“What was in my mind was to build something for the people of New York and for anyone who visits—a space that on first sight was dazzling, and upon use made people happy.”
— Barry Diller
In 2013, Barry Diller, in partnership with Hudson River Park Trust leadership, embarked on the unique opportunity to envision a solution for the repair and reactivation of Pier 54, recently damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Diller chose to reimagine an entirely new type of public space for New York, one that would create an immersive experience with nature and art.

GlastonBeoley Music Festival, at the Redditch Cricket Hockey & Rugby Club, in Redditch, Worcestershire, England, United Kingdom, on Friday 27th of June 2025.
About the photograph.
This is the bass guitarist named Emma, she is a member of the heavy rock band calling themselves Kalashnikov Skunk.
The Kalashnikov Skunk is a Kidderminster based covers band, delivering heavy rock songs, and what they describe on their website as ”skunked up pop songs with a heavier twist.”
In the photographs, they were seen playing at GlastonBeoley Music Festival, which is basically a local annual community music festival, raising money for charity, and they have held the event every year since the first one in 2018.
The GlastonBeoley Music Festival are one of the few UK festivals that provides British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters for some of the key performances.
A friend of mine who was taking part in the live music got an extra ticket for me, so I was able to do the photography of the event. The shots were done with a 50mm 1.8 standard lens, while very close up to the stage, then were then cropped in Adobe Photoshop for a closer view.

About the photograph.
Her name is Aalia Estrada. She is a singer/songwriter based in Redditch, and does jazz, folk, and acoustic music.
However there is extremely limited information on various websites to say more about her. That is all I know about her.
As a friend of mine whom took part in the event got me a free ticket, I was able to get to do some photography of the events on Friday evening. So the photo was taken with a 50mm lens while very close up to the stage.
What she is doing seen in the photograph, was simply that some kids got too close to the stage and wanted to dance to the music, but the kids were standing extremely close to the front row loudspeakers, and sometimes climbing on the top of the loudspeakers.
Aalia was simply pointing out the dangers, and trying to discourage the kids from touching the speakers.

About the photograph.
The GlastonBeoley Music Festival is one of the few outdoor music festivals that provide a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter for any deaf audience.
This lady is one of the BSL interpreters on stage during a performance by the Birmingham based band called Indigo Kid. She is seen here doing a sign language version of the band’s song.
Often during the gaps in the songs, like between the verses and chorus, she would simply dance around.
A friend of mine whom was doing a performance for the event, got me a free ticket, so I was able to do some live music photography. Those shots were done using a 50mm lens much closer to the stage, and cropped in Adobe Photoshop.
Also, I converted the photo into black and white for a more dramatic effect.
