he declares that continental woman are so much more sophisticated than 'dull Scottish lassies'.
Determined not to marry without love, Letitia formulates a hilarious plan to capture his attention: behave so badly that he calls off the wedding, and then seduce him in disguise! Meanwhile, Doricourt’s close friend Sir George, has a beautiful new wife, the country-born Lady Frances. Escaping his overprotective gaze for an afternoon, she draws the attention of the rake, Courtall, who vows to seduce her.
A witty riposte to Farquhar’s The Beaux Stratagem, Hannah Cowley’s rediscovered gem turns the tables on the farcical goings-on and has the women coming out on top.
As well as transposing this restoration comedy from London to Edinburgh, Tony Cownie’s adaptation will have all the wit, mischief and sumptuous design which audiences have come to expect from his ebullient recent productions at The Lyceum, The Venetian Twins and Thon Man Moliere.

3.2008 Bella Magic
Ok, so here's what's been going on with Little Miss Bella for the tow weeks, it's a lots so just bear with me as I type through it. It all started Sunday the 16th, little purple nose gave us quite a scare. She was sleeping all normal while we we just doing stuff around the house when she sat up suddenly with a glazed expression and struggling to get comfortable in her bed. We immediately moved her to the bedroom on her favorite bed for comfort and sat down on the bed to watch her closely. There she struggled to get comfortable and her breathing seemed faint and a little labored. She seemed aware of our presence but very listless and out of it. She wanted her face stroked and seem to be soothed by knowing we were near by. She felt rather warm so we held cool compresses on her head and ears, which seemed to help a little but her demeanor stayed the same. Well, as you can imagne, after about 10 minutes or so with no improvement in her condition, we decided to call Dr. Hyatt (her vet that makes house calls for Bella) who was fortunately very nearby and could be at house in matter of minutes.
As soon as Dr. Hyatt got to the house he examined Bella, listening to her heart and lungs and said it sounded like there was moisture in her lungs. He also said she seemed dehydrated (which really freaked us out to say the least). He took some blood, made some calls to get some more information, pondered over her and examined her again as Scott helped her up to stand (she at this time had little or no balance so Scott was either holding her up completely or carrying her). He then sent us to a nearby emergency veterinary clinic so that they could x-ray her and examine the blood samples he took. When we arrived they weighed her in at 63 lbs, Scott basically carried her from the car to scale then to the table (her man is a little overprotective). She was still listless but more aware than she had been at the house. She was as always the best patient ever and she laid on the stainless table while we waited for the prep of her x-rays and the processing of the blood panels to come back.
The madding thing about anytime you go through something like this is that time always stands still and you feel like you are waiting at the vet office til the cows turn purple. It doesn't really matter which office, how nice it is, or how nice the people are, you are just waiting with every crazy idea going on in your head driving you nuts and still just trying to hold it together. It's enough just to make you want to scream, "Hurry the F--- Up!". Well anyway the wait always seems longer than it really or ever should be and like I said your freaking mind darts from scenario to scenario, hoping that if you prepare yourself for the worst, it really won't be that bad. Silly humans.
Well Dr. Hall, that was the name of the vet at the emergency clinic (and the crazy thing is Bella charmed the hell out of her even though she wasn't feeling well), returned with Bella and her blood panels were normal. Nothing was spiked out of the ordinary and nothing of significance to be noted. We then looked at the x-rays. Bella's chest had not been x-rayed since 2005 when we needed to be sure she did not have osteosarcoma and to make sure her lungs were were not filled with cancer (that's a whole other scarey kind of story). These new x-rays showed all healthy organs with the exception of a mass through her back near the right side of her lungs. Dr. Hall said she was not optimistic but that she could not tell us anymore about the mass, would have to go to a specialist. She did say it was a good sign that there was only one visible mass but without a biopsy there was no way to know what we were dealing with. So completely scared out our wits we took her home, called her specialist Dr. Stubbs (she has a thing for Bella so she gave us her personal number if we ever needed it, never thought we would, who knew) and set up an appointment in two days.
All of her diagnostic information and the x-rays were emailed to Dr. Stubbs, Bella's geriatric vet specialist. She would know better how to handle this growth and could let us know exactly what we have ahead of us. Her appointment was in two days and in the mean time all we could do was watch over Bella and hope that she would gradually come around to herself.
