Working on an outside project today and came across these lovely little flowers who are trying to hold on despite the cold grasp of winter reaching for them.

BELGRADE: SHORT HISTORY OF AN IDENTITY

The main focus of a subject is not only valuable for photography but also for everyday life. If the picture isn’t clear for what is in focus it can be kind of confusing. Even in the human eye everything is not “ in focus”. As your reading this and you see through your peripheral vision it is clear that other from the thing you’re looking at, everything is semi blurry.

From this project I learned a number of valuable tips and tricks that I will use every day on future projects for photography and outside projects. Just like exposure and shutter speed the focal length is everything. But unlike those two (exposure and shutter speed) one cannot always fix their setting or make the picture look the way the want to if this lesson is not learned.

As always there is something that one should always focus on improving. For me I feel like I should’ve picked a different setting. I have already done a shot like this where the sun was facing the camera and it shined in the background. Although it is a difficult image to capture, there are many other settings I could’ve tried to improve my work. Then for the picture that focused on the back of the fire hydrant the front could’ve been more of a blur.

Lastly the thing that I liked the most about my picture is defiantly the setting. Even though I previously said I should’ve picked something new I still feel like there is beauty in it. I took an ordinary picture of outside of my house and made it seem semi artsy. I also like how intense the blur was for the last picture because it completely enhanced the detail.

Finally, at the end of this project I know the importance of focal length and how it positively effects your pictures
