Leilou as Yandere

A term for a person who is initially loving and caring to someone they like a lot until their romantic love, admiration and devotion becomes feisty and mentally destructive in nature through either overprotectiveness, violence, brutality or all three. The term is a portmanteau of the words yanderu (病んでる), meaning (mentally or emotionally) ill, and deredere (でれでれ), meaning to show genuinely strong romantic affection. Yandere characters are mentally unstable, incredibly deranged and use extreme violence or brutality as an outlet for their emotions. Yandere are usually, but not always, female characters.

Gi as Tsundere

Tsundere (ツンデレ, pronounced [tsɯndeɾe]) is a Japanese term for a character development process that describes a person who is initially cold and even hostile towards another person before gradually showing a warmer side over time. The word is derived from the terms tsun tsun (ツンツン), meaning to turn away in disgust, and dere dere (デレデレ) meaning to become 'lovey dovey'.

Thanks for the awesome collab Leilou

The female American Oystercatcher is in hot pursuit of the much smaller Black-bellied Plover. (I can tell it’s the female by the tags on her legs. The male was not tagged.) She’s just clearing any bird considered too close to her darling chicks for her comfort. A bit overprotective if you ask me in this case. ....Overprotective and frightening at the same time....

Samac, Bosnia

I asked Haley to keep any shady characters away. It's good to know he's got my back.

I've just read an article 'New Syndrome Defined: Grown-up Kids Who Won't Leave Home'. The psychologists formulated the term 'entitled dependence'. In Australia these young people are called 'boomerang children'. I also like the Italian 'bamboccioni'. In the photo above the young kangaroo was in fact warned and invited by Mum's open pouch to hide when she spotted a man with his big dog (fortunately on leash) and reacted as every overprotective mother would.

ACT THREE -- Final Scene

Luke:

Betty! Betty! (the flashlight is retrieved, picked up, shone on the speaker, which is a bloodied, disheveled Luke) Betty, it's me, Luke!

Betty:

Luke? (she looks around) Where is he? The killer! Ryan's the killer!

Luke:

I figured that out when he hit me over the head. (goes to her, helping her to the bed) He's over there, on the floor. Don't look at him. He's dead.

Betty:

(looks up at Luke with teary eyes) He said you were dead.

Luke:

Pretty sure I have a concussion. You'll have to drive me to a hospital, if you think you can?

Betty:

We'll help each other. (nods)

DAY-INT-OFFICE

(Betty sits in a comfortable armchair across from an older woman, also seated in an armchair, holding an open notepad.)

Betty:

It's nearly a year, Doctor. Things seem to be finally settling down, but sometimes .. I still have the dreams. And when I do, it's not Luke who wins the fight, it's Ryan Davis. And I wake up, screaming.

PSYCHIATRIST:

You've come a long way, Betty. Don't think of the nightmares as a failure to heal, it's just your fears working their way through the experience, battling to come out on top, to show you that you were smart enough to see through the deception. (smiles) You're a brave, intelligent woman. You won.

Betty:

(smiles) That's what Luke tells me. (glances at the wristwatch on her left wrist, the wedding ring on her left finger catching afternoon sunlight peeking through the sheer drapes of the doctor's cozy office) Oh, gosh! Luke's probably waiting, outside!

Psychiatrist:

(rises from her chair as Betty gets up and collects her things) Do you think he's a little overprotective, Betty? I could always schedule a session for both of you?

Betty:

(pauses in the open doorway, smiling back at her psychiatrist) Actually, he's just the right amount of protective for a newlywed, Doctor. See you next month! (she hurries through the outer office)

(The psychiatrist goes to her window, parting the thin drapes and looking down at the tree-lined street where a handsome man leans against a red truck. He brightens and Betty runs into his arms. They kiss, he opens the passenger door for her, presenting her with a small bouquet of bright flowers. She accepts them, laughing, briefly kissing him again, and he helps her into the truck before going around to the driver's side.)

Psychiatrist:

Just the right amount. (agrees with Betty, smiling and allowing the drape to close as the truck pulls away)

Thje oither female was probably just wanting to get past, but it pays to be overprotective in the crowded colony.

They look cute and cudly - until they aren't. :-)

Taken in Norfolk.

Conor shrugged again, hurt and confusion both etched in his face. Despite the fact he'd been the one to cause most of the problem. "She's mad 'cause I typed in capitals." As if that explained everything. "But Alex types in capitals to me all the time. Prolly to her too. And she ain't mad at him." At least not that he knew of." He was filthy tonight. Mud, gum and soot covering most of his face. It was a wonder anyone would even want to hug him. Those green eyes that looked up at Guin were just pitiful though. "I can say sorry and she won't be mad, maybe?"

"Sometimes a sorry is all the magic word you need," she says quietly, and would compromise by tugging, once, on the hood of his jacket. "Why don't we give it a whirl, hmm? Maybe we can fix a few things."

Phoebe clutched her phone to her chest and closed her eyes for a few minutes. When did life get so complicated? She thought that tromping through the swamps and riding scooters around town were what life was comprised of not very long ago, but now... it was full of nuance and complexity she just didn't want, nor was she ready to cope with it all. Boys with and without flowers, politics between warring factions, an overprotective father, hangovers, explosions, and now PMS. She laid there quietly.

Conor studied Guin for a long while before nodded firmly, a couple of errant leaves falling from his hood as she tugged on it. A dirty chin tipped back, chest sucking in a deep breath of air as he turned towards the wall. He couldn't see her from here...but he'd be damn sure she could hear him at least. "PHOEBE SORRY I WROTE IN CAPITAL LETTERS AT YOU. DIDN'T MEAN IT. AND...SORRY FOR THE OTHER STUFF TOO. DIDN'T MEAN THAT EITHER...AND STUFF."

Her brow arches as he sucks in breath, only realizing what he intends as he suddenly starts to yell. She winces, bringing one hand up to cover her ear. "I kinda meant... go back there and -say- it to her... " But it's a start, at least...

Phoebe blinked when she heard Conor's yell. Her phone buzzes, she looks at the screen, and shouts back. "YOU'RE YELLIN AGAIN!" Sure, she was too. It was the point of the matter. "I ain't friends with a store, neither!" She punches keys while she mutters. "I didn't mean it bout the TZ either. I-- I hate this. I HATE war. Everyone who's fightin' a war jus' can't tell me 'bout it NO MORE. NEW RULE. OKAY? No flowers either. No war, no flowers."

Conor had actually made someone's ears bleed earlier today with his shouting. Literally, bleed. He should have known better at this point...but a nine year old's memory could be selective at times. A hand reached out, palm pressed flat against Guin's leg unless she moved. Not so much a gesture of affection...as a hand to steady himself. All this shouting was making him a little lightheaded. "I'M SORRY I'M SHOUTING BUT THERE'S A WALL. AND LIKE...I HATE WAR TOO. AND MISS WINNY DOESN'T REALLY LIKE SHOUTING SO MAYBE YOU SHOULD COME OUT AND STUFF. SHE WANTS A WATERSHAKE AND IT AIN'T RIGHT UNLESS YOU MAKE IT. AND LIKE...FLOWERS ARE FOR DOUCHES. EXCEPT SATO. HE'S ALRIGHT. I DON'T MEAN IMMA GIVE HIM FLOWERS OR NOTHING. JUST SAYIN' HE'S ALRIGHT. AND LIKE...I FORGOT WHAT ELSE. JUST COME OUT...OKAY?"

I would love to put a little book together of dog related observations.

today marissa (pictured here!) came over for some photos, and she brought along with her this cool birdcage! im currently all out of props i havent used before, so i was definitely interested in trying to find some way to utilize hers today. i was a bit worried, since bird cages, and birds in general, tend to be a bit cliche, but when this image popped into my head i thought i had a chance to bring at least a little glimmer of new light to an old idea - so we went for it!

i was thinking about how sometimes you can do more harm to someone you love by pressuring them to stay with you, rather than just letting that person go - or at least, not being so overprotective. the title is inspired from a line by gregory + the hawk, when she says "just leave me your stardust to remember you by." beautiful song.

feeling really good after shooting this, since yesterday i had something really cool planned but i ended up not even getting a chance to try shooting! always sad when that happens, and the only thing that can really truly make me feel whole again, is taking another photo. though mucho thanks to my bffs for dancing with me all last night. :)

Are the headlight eyes in the window a stalker or over protective automobile of Miller's?

"Another Brick in the Wall" is a three-part composition on Pink Floyd's 1979 rock opera The Wall, written by bassist Roger Waters.

The three parts of "Another Brick in the Wall" appear on Pink Floyd's 1979 rock opera album The Wall. During "Part 1", the protagonist, Pink, begins building a metaphorical wall around himself following the death of his father. In "Part 2", traumas including his overprotective mother and abusive schoolteachers become metaphorical bricks in the wall. Following a violent breakdown in "Part 3", Pink dismisses everyone he knows as "just bricks in the wall".