Getting Bella her back home was key no matter what and no matter what we were told anywhere we went. She is such a creature of comfort and love her own surroundings and soft stuff. We got back in the bedroom on her favorite bed and sat around watching her, she seemed to be able to settle in to herself and doze lightly. She took a little water and feeling optimistic, we tried a little chicken broth which she was willing to taste (this was an improvement since she had not wanted to touch anything since this all had started). Sleep was essential and she slept through the evening and in to the next morning (we on the other hand, well you can imagine I'm sure). The next morning she was alert watching us and looking around, she was still pretty weak, but was acting more like herself. She definitely had she a clarity back to her.
In the afternoon she ate some hotdogs (hey, when you don't feel well you get whatever you want). Yeah we know, processed meat but getting her to eat anything in a day and half was our only objective so yeah for hotdogs! Anyway, what do you feed a dog that eats roast chicken, vegetables and home cooked meals? Gwen cooks specifically for her and she has never ate table scraps. It's all part of team Bella. It's funny how we each have our designated roles, Gwen is food maker and comforter (when she doesn't feel well), Scott gets to be her legs and bather and OOna her adversary (we all have our parts, even the evil one). Together I think we make up, Bella's "personal assistant." The people who do all the other things the star (dog) doesn't want to do and it's okay cause you do it for her love and because, well...she's magic.
Bella was ready to go see Dr. Stubbs. She was feeling better and really wanted to go for a ride in the car (a good sign). She seemed to be feeling spunky and enjoying the change in the weather. All I know is the girl was almost back to her usual rare form. She had her balance back and was galloping in the backyard. It's funny to see her use the small hill to gain momentum as charges us (the girl is smart as a whip).
Anyway, Going to the specialist is an excellent example of how medical offices should be run, you meet with tech to describe any changes in diet, behavior, and general health concerns (and the tech always takes great notes). After the general overall the tech then leaves for the work up. The work up consists of an estimate of your bill; high end and low end and should they begin procedures and how if this happens it will go this way or the other way. It very clear and I personally think it prevents heart failure on the part of the owner when you get the bill after everything (you know what to expect) but I also appreciate their consideration that vet bills can be expensive and it's not always easy to know what is absolutely necessary when the patient has no means of telling you.
We knew we were in for an biopsy, and probably ultrasound and any other diagnostic test that ran with this protocol. Bella left with the vet tech and returned to us with a big pink patch of Weimaraner skin showing on her right side (see before photo). She had been shaved but the good news was they were able to get a sample for biopsy and we would know soon what we were dealing with.
Dr. Stubbs then came in and sat down on the floor with us and Bella and said it was good there was only one tumor. She then explained where it was located, which was in the lung, but that it was good that it was one lump mass instead of lots of many little masses which was what usually happens. She also said that it could possible cause her no problems. She did said there was scar tissue in her lungs, and that Bella probably had chronic bronchitis which would account for her coughing. What had happen that Sunday was she probably was having trouble breathing and that's why she seemed so listless and disoriented. The best case scenario is that this tumor is very slow growing. There would be some options to help treat her symptoms but it is hard to tell until we get the biopsy back. She also said that the tumor is small, and that Bella would benefit from an anti-inflammatory drug which would help her lungs and may even slow the growth of the mass.
We will know more when the results come back but until then we will work hard to spoil her but not over exert her. Dr. Stubbs mention that we might make the list of five. The list of five consists of five things that are determinedly your Bella. Five things that make up the core of who she is and sadly this list will help you determine when it is time to let them go.
Five things:
1. Head nuzzles; wanting attention
2. Barks for water, attention, treats
3. Shreds sealed box for treats, sometimes that's the only way to get a treat — for the sport of it
4. Cheese — we are convinced she was cheese monger in a former life
5. Always wants to go for rides.
We struggle with the lists, amending it, rewriting it. Always trying to decide if we have missed some detail.
