Winston Churchill stayed at Reid's Palace while working on his war memoirs, and painting in the nearby village of Câmara de Lobos. In honor of the great British leader, the rooms he occupied near the entrance hall are now known as the Churchill Suite, and they have become one of the hotel’s two, Presidential Suites.
The Presidential Suites have been tastefully decorated with light, fresh fabrics, Chinese hand-painted wallpapers, and bespoke silk curtains. Each suite offers one spacious bedroom with private bath, plus an oversized sitting room. However, if staff or extended family is a must, each of the two suites can be easily converted to a two bedroom suite by connecting the adjacent Junior Suites.
A coach awaited the passengers and we had a tour of Bath finishing at The Roman Baths, before departure and dinner on the return journey.
'IONE' is a first classKitchen car built 1928 and seats twenty.

The VSOE British Pullman - sister train to the Orient Express - back at London Victoria station just after 4pm on Wednesday April 24 2013. A West London Circular afternoon return excursion to Guildford, hauled as usual by Clan Line but slightly different to the usual Surrey Hills trip - with the train hired for a celebration of Yorkshire Tea. "Tea On The Train" was a special treat for tea lovers who also appreciate steam when not coming from a kettle.

Dès l'ouverture du Forum des Halles, des techniciens s'activaient pour masquer les 10 portes du cinéma
Quelques heures plus tard, un monticule de fauteuil commençait à se former dans le hall du cinéma

muore la stoffa della fantasia
l'arte di riciclare dagli stracci
e di creare tessuti sempre nuovi
a rotoli a rotoli a rotoli
ma dentro di me
non muore
l'odore
delle mani sporche di grasso di mio padre
lui sentiva la meccanica dei telai come se fosse una musica
da riparare non appena qualcosa stonava
aveva imparato dal nonno
faceva dei fori su dei rotoli di plastica
e la stoffa ordiva e tramava colori
intrecciava disegni
mi sembravano magie...
mia madre preparava i fusi
avevo imparato anch'io, era un lavoro da ragazzi
e poi rammendava
mentre la stoffa scorreva sul tavolo illuminato verso la finestra
vedeva tutti i piccoli difetti dei fili
aveva imparato dalla nonna
le tele pronte erano montagne morbide di tutti i colori
..mi ci buttavo a tuffo e rotolavo rotolavo
tutto girava girava come una bambina sempre
quando ero stanca mi ci addormentavo
era la fabbrica dei sogni
che si potevano fare
l'altro giorno mio padre al telefono dalla Polonia si è commosso
per aver visto alla tv la fine di Prato..
e ora io da quaggiu'...vorrei essere Penelope
di una tela da fare lunga 1000km e disfare e continuare
finchè tutto torna a non finire...
gli stracci da riciclare sembra siano finiti
ma lo spirito non puo' morire
è tempo di riciclare quello
