This cedar of Lebanon tree, situated at Blenheim Palace, featured in the film Harry Potter an the Order of the Phoenix.
“So silly of me. But it sounded for a teensy moment as though you were suggesting that the Ministry of Magic had ordered an attack on this boy!”
She gave a silvery laugh that made the hairs on the back of Harry’s neck stand up. A few other members of the Wizengamot laughed with her. It could not have been plainer that not one of them was really amused.
“If it is true that the dementors are taking orders only from the Ministry of Magic, and it is also true that two dementors attacked Harry and his cousin a week ago, then it follows logically that somebody at the Ministry might have ordered the attacks,” said Dumbledore politely.
“Of course, these particular dementors may have been outside Ministry control —”
“There are no dementors outside Ministry control!” snapped Fudge, who had turned brick red.

I recently got a package with some parts in my favourite color — metallic silver :)
Didn't order them for a special purpose, but I just like that color so much and they were relatively cheap.
Anyway now I tried to make a floor design out of these and I'm quite happy with it. The parts are such under pressure in the frame so that you can even lift it up without the floor falling down.
You might wonder why Dombledore's hair is so short. The reasoson for this is that there isn't any white hair piece with long hair that would fit for the great wizard. And the color white was very important for me — you'll see later why.

“You’re late, Potter,” said Snape coldly, as Harry closed the door behind him.
Snape was standing with his back to Harry, removing, as usual, certain of his thoughts and placing them carefully in Dumbledore’s Pensieve.
He dropped the last silvery strand into the stone basin and turned to face Harry.
“So,” he said. “Have you been practicing?”
“Yes,” Harry lied, looking carefully at one of the legs of Snape’s desk.
“Well, we’ll soon find out, won’t we?” said Snape smoothly. “Wand out, Potter.”

Voldemort tries to see into Harry’s mind again and again, tries to take control of his thoughts. Nevertheless Harry doesn’t take these private lessons with Snape too serious...
On top Harry finds out things about his father and Snape that might have been better remained secret, so Snape finally cancels further training.

My "BIG" entry for the Brothers Brick Microscale Magic contest.
This is one of my favorite scenes from the movies. I'd say it's probably the best wizard battle I've ever seen in a movie.
I love this scene. While your standard loud blockbuster fare, it just worked here as a completely unexpected change of pace, turning the movie into a crazy magic show and giving you a taste of what true masters of magic can do.
Purist all the way, the veil is the invisicape.
He snatched up his wand from his bedside table and stood facing his bedroom door, listening with all his might. Next moment he jumped as the lock gave a loud click and his door swung open.
Harry stood motionless, staring through the open door at the dark upstairs landing, straining his ears for further sounds, but none came. He hesitated for a moment and then moved swiftly and silently out of his room to the head of the stairs.
His heart shot upward into his throat. There were people standing in the shadowy hall below, silhouetted against the streetlight glowing through the glass door; eight or nine of them, all, as far as he could see, looking up at him.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 3
─────────────────────────────
So finally my third scene is here. You'll find out soon, why it took a bit longer again and I hope you'll like the reason.
Anyway now we see some members of the Order for the first time here. We have two Aurors here: Nymphadora Tonks with her flashy hair and behind her Kingsley Shacklebolt. Where's Moody? Well, he has to wait a bit, because I'm still looking for a cheaper kitbash alternative than the official minifigure as I don't own it so far...
But now it's time to mount your brooms and take off — they're waiting for us at the headquarters!

