The mist was great after hiking in the heat. Waterfalls are one of my favs. Apparently these were not big enough for an American we met....size queen.

(No, actually he was a nice guy. Enjoyed sharing a beer with him.)

Frazer River past the falls with Clapperhorn Mountain in the background. Okay - so who names the mountains I'd like to know.

It was a relatively easy walk to go downhill from the parking lot to the Overlander Falls of the Mount Robson Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada. Vince did well despite his back problems and walked all the way to the waterfall. The Overlander Falls was beautiful and it was really nice to be able to stretch our legs after a long drive. It felt great to cross into British Columbia as well. The beautiful mountain scenery is stunning and inspiring, similar to the rest of the Canadian Rockies.

The beginning of Year 2022 continued to be stressful with the Omicron variant of COVID-19. Work was also extremely busy. However, things were starting to look up. The vaccination effort started to pay off, and COVID-19 pandemic restrictions were lifted one by one in early 2022.

In late August 2022, we decided to do another overnight trip to the beautiful Canadian Rockies and finished a road trip we did not get the chance to do in 2020 - Mount Robson Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada. The weather was really nice for this time of the year, and we got a relatively good deal for a hotel in Hinton, Alberta. After almost five hours of driving from Edmonton, we got to the first destination at the Mount Robson Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada - the pretty Overlander Falls.

Lots and lots of moss, ferns and such. Very lush.

This was on the trail to Overlander Falls. There was tons of wild raspberries everywhere. Apparently a bear was sighted around here the day after we hiked it.

See a bear you back away slowly. Yah right. I see a bear I'm gone like free beer!

Long before the West was opened up, the most common way for Gold Rush migrants to get to Alsaka, Yukon and NorthWest territories would be to get a ship around Cape Horn and sail up the pacific west coast of the Americas. The Overlanders were the first group to attempt an overland journey. They made it but none of them made their fortune. These falls were 'discovered' by them on their intrepid journey.