UPDATE:
The results are in and Bella has primary lung tumor. We don't know the histopathology yet but there does not seem to be any sign of malignacy. These tumors are slow growing and usually detected between 10 -12 years of age with no sex or breed predilection. There is evidence of granuloma on her lungs which indicates scar tissue probably from having chronic bronchitis and probably from living in the city. One of Bella's samples was frozen and will be sent off for more diagnostics to determine if there are any additional infections due to the granuloma. We will also x-ray her again in month to see if there is any change in the tumor. Dr. Stubbs does not expect there to be any significant changes but this will help determine the rate of growth and how aggressive the tumor is in her body.
Sorry this is so long and all three post are pretty much the same with different x-ray angles
Thank you for all you kind words and support.
Love from Bellaland!
An occupational hazard of being a bird photographer, especially during Springtime, is contending with the overprotective nature of parent birds. A case in point is this Australian Magpie that started dive bombing me out of the blue. It did offer me an opportunity to capture some unique images though such as this one where it was coming straight for me, NZ…
A text, in english, from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
Ocellaris clownfish
The Ocellaris Clownfish, Clownfish or False Percula Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) is a popular aquarium fish. It is very closely related to A. percula, the Orange Clownfish or "True Percula Clownfish", and often lives in association with the sea anemone Heteractis magnifica, using them for shelter and protection. Generally, Ocellaris clownfish are hardier, and slightly less aggressive than its Percula counterpart. Both species are found in coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific, particularly in the Fiji and Tonga regions.
This clown anemonefish can be recognised by its orange colour with three white bars and black markings on the fins. It grows to about eight centimeters (three inches) in length. One can differentiate between Percula (true) and Ocellaris (false) by their respective colors and patterns. Ocellaris are usually less vibrantly colored, and have 11 dorsal fin-spines instead of 10, as on the Percula. Also, the species have different eye arrangements: Percula have bright orange irises, making their eyes appear smaller, whereas Ocellaris have grey/orange irises which make the species eyes appear bigger.
There is a rare melanistic variety hailing from the reefs around Darwin, Australia, that is a darker colour with the normal white stripes. Although not common in the wild, they are becoming more and more popular in the aquarium hobby.
Phylogeny:
The species Amphiprion ocellaris are related to the class Osteichthyes which contains bony fish and ray-finned fish. A. ocellaris is the most basal species in the genus Amphiprion which is closely related to the genera Premnas. The species' most closely related ancestor is Amphiprion percula, the Orange Clownfish. It is thought that A. ocellaris specialized after diverging from the Premnas genus, and scientific evidence confirms that all clownfish belonging to the genus Amphiprion could withstand the stings of only one type of anemone, after further diverging the 28 different species of clownfish including A. ocellaris specialized to be able to resist the poisonous stings of many different species.
Analogous structures:
Clownfish have many structures which are analogous with other species, the distinctive stripes found on the clownfish can be seen in few animals. Lampropeltis triangulum elapsoidesor otherwise known as the Scarlet King Snake has a well-defined pattern of red, black and yellow bands. These two structures both have characterises that are similar in use, the bands of each species help warn off predators if the animal is in danger. These bands also help camouflage both organisms in each of their different environments. The bright orange base striped with white found on the clownfish allows it to be undetected in its surroundings of fluorescent corals and anemones.
Homologous structures:
All fish have a mucus membrane surrounding their scales. The mucus usually contains high amounts of lipids and glycoproteins; however, the family Pomacentridae (anemone fish) have a special adaptation where the mucus coating the species is a great deal thicker. Also the protective layer lacks a specific substance that triggers nematocysts (the stings of an anemone); this allows the fish immunity against the toxic stings. Little is known about the mucus except that it is a genetically inherited trait and passed through the generations of each species. In other families of fish, the mucus is used as protection against harmful bacteria, an osmotic regulator and also aids the fish in nest making. The difference in mucuses has led to the divergent path of anemone fish and other species.
Clownfish are initially male; the largest fish in a group becomes female.
Popular culture:
he 2003 Disney/Pixar film, Finding Nemo featured the clown fish duo, Nemo (voiced by Alexander Gould) a juvenile clownfish, the title character/Marlin's son, and Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks) as Nemo's overprotective father.