Last year I made a series of Disney Princess Christmas Ornaments for my family's Christmas tree, using the LEGO baubles as a base.
Obviously this Christmas demanded a new series of baubles and what could be more fitting this year than Harry Potter?
Finding a scene for each movie that wasn't all serious and dark was a bit of a challenge but with the Quidditch pitch and Diagon Alley I found a nice solution for the last two books. I really loved creating the different beasts, especially the different dragons.
----------
Just in case someone needs a description for the seven depicted scenes (one from each book):
1. Hogwarts with the boats on the lake
2. The Chamber of Secrets with Fawkes fighting the Basilisk and Slytherin's face in the background
3. Buckbeak next to Hagrid's Hut
4. The Hungarian Horntail / Harry's second task in the Triwizard Tournament
5. Hogsmeade – Madam Puddifoot's anyone?
6. Quidditch pitch, Ron's a keeper now!
7. Escaping Gringotts on the back of a Ukrainian Ironbelly
----------
These baubles are dedicated to the six people that brought and are still bringing Harry's Magical Journey to life. It is such a tremendous joy to see the project in such good hands, with each iteration bringing something new to the table.
Please consider heading over to Mel's stream for this months edition!

I hope you like them – let me know what you think!
Harry was pointing the wand directly at Dudley’s heart. Harry could feel fourteen years’ hatred of Dudley pounding in his veins — what wouldn’t he give to strike now, to jinx Dudley so thoroughly he’d have to crawl home like an insect,
struck dumb, sprouting feelers —
“Don’t ever talk about that again,” Harry snarled. “D’you understand
me?”
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 1

So finally here’s my first MOC of the fifth book.
This scene doesn't provide too much material to build, but anyway it is an important start into the fifth year.
I didn't know there are already so many arms with short sleeves available for minifigs in flesh, but I'm really glad about that. Normal ones woud have looked odd here in this scene where the sun is burning down to the playground.

“But if none of you’s putting the news out that Voldemort’s back —” Harry began.
“Who said none of us was putting the news out?” said Sirius. “Why d’you think Dumbledore’s in such trouble?”
“What d’you mean?” Harry asked.
“They’re trying to discredit him,” said Lupin. “Didn’t you see the Daily Prophet last week? They reported that he’d been voted out of the Chairmanship of the International Confederation of Wizards because he’s getting old and losing his grip, but it’s not true, he was voted out by Ministry wizards after he made a speech announcing Voldemort’s return. They’ve demoted him from Chief Warlock on the Wizengamot — that’s the Wizard High Court — and they’re talking about taking away his Order of Merlin, First Class, too.”

Welcome to № 12 Grimmauld Place, former home of the Blacks and now Headquarter of the Order of the Phoenix.
Sadly Ron, Hermione and Molly didn't fit on the limited base any more, but I was quite happy to get the others - particularly the twins - in here. The seating arrengement is the same as in the movie btw.
The credits for the chair legs go to Markus. He used similar ones in his version of the Weasley's kitchen.

“Right,” said Harry, when she had sat down again, “shall we get practicing then? I was thinking, the first thing we should do is Expelliarmus, you know, the Disarming Charm. I know it’s pretty basic but I’ve found it really useful —”
“Oh please,” said Zacharias Smith, rolling his eyes and folding his arms. “I don’t think Expelliarmus is exactly going to help us against You-Know-Who, do you?”
“I’ve used it against him,” said Harry quietly. “It saved my life last June.”
Smith opened his mouth stupidly. The rest of the room was very quiet.
“But if you think it’s beneath you, you can leave,” Harry said.
Smith did not move. Nor did anybody else.

So here’s the room of requirement. Wasn’t easy to take this picture because the clips of the Death Eater Puppet dont hold together so well and especially the wheel tends to jump apart.

Black shapes were emerging out of thin air all around them, blocking their way left and right; eyes glinted through slits in hoods, a dozen lit wand tips were pointing directly at their hearts. Ginny gave a gasp of horror.
“To me, Potter,” repeated the drawling voice of Lucius Malfoy as he held out his hand, palm up.
Harry’s insides plummeted sickeningly. They were trapped and outnumbered two to one.
“To me,” said Malfoy yet again.
“Where’s Sirius?” Harry said.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 35
─────────────────────────────
Where’s Sirius?
A tricky question as in the book he isn’t there indeed.
In the movie however Sirius sneaks up from behind and finally beats his fist on Malfoy’s face after Harry gave him the prophecy.
Unfortunately this is one of the last actions we see from Harry’s godfather.
RIP, Padfoot.
Also check out Max’ beautifully built version of the veil.