****UPDATE 26th November 2010 - this photograph has just been voted first place in the recent "Totally Thailand" Flickr competition. Thank you to everyone that voted, I am very honoured.

Ho Nang Usa (Thai: หอนางอุสา) is the most impressive rock formation at Phu Phrabat Historical Park (Thai: อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์ภูพระบาท) Udon Thani, Thailand.

Most of the bizarre rock formations in the park are featured in a legend about a king (Phaya Kong Phan), his stunningly beautiful daughter (Nang Usa), a hermit (Rishi Chantra) and a love-struck prince from another kingdom (Tao Baros). Hoh Nang-Usa is said to be the tower where the beautiful princess was forced to live by her overprotective father.

Legend has it that a knight (during the middle-ages) ended his life falling down this waterfall - the name (S)kydalsfossen has derived from the knights surname Skydal. The fall is located in the forests of Oppland - Gjøvik (Bybrua).

The story states that the knight (one of many of course) fell in love with a beautiful girl - Josefine Grande, who's father was (for the lack of a better word) somewhat overprotective - to the edge of insanity. He used to lock his daughter away in a shed - just to keep her "safe" from eager suiters.

One night Skydal decided to "free" Josefine from her fathers claws. During his attempt the would be lovers were caught by the father, but still managed to get away.

During their escape - they had to cross the depicted waterfall. Skydal managed to help Josefine to the other side of the fall, but in his own attempt - lost his footing and plummeted down the waterfall - tragically losing his life. Josefine, now free from her fathers prison - left the waterfall in tears. Never to return home again.

Aiden bit his lip while staring anxiously at the distant clocktower from his perch upon Leon's Claw's deck. The clock determined that he still had about fifteen minutes before he should leave. He was to meet Vincent at three o'clock, but he'd found himself ready quickly and with extra time to kill. His mind was on Vincent, eager to see him again.

It had been a few days since he'd received a short letter from Vincent. In the letter, Vincent had explained that he was doing quite well and was feeling ready to have visitors again. He had invited Aiden over, today in fact, which was why Aiden was staring at the clock. He'd sent a note back to him agreeing to the time and date and now here he was. After five days of not seeing Vincent with his own eyes, it was like he was unable to fully relax anymore, as if a touch more on edge. He couldn't really explain the feeling other than needing to be near him, to know he was safe and well with his own eyes.

Aiden licked his lips and shifted slightly as he reached into his pocket for the letter Vincent had sent him. He opened and smoothed it out, the paper showing evidence of having been handled a lot over the past few days. He looked at the familiar writing of Vincent's invitation and wished time would get here faster! Feeling silly, Aiden tucked the paper back into his pocket and looked back at the clock. He might as well just go now and just walk along at a slower pace than usual. At least he wouldn't be sitting here staring at the clock! And so as soon as he made sure once again that he had everything he needed, he did just that!

Try as he may, Aiden ended up making it to Vincent's much earlier than anticipated even though he thought he was taking his time. When he passed by a clock-maker a few minutes earlier he’d seen that he was nearly twenty minutes early. He didn't want to be rude and knock too soon! So he stared up at the building and sighed, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Aiden! You're early!"

Vincent's mildly surprised voice called out to him from behind not even a half minute later! Aiden turned to see Vincent and (unsurprisingly, he thought) Damien approaching from the opposite direction he'd come. His stomach fluttered to life with butterflies as he saw Vincent's eyes light up! He even had a small smile on his lips! So he was happy to see him too! Beside Vincent, Damien nodded amiably, hoisting up the two boxes in his arms better. Vincent had a small, light bag of fresh bread and a few other groceries in his hand. Aiden grinned at his crewmates and waved as the duo approached.

"I know. Sorry. I can wait out here a bit longer if you need more time."

"No, no! Come on up! I have something I wanted to show you! Damien, come on!"

"I'm coming, I'm coming. How are you, Aiden?"

"Fine, thanks. Yourself?"

"I've got nothing to complain about. After you."

"Thank you."

Vincent had already pushed the door open as the other two greeted each other and began his trek up the three flights of stairs to his flat. He could hear Aiden and Damien making small talk behind him; something about the weather so he tuned them out. Instead, he focused on pushing himself up the stairs. Thankfully, the pain wasn't so bad today.

Once at the top, Vincent withdrew his key and let them all into his flat. He held the door open for the two, nodding at their echoed "Thanks!" before closing the door behind them.

"Would you put those on the desk, Damien, please? Thank you. Aiden, make yourself comfortable. Would you like some tea or fresh water? I have mead if you'd prefer. Damien? Want anything?"

"I'll take some water, thank you," Aiden replied to which Damien added, "Same. Thanks!"

While Vincent got busy setting his groceries down and getting his friends some water, Aiden turned to glance around the small flat. His gaze met Damien's who smiled slightly at him as he set down the boxes. Aiden smiled back then slid his hands into his pockets.

"Did you guys go to the market?" Aiden asked after a moment longer of silence. Damien nodded and replied, "Yes. And we had several errands to run together this morning after our breakfast." Damien made his way across the room to join Vincent in the kitchen and added, "We got a lot accomplished."

"That's good," Aiden replied. He felt unsure what else to say and it seemed Damien decided their conversation was ending anyway. He'd noticed lately that Damien's interactions with him had changed. But at the same time, maybe it was all in his head.

Up until a few weeks ago, Damien had been one to sometimes make him feel coddled; even a touch belittled. However, he'd always seemed to genuinely want to help and Aiden didn't really think he meant to irritate him. Damien was a more worldly man and experienced crewmate so Aiden had always taken into consideration what he had to say. While Damien still did those things that make him feel that way, something had shifted and Aiden couldn't quite put his finger on it. It didn't seem like it was THAT that was getting to him.

But as he watched Damien stride up alongside Vincent and begin helping him with the groceries, Aiden felt a spike of irritation. Of course, Vincent was capable of putting away his own groceries, but if he had offered his own assistance it would have been him, not Damien, spending the extra minute with Vincent, smiling and standing close together.

Now that he was thinking about it, during Vincent's recovery the last few weeks, it seemed every time Aiden had the chance to spend time with him, Damien was somehow a part of it, even if for a short time. And he certainly hadn't forgotten the few times Damien had made tactless comments in Aiden's presence. It never failed to make Aiden feel a little unwanted.

Aiden had to mentally slap himself. Physically, he ran his hands over his face as he quickly tried to reason this out with himself. Why WAS Damien working him up so much?! He lowered his hands and gazed over at the pair and reminded himself that Damien and Vincent were close friends and had been for years. Aiden had only known Vincent a few short months. Damien was the overprotective sort; especially when it came to Vincent. And Vincent did want Damien around after all. He'd never shown any indication that Damien's presence was unwelcome. He would have said so if he felt otherwise. That was just the kind of man Vincent was.

But as much as Aiden tried to reason it out, he still felt that brush of jealousy that he couldn't shake. He didn't want to feel this way but he couldn't help it! In light of Aiden's romantic inclination towards Vincent, he figured that these feelings towards Damien were a part of it. Maybe he was just overreacting and looking more into it because of that...

"Hey, are you okay?"

Aiden blinked and looked down at Vincent who was standing there with a cup of water offered out to him. Vincent was looking a little concerned as he gazed up at him with that furrowed brow. Aiden felt himself smile softly. He brushed his fingers against Vincent's as he reached for the cup; this time intentionally. That familiar warmth moving through his fingers at their touch felt really nice. It was almost electric! He found he really liked that feeling. His heart thumped harder in his chest and butterflies filled his stomach again.

"Yeah."

"Are you sure?"

Vincent didn't look quite convinced, worry written in his features. Still their fingers touched, both holding the cup. Aiden smiled a little more genuinely before assuring him, "Mhm. I was just thinking about something I need to sort out later. Thanks for the water."

Vincent gazed at him a moment longer before he released the cup to Aiden and lowered his hand with a quiet, "You're welcome." He wet his lips and continued to gaze up at him as Aiden held the cup in his hands though he didn't drink. No, Aiden was still gazing into his eyes and time seemed to stand still.

Vincent, too, had felt a warmth spreading through his fingers at their touch. For an insane, fleeting moment he had wanted to keep his hand there to keep feeling it, and he wasn't sure how he felt about that. Yet he felt himself transfixed on Aiden's gorgeous eyes and time seemed to stand still.

"Vincent, didn't you want to show Aiden something?"

Damien's voice interrupted their moment and Vincent found himself blinking. Then he suddenly remembered that he was right! He waved his hand for Aiden to follow him and exclaimed, "Yes! Aiden, come here!"

Aiden fought back a sigh and instead smiled for his friend and began to follow him towards his bedroom without even a glance towards Damien. Damien waited a moment before following behind the two of them to come see what was going on.

Vincent led the way and went left towards his wardrobe where there were a few boxes and crates which Aiden didn't recognize. They weren't there a few days ago. What were they? It seemed he was about to find out! Was it him or was he hearing a faint, muffled buzzing sound coming from the boxes? Though, as he glanced over everything he couldn't see anything that might have been giving off the sound. But something familiar caught his eye!