I've figured out why i don't like her.
because since i have become so protective of those three boys...anyone who doesn't seem right i immediately, don't like them.
this may seem like a terrible thing to do..
but i can't help it...those boys are like my family.
i don't hate her..just a little too overprotective.
no bad comments. =)

While I was watching them, the baby ate the fish his father brought, then he took a nap on Mom's back, got another fish, took a fun ride on Mom's back, got one more fish from his Dad and went for a swim .... Daddy was fishing non-stop far away, and every time he got a fish, he hurried up to the baby, looking very proud and happy. After the fourth fish, the baby just didn't want to eat anymore, but Daddy was so persistent! I hope, this baby will survive his parents' love :)
went to experience the car show for a bit in between jobs. went down to the beach drank a twisted and had to pee lol.. i was a little overprotective
The Wall is a rock opera presented as a double album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released in late 1979.
Following in the footsteps of their previous albums, The Wall is a concept album - specifically, it deals largely with the theme of isolation from one's peers. This is largely inspired by their 1977 tour promoting the album Animals, with regards to an incident where Roger Waters' frustration with someone climbing the netting that separated the band from the audience reached a point where Waters spat in the fan's face. This led him to lament that such a wall exists, which in turn inspired him to base their next album on the theme of isolation from others. With this significantly darker theme, The Wall featured a notably harsher and more theatrical sound than their previous releases.
The Wall is a rock opera that centers on the character "Pink". Largely based on Waters' personal life, Pink struggles in life from an early age, having lost his father in war ("Another Brick in the Wall (Part 1)"), abused by teachers ("The Happiest Days of Our Lives"), nurtured by an overprotective mother ("Mother"), and deserted by his wife later on ("Don't Leave Me Now") - all of which factored into Pink's mental isolation from society, figuratively referred to as "The Wall".
In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine listed The Wall as #87 in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Iruka Umino (うみのイルカ, Umino Iruka?) is an instructor at the Ninja Academy, characterized by the distinctive scar across his face that he has had since childhood. The name "Umino Iruka" can be taken as "umi no iruka" ("sea dolphin"). His parents were killed by the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox when he was younger, though he holds no hostility towards its container, Naruto Uzumaki. In fact, Iruka is one of the few people at the start of the series who values Naruto as a person, being able to relate with Naruto's methods of trying to gain attention. Because he, like Naruto, was forced to grow up without parents, and was socially isolated as a result, he can relate to Naruto in this regard as well and has assumed the role as Naruto's father-figure. Once Naruto becomes a ninja Iruka starts to underestimate Naruto, and as such become overprotective of him, though he in time discovers that Naruto has all the makings to become a great ninja.
Little is known about Iruka's abilities, but he is clearly proficient in the basic ninjutsu and genjutsu, seen when he disguises himself as an enemy ninja and menaces Team 7 as a pretest for the Chunin Exam. The anime filler episodes show Iruka using Sealed Bombs Square Release (方爆法陣, Fŭbaku Hojin?), which consists of setting an array of exploding tags and, once the target has entered, setting the tags to detonate if the target moves. Because this only applies to the target, meaning others can freely enter the array without harm, it is possible that Iruka is skilled in this area.

In making this portrait I wanted to included the things that Sharif loved and enjoyed and try to make it fun and colorful, as it seems that is how he lived his short life. There are names of those left behind. As Joanne pointed out to me, killing one person wounds many others. The little boy in the piece is also Sharif, a sweetie with the same smile he took to adulthood. It was a challenge to pull this all together but I felt privileged to get to know, as best I could, this man in the photos. His name in the heart at the top is the tattoo his mother Joanne got after he was gone.
From Sharif's daughter Laniyah:

Losing you had to be the worst thing that ever happened to me. Seven years definitely was not enough time with you and it left me mentally unstable. I remember getting the news. . . worst day of my life. I was just wishing it was a all a dream. Even until this day, I wish I could've just told him that I love him one last time. My last birthday spent with [him] was Dorney Park, I think. He got mad and we left early because nobody was listening. My dad treated me like the princess I am and you will forever be in my heart. I love you and I can't wait to see you again.
My father was a man who had smiles to brighten your days. He was patient and kind and the very best friend you could ever hope for. I can't tell you daddy, how many tears I've cried since the day I was told my dad had died. It seems so impossivle even though I know it's true, everything I see around me reminds me of you. I think of you most on your birthday, father's day, and my birthday. Happy some days, sad the other, but right now I can feel you in my heart and you are always on my mind. I just wish I could have said one last goodbye.

