COPE is the Cooperative Orthotic and Prosthetic Enterprise - a not-for-profit working in partnership with national and provincial rehabilitation centres to provide access to orthotic/prosthetic devices and rehab services for people injured by land-mines and accidents. Two or three Laotians are killed every month and another six or seven are maimed by unexploded ordnance, called UXO, left over from the Vietnam War.

When dr Les bailey first started prescribing orthotics over 30 years ago, he was a young osteopath, and developed a fascination with the effectiveness of orthotics when prescribed correctly for people with back pain caused by biomechanical misalignment of the feet. It gave dr Les Baileys patients a permanent answer to the cause of their pain, rather than a temporary fix . A PhD and a best selling book later, he owns the back and joint pain centre in caterham, and helps hundreds of people every month with his physical therapy skills and orthotic prescription.