"Is that my wrench?!"

Aiden looked genuinely surprised as he stared at the red, rusted large wrench sitting there right on top of one of the crates. It had to be his! It had the same rust marks and dents right there along the handle! He blinked and looked at Vincent who gave him a little smirk and a small shrug.

"What can I say? It saved my life twice. I've become attached to it."

Vincent reached out and took the wrench and held it out to Aiden to take with that little smirk still upon his lips. Aiden blinked then found himself laughing softly despite himself. He took the wrench and held it in both of his hands and gripped it firmly.

"Thank you. I've become quite fond of it, too."

"You're welcome."

"But...how? When?"

"Hm. I told you I would take care of unfinished business, yes? So I did. And now you have your wrench back."

Their eyes met and in that moment Aiden understood that there were just some things Vincent was just not going to speak of. He recalled how the last time he'd seen Vincent, he'd instructed Aiden to let him handle any loose ends regarding his capture and to not worry about it anymore. And now Aiden understood this was part of whatever that all meant. He supposed Vincent expected him to accept it similarly to how Bernadette had done regarding her cousin's activities. Despite how he felt about it, he found himself smiling at his friend anyway.

"Is this what you wanted to show me?"

"No, it's not."

"It's not?"

Vincent chuckled and Aiden thought he looked quite pleased with himself. "While taking care of business, I happened across something that I thought you might find interesting." He placed his hands on top of a small crate about chest height before grinning cheekily at Aiden and demanding, "Close your eyes!"

Aiden blinked before he chuckled and shrugged and did as he requested. "They're closed," he promised him as if Vincent couldn't see for himself. It seemed Vincent was satisfied ‘cause he gave a small chuckle in response. Aiden heard a crate lid being lifted and suddenly the somewhat shadowy room was lit up! The soft buzzing was immediately more clear and pronounced.

"Whoa," Damien uttered behind him which made Aiden fidget as he became even more eager to see whatever this was! Vincent gave a small grunt and set something slightly heavy down on top of a crate. Then his voice told him, "Okay! Open your eyes!"

When Aiden did, he slowly opened them and blinked a few times as he pushed past the blinding, pale blue light. When his vision returned to him, he saw that Vincent was showing him a lantern which was clearly the source of the light.

Vincent's gaze was locked on Aiden's expression. While he kept a calm exterior, inside he was eager to see Aiden's reaction to such a rare specimen! Was he going to be as excited as he hoped?

Aiden gave out a loud gasp and his jaw dropped in surprise as it immediately registered what he was seeing! This was the largest piece of Fulgora's Eye he'd ever seen! Was this for real?! Was he dreaming?!

"I can't believe it! I've never seen one so big!"

He moved forward then leaned down to inspect with wide eyes. His fingers gently brushed against the lantern before he looked up at Vincent, eyes still wide. He needed details! God, he hoped Vincent would divulge something! Anything!

"How?!"

Vincent couldn't help the chuckle that escaped him at Aiden's insistence. He grinned a bit and ran his hands over his hips and gave a small shrug with an air of bashfulness.

"I came across it while taking care of business the other evening and it was left unattended so-"

"You're joking!"

"I assure you I'm not."

Aiden was astounded! He assumed Vincent had returned to the tower since he'd collected his wrench for him. Was that possibly where he'd found the Fulgora's Eye and the rest of whatever were in these crates? Before Aiden could decide on what to say next, Damien spoke up behind him and asked, "So...what is it?"

Aiden glanced over his shoulder and grinned at him.

"Fulgora's Eye!"

"Fulgora's-? Wait. Isn't that what your lantern is powered by?"

"Uh huh! But this one is MUCH bigger! And the quality is incredible! Pete's powered by a teeny, tiny piece of lowest grade! I mean, something like this is like- I mean just LOOK at it! It's exquisite!"

And so Damien did. He approached and leaned down so he was side by side with Aiden. He blinked at it and stared for a long moment before glancing over at Aiden with a touch of uncertainty.

"What am I looking for exactly?"

Aiden huffed at him exasperatedly which drew a snort from Vincent (who was feeling amused at this point). Aiden looked back at the lantern and pointed out along the outside as he explained to Damien, "See how you can see the colors so clearly around the edges? All those vibrant blues and purples and greens? Remember I showed you Pete's a couple weeks back? His is a low grade piece so it doesn't have all these colors and the base color is more subdued. The more colors and light, the better quality it is."

As Aiden explained all this and then more to Damien, Vincent watched the younger man and how he seemed to just thrive and enjoy talking about Fulgora's Eye and seemed on the verge of launching into a full blown lecture. Aiden loved what he did and he could see more than the financial value in such an important piece like this. It made Vincent admire Aiden even more. And as he listened, Vincent found himself smiling softly. It made him feel happy to see Aiden so lit up and excited over something like this; more like his normal self. It was a beautiful thing.

"...and you could even break it apart into smaller pieces and use it for different things! It's what I'd do!"

"Something like this could change your entire life," Vincent thought aloud to Aiden. "You could live lavishly ‘til the end of your days. Not only you, but future generations of yours to come as well. You wouldn't be tempted to just sell it?" He quirked his brow at Aiden which gave the younger man the impression he was being assessed.

Aiden smiled sheepishly and shrugged as their eyes met. "Well, if I'm honest, if I had something like that in my possession of course I would want to keep a small piece for myself: enough to sustain me and my own comfortably for the rest of our lives so we can do what we love and have some put away. I'd be a madman to pass that up, but the rest of it? No, I'd be using it in my craft. If I can make something like Pete come to life with such a tiny piece, just imagine what I can do with something like this!"

"I don't want to imagine. I want you to show me."

"...Show...you..?"

"You're the kind of man who is honest. You know the value of a treasure like this, yet you see more in its worth than something as simple as gold. I know you'd make good use of it. So, if you swear to me that you will do as you said you will, then it's yours."

Damien inhaled sharply and grumbled behind him, but right now Aiden didn't hear nor care.

Aiden felt his heart thump hard in his chest. Was Vincent serious?! Everything about him right now indicated it was so. Vincent seemed to really want to do this for him, to give him this. Was this a dream?! No, he knew it wasn't but he almost couldn't believe it!

Aiden nibbled his lower lip then straightened as well and stared right into Vincent's eyes. His teeth released his lip as he broke into a soft smile and reached out with his hand and extended his pinky towards Vincent.

"The pinky promise is the most sacred of promises, yes?"

Vincent's brow quirked up at Aiden with a touch of surprise before responding with all seriousness, "The most absolute sacred. I don't take pinky promises lightly, good Sir."

"Nor do I," Aiden agreed. He leaned in a touch closer and swore, "I promise and give you my word."

Vincent stared back up at Aiden for a moment longer before reaching out and hooking his finger with his. It was just a simple touch of their fingers, but Aiden's touch felt warm, pleasant, tingly against Vincent's skin. Despite the calluses on his fingers, his touch was soft. It felt...kinda nice after all.

"I look forward to seeing what you do with it."

"Am I dreaming? Is it really mine, Vincent?"

Aiden released Vincent's finger then turned his adoring gaze back upon the Fulgora's Eye as Vincent laughed softly and folded his arms over his chest. "No, you're not dreaming," he assured him and gently patted his shoulder. "It's really yours."

"I can't wait!" Aiden was saying as he lifted the lantern and brought it close for inspection. There was a clearing of a throat beside him and he became aware of Damien's presence once again.

"So, why don't you just go get your tools then come back?"

Aiden grinned at Damien before glancing back at the lantern again. "I would love to, but I know I don't have all the necessary equipment yet. I'll need to go to a mechanic shop and the library. Probably a general store, too. I'll need something to store the smaller pieces in as well. I know! I'll just go tomorrow and then hopefully be able to start playing with it the day after, once I'm sure I have everything! Besides," Aiden finished with a cheeky grin cast in Damien's direction, "Vincent and I had plans. However, you both are welcome to watch when I do take it apart!"

"I want to see!" Vincent agreed a little more eagerly than he'd anticipated. He cleared his throat softly as Aiden grinned more beside him and looked a little pleased with himself. "Damien, you should come watch! I know you're curious, too! Don't deny it!"

"I'm not denying it!" Damien replied with a small chuckle. "Fine, I'll come along. What plans do you have today anyways that has you so busy?"

Aiden glanced over at Vincent curiously. Had Vincent had anything in mind when he'd invited Aiden over? They hadn't discussed plans other than Vincent simply inviting Aiden over for company to presumably show him this. He really hoped there would be more time spent together today. While he was grateful for the time right now, he really wanted to spend some time alone with him.

Vincent's eyes flicked towards Aiden with a slight quirk in the corner of his mouth, a mischievous smile peeking. His gaze returned to his best friend with a nonchalant shrug and responded, "I suppose we shall see how the rest of the afternoon goes."