The Tibetan Mastiff is courageous, fearless, even-tempered, calm and thoughtful. Very loyal to its own family. Tends to bark at night if left outside, but will be quiet indoors. It is an outstanding flock guardian and is ferocious against wolves, leopards or any prey that try to approach its flock. It is easy to housebreak, but matures later in life than the average breed. The Tibetan Mastiff needs a firm, confident, consistent pack leader to prevent it from becoming willful and stubborn, overprotective and territorial. These dogs have a strong desire to please their owners. They are loving with children, but can distrust and be reserved with strangers if not properly socialized. It comes naturally to this Mastiff to guard its family and their property. It has to be raised to adulthood in a careful, well-balanced manner. A stable, well-adjusted and trained dog is for the most part generally good with non-canine pets. It is possible for them to get along with other dogs if the owners are able to communicate with them that fighting is an unwanted behavior. Tibetan Mastiffs will not listen if they sense that they are stronger minded than their owners. Owners need to possess a natural air of authority to their demeanor. The objective in training this dog is to achieve pack leader status. It is a natural instinct for a dog to have an order in its pack. When we humans live with dogs, we become their pack. The entire pack cooperates under a single leader. Lines are clearly defined and rules are set. Because a dog communicates his displeasure with growling and eventually biting, all other humans MUST be higher up in the order than the dog. The humans must be the ones making the decisions, not the dogs. That is the only way your relationship with your dog can be a complete success. When owners make it absolutely clear they are alpha over the dog in a calm, but very firm manner, and the dog is well exercised, trained and socialized, it can be a very good family companion. This breed requires an experienced owner.

Sanji is like the overprotective brother! XD Love how his eyes, clothes and hair matches Hayle's perfectly :x
Madren (Cristal Boy) belongs to Akihoshi
Hayle (SD10 Kun) belongs to Ry/Lavena
which finally brings me to my "real" point. while we're sure that odin has a grand time playing with one or the both of us each day, we'd both like to see him have more opportunities to engage in semi-structured playtime with kids his own age and we'd rather not wait a full 6 months until the end of cold and flu season to start. so we're contemplating enrolling him in an age-appropriate gymboree learning program ( or perhaps other similar programs in our area ), but can't quite figure out how to rationally weigh the risk that daycare & preschools are epicenters of [viral] flu epidemics.
are we being overbearing and overprotective parents if we decide to keep him secluded and sequestered for another winter season, knowing that at the very least we would have the peace of mind that we did all that we could to help prevent the risks associated with developing a lower respiratory infection? or are we being cavalier and irresponsible by deciding that the potential benefits of "social play" outweigh the risk of developing a condition that could lead to further damage to his already handicapped lower respiratory capacity?
Where to even start.
start: 'hey babe, let's go camping. somewhere. not on a campground. in Oregon.'
And so we did. After asking several people on flickr, and several real people [it's well known flickr people are automated fabrications of your imagination], we still had no clue where to head. So I did the obvious. I opened Google maps, selected terrain, blindfolded myself, spun my chair 10 times and pointed. What I ended up with was the Oregon coast. Perfect. In Oregon, much like a mustache to an upper lip, lush forests grow right down to beaches. Amazing beaches. So, we hit Freddy Meyers, corralled the dogs and packed up the car. Way too much. Neither of us had been back country camping before, and our overabundance of gear, beer and food was testament to this. We had less stuff driving cross country. We hit the sunset highway and headed West through some gorgeous wilderness towards our final destination, Cape Meares. Mind you, this was at 9pm. Luckily, the Oregon summer holds the sun high till 10 and twilight seems to linger some time after. So, we had at least 1hr to find a trail, unpack the car, scamp through woods, haul our gear, get the pups, and setup shop that would lay claim to the next 3 nights. After a manic'd panic'd dimly lit search we decided upon a trail through a wildlife refuge. Why a wildlife refuge? It was dark, and time to do this. Tonto.
Besides, what wildlife with human predation lives on a beach?
