I’m still waiting for my back-up files to finish downloading to my new data drive, so still no computer. Instead, another iPhone photo :-)
This is the view upriver from Britannia Point towards the Deschênes Rapids and the Quebec side of the Ottawa River. We went there looking for early migrating shorebirds, Bonaparte’s Gulls and Chimney Swifts, and struck out in all three. Still, a fabulous morning with lots of sun and temperatures in the low 20s C.

This section of the trail is always cool and shady, even when the sun is out and the sky is blue. It is a moment of respite from the heat, although it is usually very quiet with little bird song.

We are off on a birding trip to British Columbia! I won’t have much time to enjoy all your new photos until our return in mid-June. The trip couldn’t have come at a better time. A microburst storm went through our area in Saturday and we, along with most of the city and across the river in Quebec, have been without power since 15:45, May 21. Internet connection almost non-existent. So much damage that the hydro company cannot predict when repairs will be complete. The airport is mostly operational, thank goodness :)

With the Chateau Laurier in the background probably one of the last photos of my trip that I will post...I found a few on the Rebel which I had forgotten...
Plus it's been raining here non stop...picture taking is not at it's best these days.....
What a grand day this was....wow
The Ottawa River in Robert Simpson Park, Arnprior with the province of Quebec on the distant riverbank. The Ottawa River eventually joins the St Lawrence at Montreal and forms the border between Ontario and Quebec (going east) until close to Montreal.

This will most probably be the last of my trip postings.....so I though I'd go out with a dramatic type shot ....I had made a few b/w with the purple and orange filters on.....I love the detail of this magnificent old hotel against the big and puffy clouds....
Thank you for all of the great comments you have left me regarding my trip to Ottawa and Montreal.... you are the best.
A southbound rack train makes its way down the CSX Toledo Subdivision on a sunny Winter afternoon, passing the Baltimore & Ohio CPL's south of Ottawa, Ohio.
Following the gentle contours of the Ottawa Valley, a pair of G&W GP38-2s hustle along OVR's scenic North Bay Subdivision with an eighteen-car train for the paper mill at Témiscaming, Quebec. It's hard to believe that this stretch of railroad was once a part of Canadian Pacific's transcontinental mainline.

Ottawa work car C 30 and an interesting single truck car behind it (presumably also a work car). Dupe slide in my collection, photographer unknown.
As you all know by now...I love store windows....restaurant windows....I love the names...the reflections ..... the mystery of what is behind them..... I wish I could go through all the shops .....but I can't.....hence why the mystery lives within me.....
This would be one of those....but I promise myself that the next time I'm in Ottawa....I'm stopping in to visit the witch....
I hope you like.... 8-)