Thankfully, it seemed, Vincent wasn't ready to get rid of him yet! And even better, Aiden thought, Vincent walked around Aiden and reached out and patted Damien's back and began to guide him to turn towards the door and announced, "And while I enjoy your company, mon ami, I did promise my time to Aiden for the rest of the evening."

Behind them Aiden was grinning hugely. He felt so damn pleased with how this day was turning out after all! Eagerly, he set down the Fulgora's Eye back inside its crate. With a final longing gaze at his new treasure, he set the lid down with much anticipation for what was to come! When he rejoined Vincent and Damien a minute later, the duo were saying their goodbyes.

"I'll be seeing you soon, Damien."

"Walk me down?"

"Hm. Sure. I'll be right back, Aiden."

Aiden nodded to Vincent, then looked at Damien and smiled slightly. "See you soon. Take care."

"You as well," Damien replied with a slight nod before turning and sliding his arm around Vincent's shoulders as they turned to descend the stairs together.

Aiden licked his lips and followed them out, standing by the front of the flat and leaned against the wall. He wanted to be here to make sure Vincent wasn't over-extending himself. Vincent had just been out and about all morning, and now he was walking up and down the steps again. He was worried. Something felt off. Aiden just...had a feeling he would be needed but he didn't know what for. It was only a minute later that Vincent's voice carried up from the stairwell below quite clearly.

"You know, Damien, this means you CAN go to your family reunion after all," Vincent was telling Damien as they made it to the bottom floor and stood in front of the main door.

"I'd rather not. Your company is much more agreeable."

"Heh. And deny your dear Aunt Victoria the pleasure of discovering that you are still yet to be married?"

Vincent grinned darkly up at his friend who scoffed and folded his arms unamusedly.

"Admit it. You need me here."

Not phased by his friend's unamused expression, Vincent reached out and graciously opened the door for Damien. He continued on with a much more pleasant grin, eyes lit in merriment. Only this time, he spoke in a higher pitched voice as if imitating an elderly woman. It seemed he was in quite a mood!

"Why Damien, you're such a strapping young lad!"

"Vincent-"

"You need to find yourself a nice young woman," Vincent continued in his high pitched voice and unceremoniously reached out and pushed Damien towards the open door, "and settle down. In fact-"

"This isn't very nice of you, you know!"

"I never claimed to be nice! You just decided that all on your own!"

With a chuckle, Vincent finished pushing Damien out the door and followed him down the steps towards the street. Ah, that had been funny!

"And why should I go?!" Damien demanded suddenly and loudly as he turned on his heel. He straightened his shoulders as he leveled his gaze at Vincent. "I'd be gone for two long weeks! What if something bad happens to one of us while I'm gone?"

All signs of humor were gone from Vincent's face as if it had slapped it right off of him. Indeed, he felt as if he'd been slapped! His lips curved down into a soft frown and his brow furrowed. Before he could recover and say anything, Damien took a step closer, his voice and expression softening.

"What if I'm needed here? Don't you want me to be here, Vincent? Just in case something happens?"

Vincent's gaze lifted and he met Damien's imploring eyes. And in the corner of his eye, he could see that other folks on the street were starting to notice the commotion. Swallowing hard, Vincent took a slightly shaky breath and replied, "You know I want you here. But it's important to your sister." With a stronger voice, he encouraged Damien, "She's been asking you to come for years, Damien. Now you have the chance to finally do this. You should go."

"Vincent, what if something happens to me?"

"Damien, please-"

"I would be gone for two weeks!" Damien reiterated. "How much bhang have you had today, anyway? You must still be intoxicated. Think about it, Vincent! It would not be wise for you to be alone for so long."

Vincent's eyes lowered slightly and he gave a reluctant sigh. Already, Damien could see Vincent was starting to see reason. He gave a reassuring smile and opened his mouth to speak to Vincent once again but was suddenly cut off by Aiden's intruding voice cutting in as bold as brass:

"He won't be alone. But that's besides the point. Vincent is perfectly capable of taking care of himself. He doesn't need to be coddled."

Emerging from behind the door, Aiden's eyes sought out Damien's with a coldness in his expression that Damien hadn't witnessed before. Damien's lips curved into a sneer as he snapped, "Aiden, you have no business in this conversation!"

Choosing to ignore Damien, Aiden stepped down from the small staircase to stand before Vincent who had turned, surprised. Aiden gazed down at his beloved captain and his expression softened and filled with empathy. Vincent was staring up at him with his lips pressed in a thin line and hurt in his eyes. But it wasn't because of Aiden, no. It had been Damien. Damien had sparked and triggered Vincent's traumas and Aiden knew this. He'd heard everything. That had been a manipulative move on Damien's part, he'd felt. Aiden had never seen Vincent publicly come close to breaking his composure; not like this.

"Aiden, leave us and get back upstairs!" Damien growled at the younger man. But it was Vincent who responded instead. And with it came Vincent's quiet, commanding Captain's voice that would permit no room for argument.

"Go home, Damien," Vincent commanded as turned around to face Damien, squaring his shoulders and giving him an even expression. Damien looked completely flabbergasted!

"Why me?! Why don't you send HIM home so you and I can talk?!"

"This has nothing to do with Aiden. I simply do not wish to discuss this with you right now."

Damien stared directly back into Vincent's eyes as if trying to stare him down. Surely, Vincent was not being serious?! After several seconds, he realized that Vincent was, indeed, quite serious. Grinding his teeth, Damien spat out, "Fine! I see how it is! You're choosing him."

"What?!" both Vincent and Aiden exclaimed, but Damien offered no further explanation. Instead, he turned on his heel and left with an angry snarl of "Move!" to a few people in his way. They all quickly jumped out of his way to avoid being bumped angrily into.

Vincent stood there on the curb, staring after Damien. What...had just happened?! Sure, he and Damien had had their disputes before but never had it escalated like this! Once Damien was out of sight, Vincent turned to go back inside to hide and process all this...only to find himself face to face with Aiden who looked as confused and upset as he was.

'Fuck,' Vincent thought silently. Avoiding Aiden's eyes, Vincent stared at his chin instead and tucked his hands behind his back as he spoke in a slightly emotionless voice, "Thank you for wanting to help, but I'm fine. Damien's fine. We're fine. We'll get it sorted and talked out. Forgive me, but I find myself no longer well enough for company."

"Of course. I understand," Aiden replied, disappointed but willing of course. Vincent nodded appreciatively then looked down and began to move past Aiden to head back upstairs and try to forget any of this was happening. He'd figure things out with Damien later, but all the elation of the day was long gone. He was ready to be done with the day already and just hide. It had started off all so wonderfully today...

Aiden had made it down to the street curb already and he could hear the door closing behind him. Suddenly something came to him and he whirled around and called out, "Vincent!"

Vincent had the door nearly halfway closed when Aiden had called to him. He paused and turned to face Aiden once again. Still, he didn't meet his eyes. What could Aiden want from him now?

"Yes?"

"Please promise me."

"Promise you what, Aiden?"

"Look at me."

And Vincent, despite himself, did. He took a deep breath then slowly lifted his gaze to meet Aiden's. He was unsure what he'd see there. But he saw that he really DIDN'T have anything to worry about. There was no judgment in Aiden's face; simply concern.

"Promise me that you will take care of yourself?" Aiden licked his lips nervously as he tried to get the words out. He really didn't want to say the wrong thing but he wanted Vincent to not drown himself in his sorrows the way he had done in the past, with alcohol. "Please be kind to yourself."

Vincent stared at him for a moment before he actually stepped out once more and closed the door behind him. Aiden felt his nerves flare to life as Vincent proceeded to walk down the steps to stand before Aiden and stared up at him without a word. Then after a moment, he said softly but sincerely, "I promise."

Aiden smiled softly and gave a small nod. That was enough for him. He smiled a little more and replied, "Good. Then I will be seeing you soon, Captain. If you change your mind and would like some company or if you're needing a distraction...you know where I'll be."

Vincent watched as Aiden turned to leave. As he watched Aiden's departing backside, Vincent turned to head back inside. He wet his lips and felt an unpleasant ache settling into the pit of his stomach. He began to realize that maybe he didn't want to be alone after all; but not for just anyone's company. But maybe that would be more reason to let him go back to Leon Claw?

"You're not going to make me pinky promise?" Vincent blurted suddenly. Aiden, though surprised, turned and grinned back at Vincent. Why wasn't Vincent just letting him go back to Leon's Claw? Did he not want to say goodbye after all?

"You are a man of your word. I trust you. Besides, I know you can do this."

"Oh. Well...thank you."

Vincent wrapped his arms around his own abdomen as he gazed across the way at Aiden who was waiting almost expectantly for something else. Why wasn't Aiden leaving?! Oh, right...he'd called the man back to talk to him but now that was done with right? Feeling suddenly uncharacteristically nervous, Vincent gave a small nod and bid Aiden farewell once more.

"Well...see you soon."

Aiden chuckled and replied, "Very soon. Be well, Vincent."

And this time Vincent did let Aiden leave. He watched the young man depart before turning to head back upstairs and thought of his young friend. Even in some of the worst times, it seemed, Aiden was still able to find ways to make Vincent smile; to feel lighter and less weighed down.