Black bears. 2 bear cubs to be exact. That's who. And their mom. Their angry, overprotective, I'll maim you just for being within one mile of my cubs mother, whom we met at 9am the next morning. Thankfully we had already had our morning coffee, steeped to perfection over flame. So yea, the dogs charged the two bear cubs who shimmed up a 70 ft tree with all the grace of a black bear cub scaling a giant tree. It was impressive to say the least. I had my camera with me, and even pointed it to my eye. However, I couldn't push the shutter. Unlike my Yosemite bear cub experience, where there were many people around, I didn't take a photo. Instead, instinct kicked in and I knew we were in trouble. The dogs charging the cubs, and the fact the we couldn't see the mother, but knew she was close told us we should turn around, and jet. And so we did. The dogs thankfully heeded my calls and followed us as we ran back up the trail. manic'd panic'd I handed Lis my camera and wielded my Nepalese knife, ready to do battle. This was 100 yards from our chosen site. Needless to say, it was time to pack up our stuff and find another home, away from the bear family. And so we did. With a quickness. This would be the 4th trip up/down the quarter mile trail with our gear, as it took two trips each way to gather it all. Our cooler was heavy. Swollen with ice.
This story is in no way meant to take away from the the night spent in a sweet location, enjoying a nice campfire in a woods overlooking the ocean. The dogs running round the site. It sprinkled but the awe inspiring tree canopy kept us dry. We could even hear the waves from our tent.
Which led us to our next destination. We thought we'd up the wave anti by camping right on the beach. And so we did.
We setup shop on Netarts Beach, on a tip we got from a waitress in a coffee shop in a tiny coastal town. The beach was at the end of a dead end road called Happy Camp. This would surely bode well for us, no?
No. It actually didn't... Bode well... At all. What the waitress neglected to tell us was that the beach assumed the role of the ocean bottom during high tide. As in, when high tide comes, you should be off this beach. So, after an amazing day, a giant campfire, scenery to die for [punny] we settled into our tent. The waves were roaring. Seriously loud. Their gusto to be overtaken only by the constant barrage of fireworks being shot off the dune cliffs above us. This was all well and good for the first half hour, but 4 hours of firebombs bursting 10 feet over your tent tends to make one feel as though they are in The Ardennes circa 1945. The dogs were scared. Understatement. They were pissing their pants. I mean our tent. We don't make them wear pants. Lis would though, if she could. Thankfully the shelling was a blessing in disguise as it kept us awake. Until 2am. Which came in handy when I looked out the tent door and shined my mag light. The water was near. Near like 4 feet. Correction, the Singularity is near, the icy cold ocean was on us. It was time to go. Again. This time with a severe quickness. Our tent was as far back as a tent can go. We were up against a cliff face. The only way out was left. So, at 2am in the pitch dark we packed. We packed like rats. Did I mention it was raining out? We packed as much as we could for one trip off the beach. We sadly had to leave some stuff behind, like the 200lb cooler full of melted ice. And my mini grill. Our apologies to environmentalites. We had to go. Fast. The walk back down the beach was no walk on the beach. The sand was gone. Underwater. We had to skirt the cliff face on rocks. With gear hanging off of us like rented mules. Raining. 2 dogs with the look of fear in their eyes. Sidenote: I always though that if stranded somewhere, desperate, I'd want one thing with me. My dog. I change my mind. They're like kids in this situation. Baggage. At this point its time to interject with a word about my wife. She's strong. Stronger than I've thought. She did this. Without bitching once. Without crying. Without concern for herself. She carried at least 60lbs of gear on her back across a quarter mile stretch of soaking wet beach rocks with the ocean surf taunting 4 feet from her feet. Pinned against a cliff face! Now thats a wife. It's who I want with me.
We made it. Obviously. The two hour ride back to Portland at 3am was sublimely painful.
From my pics you can see the beauty we saw. It was an amazing 4th. A lot happened in 24 hours. It's good to get this down on 'paper'. It was breathtaking. Ridiculous. Gorgeous. Dangerous.
It was living Life. Full.

Few legends told on Okoto have prompted as many young and brash adventurers into scouring the island in the face of danger as the Legend of Eora. Generations before the time of Ekimu, another Mask Maker worked the great forge, whose daughter was known across the island for her beauty. The already overprotective father was driven to madness by the never-ending flow of suitors, leading him to forge a mask for Eora which would send her into a deep sleep while preserving her life and youth. He hid her away and a secret cavern, and decreed that any suitor can prove their worth by finding her and waking her up.
