The blue ones are mine that I got last week, the purple ones are Ellen's she got 2.5 years ago.
Even though I had vacuum formed retainers from my orthodontist when my braces they were several years old and it was time for new ones.
I went with Hawley retainers this time since they would last longer, allow my jaw to close naturally and with less tension than the vacuum formed ones caused, and would finally be polished better than I have been able to do on previous ones I had fabricated.
And yes, I picked dark blue thinking they'd look cool sitting next to Ellen's :-)
Both sets of retainers came from Dr. Mark Joiner's office.

When Steve Zesch, the editor of the St. Louis Cardinals Gameday Magazine, sent me the original image, I noticed immediately that it needed some work.
I cleaned it up but didn't know what to do with it until my granddaughter had braces put on her teeth. I texted her a copy of this image and was told that she was happy to know that she wasn't the only who has had help with their teeth.

I assume these fake gnashers are for demonstrating and selling different brands of orthodontic braces. They were part of a tabletop display with other dental paraphernalia I spotted in a hotel lobby, which makes me wonder if they were targeting delegates at a dentistry conference.

This is the last hour at the Orthodontic's office with my daughters. My oldest had her braces taken off today!!yay. She was so excited, although she may not look it in this picture..she is!!haha
2 and 1/2 months since braces applied. Onto 2nd set of arch-wires.
I did floss today the lower teeth while the wire was out... wow, feels so good to floss without an arch-wire to contend with. I really have noticed the change in my teeth of late as I can get floss between the lower teeth so much easier than before the braces were applied, the crowding is definitely easing off!