Once back up in his flat, Vincent went right up to the cabinet where he stored his bottles of alcohol and grabbed all three of them down. Without another thought, he began to empty them down the drain.

Aiden believed in him and he wanted to have that belief in himself, too. While he was doing this for himself, whether he wanted to admit it or not, Aiden's approval was something of significance to him. Oh, what an enigma in his life, Aiden was!

Profile

Name: Harper Gail Reddick

Hero's name: Armorclad

Age: 37

Bio: Harper's origins are unknown, but she claims have to be born Vermont and has a "conflicted past". Harper has worked as a parachute instructor for various individuals, the Air Force, and has taught people the art of parachuting in lessons. When her young cousin, Wesley, was stricken with bone marrow cancer, she tried her best to get medical supplies, but her own family went bankrupt to due to her relatives losing money after gambling for a lot of times.

Racing against time, she tried to look for a cure, and when she tried to get some dinner for her family, she saw a shipping at the docks which was going to be delivered to Beijing. Harper sneaked to the building and found a box which contained cures for bone marrow cancer. Unfortunately, she was caught stealing by some men. who were working under Hendrix's orders. Harper tried to run away, but caught a power armor and wore it on, activating the stealth mode. She evaded them and went home. Her family, close at Wesley's side, were worried until Harper injected the cure in his neck.

A few weeks later, Wesley was cured, but apparently Harper felt she had a responsibility to take care of her cousin, and along with the suit, she decided to abandon her duty as a parachute instructor, and went on to become a superhero, while looking for the person who was willing to donate his bone marrow for Wesley...

Powers and abilities: None. Probably the only human, powerless superhero in the series/universe. Expert parachute instructor, some martial arts prowess, stealth, knowledge of military equipment. The suit provides super strength, ability to leap towers, night vision, durability, 360 vision, stealth mode, maybe able to fire mini missiles from her shoulders and use weapons from her armor and gauntlets.

Weaknesses: Being overprotective, Wesley dying, her strained relationship with her relatives

Equipment: Black armor, power gauntlets, near-invulnerable helmet, custom built in full body suit and gadgets.

Personality: Strong, courageous, can be strict, selfless, sometimes cold, honest, dedicated.

Well this one was a dud.

By the title and liner notes I was expecting a book about birding, what I got was the memoir of an overprotective mother, her awkward teenaged son, and her struggle to let go. It was obvious the family led a privileged lifestyle, so I found her constant whining over trivial issues a bit hard to stomach as well.

Not a book I would recommend. After all the woman even made a cruise around the Galapagos Islands in a private yacht sound boring.

Yes, I might be a “little” overprotective of my car, so I rarely take him out during the winter. Unfortunately, I tried starting him up only to find his battery was dead...oops. Thankfully he just needed a quick jump and he was good to go!

Sidewalk Heroes is a series where I use the pavement opposite to my home as a stage to photograph the passers-by in their everyday life.

Golden Glider:

For most of her life, Lisa Snart has lived in the shadow of her older brother. Always behind him, being blocked from the outside world. It wasn't until the incident that she learned he did it out of love. During one of their first "heists," they stole a map to a hidden treasure. A few days later, they found the chest and a mysterious giant coin hidden in a damp cave. Going against her brother's orders, Lisa went up and grabbed the giant coin, unaware it was cursed. The curse then transferred to her, making her skin gold, and granting her intangibility. But the intangibility only worked when the moonlight shone on her, and then she couldn't turn it off while the moonlight was on. She first discovered this when they left the cave, and she dropped the chest, resulting in it falling into the sea. She then left her brother and returned three years later to join his team. She now works with them, but with Scudder the most as his mirror expertise helps utilize her powers. She is aware of his feelings for her, and has some for him as well, not that she'll ever tell her brother for Leonard is always a bit overprotective. Lisa also has distrust for Jesse, as she doesn't know much about him, and that uneases her. She is one of their most valuable assets in the field due to her powers, but not the best when it comes to operating their ship.

Fig-Formula: GotGV2 Ayesha head/hair, SW Captain Tarpals torso/hands/legs, and C-3PO arms.

Trickster:

Not much is known about Jesse's life before he met the Rogues. In fact, Top is the only one who even knows his first name. He just showed up one day on their ship, and declared he was joining them, gifting them with the gem they were going to steal next. They were skeptical, but when he helped them evade the authorities they gave him a chance. He has since proved himself time and again to be loyal to the team, forming strong bonds with Sam and Rosalind, though no-one else really trusts him, especially Lisa. Jesse possesses a vast knowledge of how ships work, greatly helping them with "The Rogue." He also has many trick-items, which he keeps in a locked trunk under his hammock. He uses them to the team's advantage in the field, and is the best at improvising whenever the plans go south.

Fig-Formula: Trickster hair, HP George Weasley head, Pirates pauldrons and torso, LBM Robin arms with flesh hands, and SW Celebration Luke legs.

Sorry it's been a while since the last post of these guys. I'm not completely satisfied with Trickster's outfit, but I think it works. Well, tell me what you think, thank you for reading, and have a wonderful day!

Hi there, my name is Shaylee Nightfire, and i'm half Dragon and half Faerie. My dad is a badass Slayer Dragon and my mom is a Faerie Queen. And that means it's time to stay with my mom Bella, Queen of Fae and the Elven Forest in Second Life, for a while. She and the Faeries can teach me how to have some fun! Yay! My big brother Aiden lives nearby too, but don't let him scare you off. He's just a little overprotective of his little sis. But he'll get over it!

It's really cool! There's elves and faeries everywhere!

Greer Grant was a native of Chicago, Illinois. She was a sophomore at the University of Chicago when she met her future husband, policeman Bill Nelson. She left college to marry him. The marriage was a strong one, flawed only by Bill's overprotective nature. Bill was killed in an off-duty shooting, and Greer had to find a job of her own. After weeks of searching, she ran into her old physics professor, Dr. Joanne Tumulo, and signed on as her research assistant.

Dr. Tumulo was working on human enhancement methods effective for women. For several reasons, including distrust for the haphephobic Malcolm Donalbain (Tumulo's financial backer), distaste for Shirlee Bryant (his chosen subject), and Greer's own enthusiasm, Tumolo decided to let her friend undergo the treatment as well.

Greer emerged from the regimen with greatly enhanced physical and mental capabilities, including the peculiar tendency to feel others' pain. Shirlee emerged with similar physical capacity but considerably less mental empowerment, a result they blamed on her lack of adherence to the preparatory regimen.

Tumolo then investigated further, and discovered that Donalbain had created a mind-control device and a set of cat-themed gadgets, with which he intended to make Shirlee his mindless superhuman enforcer. However, she fell to her death while testing the grapple-claw.

Stealing away, Dr. Tumulo presented the story to Greer, along with a spare Cat costume and gadget-set as evidence. However, her intention to call the police was thwarted by a bombing at her lab, which claimed her life. Greer then donned the suit, and set out to put an end to his scheme. With her powers, she adapted quickly to the strange garb and attacked Donalbain's headquarters, before convincing him to commit suicide rather than let himself be touched. A fire set off by the earlier fight then destroyed Donalbain's headquarters, including his copy of the enhancement machine.

Greer then embarked on a brief crimefighting career as the Cat.

Years later, another of Donalbain's Cat costumes surfaced when Patsy Walker discovered it while accompanying the Avengers. Donning it, she began calling herself the Hellcat.

"The Tigra" is the historical defender/champion of the Cat People, a humanoid race created by sorcery during the Dark Ages. Concerned about the Cat People's uncontrollable population growth and savagery, a community of sorcerers eventually banished the entire original Cat People population to a demonic netherworldly realm.

The two very first Cat People, who were themselves very capable scientists and sorcerers, were able to evade banishment through their magic. They continued to live among humanity in secret and worked to refine the Cat People's biology to make a peaceful integration into the human population possible. They were constantly attacked and required a protector. Discovering that the original spell for transforming cats into Cat People like themselves had been rendered inoperative, they created a process combining science, sorcery, and focused mental power that could transform a human female into a "Tigra", a humanoid tiger-like being with abilities that far surpassed those of either race.

This unnamed first Tigra defended the Cat People with great effectiveness, and allowed a new community to establish themselves on Earth, separate from the group that had been banished. This new population continued to live amongst humanity in secrecy through the present day, relying on enchantments that cast the illusion of a human appearance.

Nothing is known about the other Tigras who may have existed, or even if there have been more than two. At the time when Greer was transformed into Tigra, "the Tigra" was only remembered by the Cat People as a distant, but powerful, legend. It has been strongly implied that only one Tigra can exist at any given time.

Dr. Tumulo was revealed to be one of these modern Cat People. When members of HYDRA tracked Tumolo down to obtain "the Final Secret" (the Black Death plague, which was another creation of the first two Cat People), Greer once again donned the Cat costume and drove them off. However, she was mortally injured by a blast from one of their alpha radiation pistols.