Unfortunately, the father was too cautious, and Eora wasn't found within his lifetime, or even since. Legend has it she's still sleeping somewhere on Okoto, waiting for an adventurer to awaken her...

This MOC is less about the build, which is your standard Protector, and more about colors and posing. I also toyed around a tad with editing to get some decent effects.
....and splaaaaashing in the rain!
It absolutely bucketed it down this afternoon (After a rather warm and glorious morning too!).
Well, as soon as the thunder started, I unplugged my PC and other electricals and went and stood by the front door to watch the storm. I took my camera with the thought of *maybe* capturing some lightning.
Then the children stood with me, and I said "Come on, lets go play in the rain!" they grabbed shoes, wellies and macs, and we went outside for a good run around and some splashes in the puddles. They loved it, and we got absolutely soaked right through.
I think we as parents these days are too quick to worry about illnesses and as a result are overprotective of our children. I try and let mine get muddy, mucky (outside the house of course!), and getting wet for a bit isn't going to harm them :)

Changed.
This photo is a lot darker and depressing than I'm actually feeling, but that's just how I portrayed the concept I guess.
I began this year a new person. I'm sick of being known as the drama girl. I never intend to start anything. My overprotective and sensitive self gets thrown in the middle of stuff I don't know how to handle. However, I feel myself changing already. I'm doing my best to fix things I have broken and to prevent further damage. I have a whole new mindset, and I'm trying not to let many things wipe the smile off my face. The little things are no longer bothering me, and I'm beginning to blog again (privately!) so I can let out my feelings somewhere safe.
But my biggest problem is that no one will recognize my change if I'm not given a chance.

My boy is on a campout with Boy Scouts tonight. I was very worried because it snowed all day and I was afraid he would freeze. I try not to be overprotective and super anxious and whatnot, but today I just couldn't help it. My stomach was in knots, my hands were sweaty, I was freaking out without completely freaking out.
This picture was when we dropped him off. I took some pictures of the boys, set the camera in the back of the truck (ok, so it's actually an SUV but I call it a truck) while he was getting his stuff out, I turned on the timer, casually stepped back and when I knew it was about to click I lifted my leg. LMAO I think one of the other fathers saw me, he made a funny look, but I picked up the camera and took some pictures of the boys. :)
It's not snowing anymore, and I have calmed down and am not so stressed anymore. But I feel bad for him because once we got home we realized he had forgotten his snow gloves in the truck, so he only has his little fleece ones...
I got home from work at around 6 and Just the tip I promise shirt. I went in and greeted, some of them where my father’s family. We talked and laughed. I excused myself to go freshen up, but my granny followed me to my room. Haha this woman neh but I love her, am where I am today because of her overprotective manner. She got in and close the door. I showed my Mother and sister there rooms and am glad they liked them. It was already late and I was in my room taking a shower well they also do the same so that we will go for dinner.

This is a long time friend of mine, Teresa. She is reminding me that Miss Sarie is an old gal and that I should remember that when I go on my outings with her...
My response is that we live each day because it may be the last one I have with my sweet little old lady!
Her response... Well remember not to live in the past when she is gone!
LOL... Teresa... We love ya!
And for the record, Miss Sarie loves her outings! I pay attention to the situation and don't overstress her...
Disclaimer: I am sure Teresa would appreciate it if I told you that she had been working on her kitchen all day and did not have any makeup on when I took this photo!
~Jewish mother stereotype~
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Jewish mother stereotype is a common stereotype used by Jewish comedians, usually when discussing (fictionally or not) their mothers. The stereotype generally involves a nagging, overprotective, and overbearing mother, one who is often getting involved in her children's lives long after they have grown up.

I like the new feature in Safari 3 that’ll warn you before leaving the page if you entered anything in forms... but it seems it’s trying too hard. Not only will it raise an alert if I try to close a Google page with just a query entered, but it will even do so if what I put in is just a single space.
Another Pink Floyd reference, but one relevant today. Simon loved Pink Floyd and always wanted me to watch the film.
Here is the meaning...
