This is my first attempt at a stitched panorama, so be gentle with me :-))
7 Photos, handheld, with lots of overlap to assure there are no stitching artefacts. 37Mpixels all in all...
As a side note, on the very left edge of photo, there is a small hint of a bay.. There is my home town Rijeka.... it's 14-15km air line from the here...
We had a great day hiking yesterday, gorgeous weather..(finally)...
Stylistically, the building can be categorised as Brutalist. It consists of 152 unclad concrete blocks between 0.84 m3 (1.84 t) and 64 m3 (141 t); the tallest block measures 13.10 metres.
The light falls through simple glass panes inserted into the irregular spaces between the blocks, resulting in overlapping beams of light.
On the altar wall is a cast of the cross created by Wotruba for the Hofkirche in Bruchsal.
Another new species, this time from the Barbet family. This colourful Asian Barbet with crimson forehead and throat is also called Crimson-breasted Barbet. The Coppersmith Barbet is a resident bird in the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia that carves out holes inside trees to build its nest. It inhabits gardens, groves and sparse woodland with dead wood suitable for excavation of nests. Its range overlaps with several larger barbets in most of South Asia. Diet consists of banyan, peepul, and other wild figs, various drupes and berries, and the occasional insect, caught in aerial sallies. It eats nearly 1.5 to 3 times its own body weight in berries each day.
"Some things can be perfectly expressed by sound alone and images would only be disturbing. Other times, sound would be possible, but visuals are much stronger and closer to what I want to express and then again, they sometimes overlap perfectly." Alva Noto
"Plastic Space" assumes the qualities of the third dimension utilizing overlapping elements, devoid of the traditional methods of indicating the depth of spacial penetration.
I had my eyes alert for quite a while for an example of such overlapping planes and volumes. Yes, there are some converging lines at the lateral peripheries. In the created world around us it is impossible to avoid leading lines while they are quite absent in nature.
A simple study of wet leaves that caught my eye. I find with this kind of image, it's all instinctive. If it feels off, then it is, and the image won't work. It's all quite abstract, of course. But you still need that sense of completeness within the frame. Although I am aware I have a tendency to overthink things! Have a great weekend everyone.

A 1965 Dutch penny with Queen Juliana overlapping a 1948 Dutch nickel with Queen Wilhelmina. Queen Wilhelmina ruled from 1890 until 1948. Juliana was her only child and ruled from 1948 until 1980.
Macro Mondays - Queen - 7/31/17
Judging by the worn condition of this monarch, I'm guessing it was a returnee from spending the winter in Mexico. Not far away from this guy there was what looked like a new generation monarch feeding at the same time.
From the monarch migration tracking web site, it looks like we do have overlapping generations in this area during the spring migration: journeynorth.org/monarchs/news/spring-2020/04302020-eggs-...

Taken with the Viltrox AF 50mm f/2 Z full frame lens. Truly a nifty fifty. Lots of fun relearning to look for photos at this focal length
... take eight overlapping portrait format frames and stitch them together. A scene looking northward over part of Newcastle city, Australia during a brief sunny interlude this afternoon. The atmosphere is extremely humid, and the Tasman Sea is warmer than usual, as La Niña lingers. Yet more intense rain is forecast for the NSW Coast, with the prospect of another East Coast Low forming off Sydney in the next day or so, dumping even more rain on already saturated coastal catchments.
Where I live fall stays on pretty late, some say we really don't really even have four seasons. I love fall and I feel as if I've missed half of it with everything that's been going on over the last few months...So, I'm still posting fall images, technically, it is still autumn. Maybe I'll eventually get into more wintery/Christmas images, we'll see.