Greer regained consciousness in a Baja California cave, surrounded by a gathering of Cat People summoned by Tumolo. Rapidly dying from the radiation's effects, Greer was offered one last hope of survival: a combination of ancient science, sorcery, and mental power that would transform her into Tigra, the Cat People's legendary half-human, half-cat warrior. She readily consented, began wearing only her black bikini from this time on, and arose from the ceremony as a superhumanly-powered human-animal hybrid. Striped fur covered her entire body, her hands and feet bore razor-sharp claws, her teeth became long and pointed, and her eyes were now cat's eyes. In addition to superhuman strength and senses, she also gained many of the drives and instincts of a cat. Soon after, she encountered the Werewolf.

Though initially unable to change back to her human self, Tigra received from the Cat People a mystical cat-headed amulet that allowed her to first create the illusion of her human form and later to change at will. She seldom made use of it, preferring her feline superpowered form and mostly abandoning her life as Greer Grant Nelson.

Greer resumed her superhero career, with most of the world unaware that the woman who briefly fought crime as the Cat was now the feline Tigra. She fought alongside most of Marvel's heavy-hitters in wide-ranging adventures. She first battled Kraven the Hunter, and then teamed with Spider-Man against Kraven. She also became a friend and associate of the Fantastic Four.

When the Avengers found themselves shorthanded, Moondragon used her mental powers to compel a dozen unaffiliated heroes (apparently selected at random) to travel to Avengers Mansion and audition for the vacant position. Though he disapproved of Moondragon's methods, Captain America offered Tigra a spot on the team.

Although Tigra's first tenure with the Avengers was brief, she served well. She also aided the X-Men against Deathbird. Her time with the Avengers was highlighted by her saving the world from destruction by the Molecule Man single-handed, who intended to consume the planet's energy, like Galactus. Alone among the Avengers, she was able to get close enough to him to talk him out of his plan. She convinced him to seek help from a therapist and the Molecule Man has ceased to be a threat to this day.

The Avengers fought the Ghost Rider, who blasted the team with his terror-inducing hellfire. The nature of Tigra's powers caused her to be affected by the exposure on a far deeper level than her teammates. She was left with great self-doubts about her qualifications as a member of Earth's premier superhero team, particularly alongside such heavy-hitters as Thor and Iron Man. Ultimately she resigned her membership, leaving the team on good terms.

She resumed her modeling career, moving to San Francisco when employers on the East Coast proved unreceptive to the idea of a cat person model. There she befriended private investigator Jessica Drew, and aided her on several cases, but had no better luck with modeling work there than on the East Coast and accepted an offer from the Vision to become a founding member of the Avengers' new West Coast-based team. Alongside the new West Coast Avengers, she fought Graviton, and became a close friend of Wonder Man. She also began a flirtation with Henry Pym.

While with the West Coast Avengers, she seemed to have shed the remainders of her hellfire-induced self-doubt. However, the cat-like aspects of her personality (such as a penchant for savagery and a need for affection) had begun to dominate her human intellect, causing her increasing distress. She sought help from her Avengers teammates in overcoming the "cat" side of her personality, which had caused her to become the lover of both Wonder Man and Henry Pym. She also encountered and fought the Werewolf. She was transported with the West Coast Avengers by Balkatar to the realm of the Cat People. Ultimately, she came into contact with the banished colony of Cat People, whose king agreed to resolve her crisis in exchange for carrying out her historical function by murdering the Cat People's longtime foe, Master Pandemonium.

Though she initially accepted their terms, when the critical moment came at an arena in the Cat People's realm, Tigra refused to violate the Avengers' code against killing, and failed to kill Master Pandemonium. The Cat People stripped her of her "Tigra soul" (the peculiar articulation of her Tigra powers in this demonic realm). She was reduced to her normal, pre-transformation human state.

The Hellcat, who had accompanied Greer and the West Coast Avengers, lent Greer the super-suit that she used to wear as the Cat, and a battle ensued. As the tide began to turn against the Cat People, their leader released the "Tigra soul" as a means of confusing Greer. The tactic backfired: the cat-suit had been designed by a Cat Person (Tumolo) specifically to amplify Greer's human capabilities, so instead of Greer being dominated by the "Tigra soul" as before, the suit caused her human and feline personalities to successfully integrate together.

This time, Greer's transformation into the legendary cat-warrior was much more complete than before. Her strength and abilities were far greater than they were originally. Her appearance became more feline, and she grew a tail like the rest of the Cat People. She also lost the ability to shift back to a human form, though as before she showed no sense of loss for her human identity.

Her transformation was so complete and the Tigra legend was so strong among the Cat People that they immediately ceased hostilities. Tigra continues to hold a position of significant reverence among the Cat People.

The transformation also resolved the conflicts between the human and feline aspects of her personality. Tigra could now exploit the full range and ferocity of her abilities without fear of going so far that she would lose control of her actions, and she could also indulge her natural feline inclinations (such as hunting and chasing prey for enjoyment) without feeling guilty or self-conscious. This integration was confirmed in concrete ways immediately upon the team's return to Earth. Tigra performed a sport dive off the highest span of the Golden Gate Bridge, exhibiting no signs of any injury or fear of the water. She also terminated her ongoing relationship with Hank Pym, explaining that although she no longer felt a cat-like need to seek affection at every opportunity, she had no conventional human desire to be tied down to one mate, either.

She was captured by Graviton at one point, but freed the Avengers from him. Around this time, the Arthurian Lady of the Lake summoned the West Coast Avengers to England to aid the superhero team Excalibur. With the others, Tigra ventured into the realm of limbo to help stop Doctor Doom's mad plans to gain power at the cost of killing everyone in Britain.

Tigra briefly left the West Coast Avengers in a dispute over the Avengers' policy against killing. Tigra stated that she believed by her very nature that killing prey was sometimes necessary.[volume & issue needed] She joined Mockingbird and the Moon Knight in forming an independent group.

After returning to the team, Tigra inexplicably underwent another "inversion" and transformed into a more animal-like feline form, losing her human intellect completely and becoming a danger to her fellow Avengers. This was possibly due to the reality-warping machinations of Immortus, who at the time sought to distract the team so as to have unimpeded access to the Scarlet Witch. Tigra was forcibly shrunken down to sub-house cat size by Hank Pym and kept in a cage in his lab while the team tended to other urgent matters. She escaped and traveled into suburbia, where she lived as a wild animal.

She was ultimately rescued and restored to her former appearance and stability by noted witch Agatha Harkness, who was an associate of the West Coast Avengers at the time.

Tigra resumed her membership in the West Coast Avengers. On an intelligence-gathering mission in Japan, she and Iron Man battled a team of Asian supervillains known as the Pacific Overlords. During the fight, Iron Man was incapacitated and Tigra suffered a deep, critical stab wound to the abdomen before dispatching her attackers and making her escape. She flew away in the Avengers' Quinjet, intending to report back to headquarters on the Overlords' plans, but severe loss of blood caused her to lose consciousness and crash land in Arnhem Land, an Aboriginal territory in northern Australia. Rescued by Aborigines, she decided to stay put while she recovered from her wounds, naming Spider-Woman (Julia Carpenter) as her replacement. She briefly made Arnhem Land her home, enjoying the company of the Aborigines and the pleasures of living wild.

After the West Coast Avengers disbanded, Tigra resumed her wide-ranging adventures. Though no longer an active Avenger, she continued to participate in Avengers operations when needed as a member of the team's extended family.

With the aid of a new transformation device to disguise her true identity from her fellow officers, Tigra spent some time on the New York City police force. She focused much of her time on a personal case and in combating a force of vigilante police officers.

Later, mystical forces which attacked all Avengers brought her to the Avengers Mansion. There, she and all the other Avengers were entrapped by Morgan le Fay, to live out in an alternate universe where le Fay ruled, fighting alongside the others as one of the "queen"'s guards under the name "Grimalkin". After the defeat of Morgan, Tigra went off into space with Starfox to enjoy the pleasures found there. She appeared off and on, having a series of adventures as part of the ad hoc space-faring Avengers Infinity team in which she helps in preventing an extra-universal race from destroying all life in our universe.

Tigra returned to Earth with the Avengers Infinity team during the Maximum Security storyline, during which she helped to save the Earth from becoming a penal colony for alien criminals.[volume & issue needed] She played a particularly crucial role in events when the Infinity team were captured after discovering the Kree's role in recent events, with the Kree intending to lobotomize the team and make it appear as though they had destroyed another planet; due to the attention the Kree had paid to keeping the more powerful team members contained, they were unprepared for Tigra, the weakest member, to escape her bonds by returning to her smaller human form, allowing her to escape her shackles and free her teammates in time to reveal the truth.

I've decided to stop adding the date to all of these pictures because they're clearly completely off, haha.

Anyways, two days ago I celebrated one of my best friend's 20th birthday! My friend, Claire, and I drove to my friend Dawning's house to celebrate her birthday! We baked cookies (as shown above), and played tons of games like Bananagrams, Life, Clue, and Sorry! :) We also watched Monsters, Inc. :D It was a really fun day spent at home!