From the outset, Pink's life revolves around an abyss of loss and isolation. Born to a war-ravaged nation that takes his father's life in the name of "duty," and an overprotective mother who lavishes equal measures of her love and phobias onto her son, Pink chooses to build a mental wall between himself and the rest of the world so that he can live in a constant, alienated equilibrium free from life's physical and emotional troubles. Every incident that causes Pink pain is yet another brick in his ever-growing wall: a fatherless childhood, a domineering mother, a country whose king signs his father's death certificate with a rubber stamp, the superficiality of stardom, an estranged marriage, even the very drugs he turns to in order to find release. As his wall nears completion, each brick further closing him off from the rest of the world, Pink spirals into a void of insanity, cementing in place the final brick in the wall. Yet the minute it is complete, Pink begins to realize the adverse effects of total mental isolation, helplessly watching as his fragmented psyche coalesces into the very dictatorial persona that antagonized the world during World War II, scarred his nation, killed his father, and thereby defiled his own life from birth. Culminating in a mental trial as theatrically rich as the greatest stage shows, the story ends with a message that is as enigmatic and circular as the rest of Pink's life. Whether it is ultimately viewed as a cynical story about the futility of life, or a hopeful journey of metaphorical death and rebirth, the Wall is certainly a musical milestone worthy of the title "art."
I'm hurting today and want to build my own wall from the world, but unlike Pink can see why I shouldn't before it's too late. I have painted Simons walls, but asked for help from my friends Gwendy and Rowena before I bricked myself in!
As my 365 progresses, I feel more and more like I'm taking because I have to, not because I want to. And as this happens, my photography gets less and less creative and I blend more and more into the mass of anonymous Flickr accounts.
All I can do is sit around and daydream for inspiration that rarely comes...
I wrote a huge rant, but I decided that none of you wanted to hear it, so I deleted the whole thing.
I hate this picture, anyway. This spot is a really good picture-taking location in my neighborhood, but my mom walked me there and wouldn't leave me alone because she thought I would be raped or something. What the hell, Mom. I've been there plenty of times alone before. You're a bit overprotective. I had my cell phone... So I got five pictures, and they all suck. She was like, "Have you gotten it yet? How about now? Can we go home now?"
That definitely doesn't help anyone come out of a [probably permanent] creativity stump.

Dana Hart Lubeck takes a moment before playing one of the roles that made Betty Buckley famous: Miss Gardner. This musical takes a legit stab at adapting Stephen King’s novel for the musical stage. Carrie White is a misfit. At school, she’s an outcast who’s bullied by the popular crowd, and virtually invisible to everyone else. At home, she’s at the mercy of her wacko, overprotective mother. But Carrie has just discovered she’s got a special power, and if pushed too far, she’s not afraid to use it… And you already know she does. Audiences should know that unlike recent stagings of "Night of the Living Dead" and "Evil Dead" at the Bug Theatre, "Carrie" is not a campy satire. It is written very much in the vein of traditional Broadway fare. "Carrie" stars Haley DiVirgilio, Terra Salazar, Shahara Ray, Dana Hart Lubeck, Devin Bustamante and Ember Everett; and features Chris Arneson, Joseph Graves, Savannah Lake, Chelsea Winslow, Ashley Brown, Taylor Sommer, Chris Riney, James L. Crapes and Zach Nick. Directed by Colin Roybal and Hunter Hall. Final performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday (Nov. 29-30) at the Bug Theatre, 3654 Navajo St., 720-984-0781 or www.equinoxtheatredenver.dreamhosters.com. I decided I should get a DS before going to Spain. I thought it might be fun and handy. EVERYWHERE is sold out of them, even most online places. I managed to get this one online and it arrived today :) PS: when i took it out of the package, it already had a tiny scratch/ mark thing in it (it looked like a grain of sand got mashed into the screen.) Is that normal? Am i being overprotective or is that total Nintendo BS? (haha, get it, BS / DS?)
I ALSO GOT MY VISA TODAY!!!! YESSSSSSSS
I got fitted for new contacts. I got dailies (disposable ones) this time. Everything hurts my eyes but I hate wearing glasses. I'm wearing the new contacts right now and they don't seem so great. I can't blame my headache on them because it's residual from my old contacts that I wore earlier today. I just can't quite tell yet if they're gonna be very comfortable. I guess I'll wait and see :)