Oh, and I got tagged to post 10 things I wish I could say to people right now:

01. I wish we could still be close, but I really don't know if we have anything in common anymore.

02. I don't understand why you complain to me about things that other people do, and then you go off and do the same things with your boyfriend right in front of me. It gets really frustrating.

03. Stop complaining that you're fat. You're not. You're skinny and you're gorgeous and I would kill to look just like you.

04. I don't like it when we hang out together along with other people because sometimes you ignore me and I feel really left out.

05. You think you can just keep picking on people like it's no big deal, but that's not true. What you say really hurts people, including me. I can usually tolerate people, but that one day you REALLY burst my bubble, and I can never, ever forgive you.

06. I am REALLY tired of you being so overprotective over me and how you are so restricting. I'm almost 20 years old and you still treat me like I'm a child. Stop trying to control my life.

07. You're a dick and I don't know why my friend thinks you're awesome. I was completely turned off the first time I met you.

08. I have a really great time with you when it's just you and me, but when we hang out together along with other people, you act different and it kind of turns me off. I wish you could act the same way you act with me, but you try to impress them and it's not what I really see in you.

09. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. The end.

10. You're my BFF and I really wish you would come home for the summer, but you're not ;(

TAG, you're it!

*CRREEEEEEEEEK*

"Sheesh...."

TD: "....where were you?"

"I was working on the history project."

TD: "Where? Why'd you have to leave?"

"I stopped by Zander's place, alright? Relax."

TD: "I said if anything he's gonna be coming here, not the other way around."

"I just stopped by to drop some things off. Not like I stayed for diner or anything. His place is boring anyway."

TD: "Steph, I don't trust him."

"You haven't even really met him! What's wrong with you? You're being so overbearing over nothing! This isn't like you, Tim."

TD: "I was talking to Adam, okay. He's never seen the guy let alone meet him, When I told him his name, Burr...he said he knew it. And not in a good way."

"So you're being waaaay too overprotective because of something Adam said."

TD: "He said he knew the name but didn't remember from where and he looked kinda mad because of it. I didn't like it..."

"He'd get mad about not remembering his favorite Thundercat. Just relax, Tim. Zander's the biggest dork I've ever met. He's not gonna try anything, and if he does, I'm finishing the project on my own."

TD: "Steph, Somethings just wrong, I can feel it...."

"You just need to lie down or something. Nothing's happening. We're fine...."

Well, having enjoyed the day on the beach, I really must do a little schoolmistress information sharing.

These dunes are a very important habitat but have been neglected and abused over the years. The National Trust are working hard to restore the dunes to their more natural state, and increase biodiversity as a result.

Over the past 100 years, Studland’s sand dunes have become over-vegetated and have declined in biodiversity.

Climate change, air pollution and previous overprotective management have all accelerated plant growth and seen our sand dunes slowly turn into heathland and woodland.

In the 1930s about 30 per cent of Studland Bay was bare sand, now it is just two per cent.

The aim of Dynamic Dunescapes is to restore 15 per cent of the land back to bare sand.

Doing so will restore the mosaic landscape of the dunes and hopefully see an increase in rare wildlife that depends on sandy habitats. Species that will benefit from the project include sand lizards, meadow pipits and heath tiger beetles.

Please respect the signage.

It may not always be obvious what it's there for but, as usual, signage is there for a good reason.

Sand lizard habitats are rare in Britain and In the sand lizard's northern populations, such as in Great Britain, it is only able to survive along coastal heathlands where the sand is hot enough to incubate their eggs.

Males are known for their bright colorations and aggressive behaviors when competing for females. Their mating process is unique because of its relatively short time period and because males are generally more selective with who they mate with than females.

So the message is "enjoy the beach, but respect the environment".

I have no idea how many times I reuploaded this just because it looks funny when uploaded onto Flickr. I gave up ultimately.

It looks pretty yuck, my toes look funny in the small version, but when you zoom in they look normal, it's strange. Please view it on black by clicking +.

This photo is about how some times parents tend to get overprotective over their children and their children never get to mature and grow up.

The bear can either represent childishness or constantly leaning on for parental support (teddy bears are "security blankets" for children, although nowadays it seems that handphones are more important to children than soft toys).

The clouds are to represent daydreaming, or living in an overly sheltered world.

I'm so sorry for the low image quality Flickr =( I can't seem to solve it!

Yoshi: Soo, Aly~ Me and Dispari are going on a date tonight.

Alabaster: . . .>:(

Careful Yoshi..don't wanna get overprotective big brother TOO mad.

normally i don't take pictures of kids or fave them (it's the overprotective teacher in me); but i couldn't resist these two who were having such a good time trying to create bubbles

Overprotective and controlling about traffic they are... they caused this LPS-15 to tie down on the Live Wye

Nah not really, but either way, LPS-15 from Janesville tied down on the Live Wye for some reason, presumably Proviso shenanigans, but correct me if I'm wrong. Since I had gone down for Operation North Pole regardless, I joined the many foamers shooting the simple pair of geeps.

Doom’s Journal

August 29

The castle was cold this morning. If I hadn’t already executed the facilities manager I would go execute him right now. I contemplated using the Time Platform to go back and execute the facilities manager yet again, but decided the consequences would be a distraction.

Susan arrives today.

I still have to go through my notes, memorize my lines, and get the new “lair” set decorated and prepped. I really think this World Conquest Plan could be the one, it pushes all the right romantic buttons. It will make Reed look witless and controlling (not difficult), force the brother and the brute to act overprotective, and show Susan she can be empowered and fully equal to any man. In fact the entire scenario can only be defeated by Susan. Not fire, nor intellect, nor brute strength will have any effect. Only the thoughtfully applied abilities of Susan can save the world today, and “defeat” Doom.

It will be difficult of course. There’s little point in just handing her a victory, not when I’m trying to show her how strong and independent she can be. If during the day’s events her brother, or her damnable boyfriend were to be maimed (oh darn), or even killed (hee hee!), then so be it.

I changed my mind. I am going to pop into the Time Platform and execute that idiot facilities manager after all. I think it will be just the thing to relax me.

Marcus: (loitering in the Commons, sees Chris order from the food truck then go to a table, he wanders over) Let me guess -- too many onions?

Chris: (looks up, startled) What? Oh, hi. (clearly not recalling the events of that night)

Marcus: (motions at Chris' tray) You were eyeing that burger as if it offended you in some way.

Chris: (grins) No, it's fine. I was just thinking about something else.

Marcus: Then I'm intruding. I'll go--

Chris: No, stay! (surprised by his outburst) I mean, no, you're not intruding. I was just grabbing some lunch before I walked home.

Marcus: May I join you?

Chris: Sure. (smiles) No one likes to eat alone, right?

Marcus: (sits across from Chris) History has made meals a social activity. It's difficult to break with tradition. You dropped your napkin. (indicating a napkin that he'd just planted by Chris's chair)

Chris: (looking around) Huh? Oh! (spots the napkin and leans over to grab it)

Marcus: (swiftly drops the philtre from up his sleeve, into his hand, dropping a single drop into Chris' coffee then concealing the pipette in his jacket pocket as Chris sits up) The deputy isn't with you, today?

Chris: No, he got in late and dropped me off at work, so I told him to sleep in and I'd just walk home. I mean, it's broad daylight, right? So, it's not like anything's going to happen to me.

Marcus: Why would you be worrying about that?

Chris: I think somebody's stalking me.

Marcus: That sounds ominous. Why do you think so?

Chris: It's all a little weird. I was on the dunes the other night, and there was this guy, I think, and then an animal attack.

Marcus: Another animal attack?

Chris: I shouldn't have said anything.

Marcus: Why? Is it a secret? Local cops don't want the population in an uproar? That sort of thing?

Chris: Nothing like that. It's all just so weird that I think they want to figure out what really happened before they start making any public announcements. (he sipped his coffee)

Marcus: Now, I'm curious. Would you mind telling me what happened?

Chris: Why are you interested?

Marcus: Small talk. (shrugs) I'm the head of security for the Griffin Estate, so I can't help being curious about potential threats.

Chris: I'm not sure there's any threat to the Griffins. Like I said, I might have a stalker. It might even be the guy who was shot in the dunes--

Marcus: A man was shot?

Chris: Yeah, the night that I was on the dunes. (motions with his hand) See, I thought I heard someone calling me, like, by name. That's why we think it might be a stalker. I mean, if it was just someone looking to jump anybody, they wouldn't single me out by name, right?

Marcus: (watches Chris sip his coffee) Sounds reasonable.

Chris: I know it was stupid, but I went outside to see who it was. I had this idea it was Michael. Like, he was either in trouble, or just playing games with me. Next thing I know, I'm on the dunes and there was this guy, just an outline in the dark, but I realized it wasn't Michael.

Marcus: That must have been frightening.

Chris: I wasn't really scared or anything. I mean, he didn't seem dangerous. He didn't have a gun or a knife.

Marcus: But he could have had either, hidden on him.

Chris: Yeah, I guess so. (thoughtfully sips his coffee) So, he reached out to me, like he wanted to shake hands, and then this big, dark shape flew out of nowhere, and hit him, and they both went right off the dune, into a deep dip. I could hear growling sounds, that's why I'm sure it was an animal. I freaked out and ran. (looks guilty) I panicked and left the guy there.

Marcus: Fight or flight response. It's instinct, and when you don't know what you're up against, running away can be what keeps you alive. Don't beat yourself up over it.

Chris: I ran into Michael, he'd come to pick me up, and he was looking for me.

Marcus: How did he know you were in the dunes?

Chris: (shrugged) He's a really good tracker. Probably saw my footprints, or maybe he was just guessing. We heard the shot and he made me wait inside the Surf'n Sail while he called for back-up and they went out and found that guy who was shot.

Marcus: You know, the man who was shot might be the man you saw on the dunes.

Chris: That's what the sheriff thinks. His theory is that the guy was looking for someone to rob, he was jumped by the same animal that attacked those guys in the woods, and when he tried to shoot it, he accidently shot himself.

Marcus: Not an impossible scenario.

Chris: But how did he know my name? They took me in to identify him, which I couldn't, for sure, and I don't have a clue who he is.

Marcus: They haven't questioned him?

Chris: He's been unconscious since then. Coma.

Marcus: If this man in a coma is your stalker, why is the deputy still concerned for your safety?

Chris: (smiles) Michael's always been overprotective. That's how we met.

Marcus: Oh?

Chris: (nods) Some jerks who knew I'm gay, jumped me and Michael showed up, kicked their asses and drove me the rest of the way to school.

Marcus: (eyebrows rise) School? College?

Chris: (chuckles) High school.

Marcus: Oh, my. Should I be scandalized?

Chris: (blushing) No! I was seventeen, just a couple months from eighteen, and Michael was always a gentleman. I mean, we kissed, but that was all. He said he wouldn't be with me, you know, until I was eighteen. So, as soon as I turned eighteen I packed my stuff and got a bus out here.

Marcus: I enjoy a happy ending. Pardon the turn of phrase.

Chris: (chuckles then glances at his watch) I have to get going. (collects the remnants of his burger and grabs his coffee, rising)

Marcus: Why don't I walk with you? Through the woods, at least? (watching Chris toss the garbage, but keep the half-consumed coffee)

Chris: I'm just on the other side, at The Row. (gazes at Marcus for a moment) Sure, why not? Safety in numbers, right?

Marcus: Exactly what I was thinking. (he rises and they leave the Commons, walking into the woods, side by side)

(Thank you to Seth for playing Chris and to Erebus for playing Marcus.

I'm taking this opportunity to warn guys about their mesh choices. Seth spent L7,500 on a Signature shape and head, both Omega ready, intending to use Stray Dog appliers. Unfortunately, while SD makes an app for Signature bodies, it only makes head apps for Catwa & Lelutka. When he remarked on this he was told that he "should have picked the right (Catwa/Lelutka), head." I say, screw creators w/such narrow-mindedness. Guess what? Not everybody thinks Catwa & Lelutka are "the right" heads. I haven't found a single Catwa head that worked for me, and I've tried EVERY demo. I wear a LAQ head. Seth's now hunting for an alternative skin/head app to the one he hoped to get, based on a misleading blog post that failed to mention the person was wearing a body/head from 2 different makers, yet skin from one maker. If you're going to list things you're wearing, please be specific. I'm not a millennial, I own my responsibilities.)

(Maybe considering Issue 3 next week, comment below for what you think of this issue and what would you like to see for the next one)

10:46 A.M.

I've could slept longer, but I decided to work out a little. I was 2 hours earlier than usual. Adrian was up too, but he was out jogging for 45 minutes already and halfway through polishing some of his weapons. Trent was smoking outside while having calls with some other guys I don't know, maybe shipping or stuff? And Marcus is still snoring soundly, although their's a little bit of distance from our gym to his room (where the sleeping quarters are).

*15 mins later

A sweaty, sport clad Adrian came back.

"How's it going? Is he up yet?'

"Nah. Still sleeping."

"Never mind about him, on a few occasions he can sleep a lot, like back in grade 6 we used to have a competition between the 2 of us who would get up early and race to school."

*I giggle and laugh a little

"Alright I'm gonna have a shower, tell me later when I'm done"

"Sure thing boss."

I smile as Adrian starts walking to the bathroom. He and Marcus are like brothers to me, they help me a little, but aren't really that overprotective. And I consider Trent like a friend and a mentor, the three of them made me feel like home again, like the family I was supposed to have. I thought of my uncle. I really haven't met him for quite a while...

Then my thoughts get disturbed.

Marcus yawns loudly almost anyone could hear him. Trent finishes his call. Adrian is shirtless and wearing a bathrobe, walking out of the bathroom. His toned physique was showing off a little.

Adrian: So you're up.

Marcus: Yeah Adrian, bro

Adrian: Right, we're in a little bit of deep shit right now, you should know what happens next.

Marcus: What? Those guys again? At least Trent sedated him so he could shut the f*** up for a while.

Trent: I'm going down the basement. To see how he's doing.

*A quick few minutes later

Noriko: So this is him.

Trent: Yeah, looks like Marcus took it a little too far. His legs are still injured. Got some bruises on him.

Noriko: How about the datapad?

Marcus: I got it, it's supposed to be on the counter somewhere over there.

Adrian: *shrugs* Me and Trent had access to it a little bit. Thanks Trent.

Trent: No problem.

Adrian: Marc, get yourself dressed. Someone's gonna bring his crew pay a visit soon...".

*2 hours later...*

It was afternoon already. We had spent time waiting for a while, my team was preparing for weapons, scanning computers, and checking out more of the database. A knock on the door came. Trent goes to peek through the door hole.

Trent: It's the Parliament Elite, the Boss Man is here.

Marcus: How does he look like? Smiling, wearing a swimsuit? Hah, I guess the swimming pool's not ready... (there is no swimming pool at PF's base)

Trent opens the door. The boss of the P.E. comes in along with some men and women, I counted at least 5 or 6 of them in here. He looks a little tired, in those blue eyes of his. but still keeping a stern look on his face, wrinkle showing, and some greyish black hair. He doesn't look like he's shaved in a while, some salt and pepper beard on his face. The boss was wearing a suit (as usual) and looked a little burly. We get a table and sit, while only me and Trent stand, Marcus doesn't really care about it.

Boss Man: Hand us the rogue agent: We will handle it ourselves.

Adrian: Not till I get hold with him.

Boss Man: He's got something we don't have....

*talking intensifies somewhat

Wow, his voice kinda deep than my friends. Anyways, I'm still listening....

Adrian: No. That's not really gonna happen.

Boss Man: If I have something to offer if terms of the agent and the datapad, what about it? Would you take....

Marcus: *interrupts* Stop going around in circles. You want a deal? Huh, I thought you sons of bitches would do better than that. Offer me something, go and shut your trap. You can really go jerk yourselves off...

Trent: Offers? By the P.E? That's a surprise.

Boss Man: Are you handing him over? I don't have time for much of your bullshit.

Trent: Give me a few moments with him

Trent takes the rogue agent to a private room. We wait for sometime, both sides keep on talking and argue. Marcus looks at his watch sometimes.

Trent: Ok. You can have him, but not for long.

Marcus: That's why these motherf***ers shouldn't be really trusted. Really Trent? I thought he was our business, not theirs.

Adrian: *ignores Marcus a little bit*, yeah it may be, I'll just hand him over for now.

Some agents take him away. Adrian continues to talk.

Boss Man: Thank you for your "cooperation",,,,

Adrian: You're welcome, this is only "temporarily". Not "permanent". As soon as your done with him, hand him back to us, we'll deal with him ourselves.

Boss Man: *using a sly tone*: Sure, Mr Kane. And about the datapad?...Have you thought about our "offer"?

I'm not surprised that they know our names, the good thing with P.E. is that they don't reveal themselves, our identities and etc. They may know something about us, but they manage to keep it private.

Adrian: We'll see. I'll consider it.

Boss Man: *laughs a little manically* Very well. We shall meet again next time. Hmph.

The agents and the boss man leave the room. When they go, Marcus gives them the "finger" before leaving. I guess he's laughing too, under his mask. We talk again.

Trent: So what now, Adrian? Are we going to take it? You still have time to consider, but we got stuff to do right now.

Noriko: Have you thought about it yet?

Marcus: *interrupts again* Right, I might go outside and get some fresh kills, see ya, boss. *leaves quickly*

Adrian: Fine. My decision is up. I'll take the offer, but with conditions.

Trent/Noriko: We're with you.

Trent: But can he be trusted, for this time?

Marcus: Yes. We got conditions too. If we seal the deal, I've got nothing to say. We'll go find him. And accept the offer. Let's see what he's gonna plan this time....