“No!” she shrieked. “NO! This cannot be happening. . . . It cannot . . . I refuse to accept it!”
“You didn’t realize this was coming?” said a high girlish voice, sounding callously amused, and Harry, moving slightly to his right, saw that Trelawney’s terrifying vision was nothing other than Professor Umbridge. “Incapable though you are of predicting even tomorrow’s weather, you must surely have realized that your pitiful performance during my inspections, and lack of any improvement, would make it inevitable you would be sacked?”
“You c-can’t!” howled Professor Trelawney, tears streaming down her face from behind her enormous lenses, “you c-can’t sack me! I’ve b-been here sixteen years! H-Hogwarts is m-my h-home!”

“Harry, you don’t understand! Dumbledore will need to act as quickly as possible, the Ministry have their own ways of detecting underage magic, they’ll know already, you mark my words —”
“But I was getting rid of dementors, I had to use magic — they’re going to be more worried what dementors were doing floating around Wisteria Walk, surely?”
“Oh my dear, I wish it were so but I’m afraid”

Another week is over and I only had time for one scene, but I hope it'll get a bit better now.
I wanted to build a scene with Mrs. Figg. She's not so popular, but an important character as she got orders from Dumbledore to keep an eye on Harry.
Because of choosing to include her I skipped the scene with the dementors, but the underpass wouldn't have been so interesting to build anyway.

This time of year always gets me in the mood to rewatch the HP series.
Here is my latest build, testing out the New Studio! Hoping for slightly higher production values going forward, (still need to steam the blue screen).
I really like how this looks.
I don’t go out of my way too often for HP sets, I don’t have room for a giant ever-growing castle, but I really like some of their individual “home spaces”. The most recent Burrow (#75980) was excellent, and this townhouse is looking like my favorite HP dwelling for 2022.
The gimmick is great, works well, and allows for figures to be displayed in most of the area without interfering with the transformation.
Figure selection is large and great. All are printed well with detail, save Mrs. Weasley. Her orange pajamas jumpsuit looks off to me?
All come with accessories (even two distinct hair pieces for Tonks), and there are more than enough cups/goblets to go around.
The build was fairly straightforward “building building”, broken up nicely into little sections. Some details were heavily reliable on stickers, but it’s an 8+ set, these things are expected.
I think this could easily be converted to a modular (minus the transformation) that would look really good in any LEGO City.
(Last photo for scale, afterthought, with bad lighting)

Snape.
I have so much love, understanding and anger with this character. He is one of the most complex characters in the Potter universe and Alan Rickman brought Snape to life perfectly (and many other characters in other movies/shows) but he will ALWAYS be Severus Snape to me.
His passing pulled dearly on my heartstrings.
I am listening to "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" on the iPod. I love my haircut in this pic.
Still WIP model of a LEGO Modular-ish 12 Grimmauld Place, the home of Sirius Black and the Order of the Phoenix.
While not yet completed, there are three levels, an attack, and Kreacher’s basement. Rooms include entry hall, kitchen, Sirius’s room, Regulus’s room, the sitting room, and the master bedroom.

i received my first harry potter book in the third grade from a “free books” cart. they had a lot of options, but i went with harry potter. i was a very thoughtful child, i wrote a lot and had a pretty vivid imagination. i owe a lot of that to harry potter, and the idea of magic. the picture shows my copy of order of the phoenix, with a message from my grandparents for my birthday. my harry potter books are a really special thing to me. theyre the physical representation of my childhood. the bookmark is from 2001.
Twinny passed the fever over to me. Thanks, Mary Kate. ;D This is old. I took this about three weeks ago and now I'm on the seventh book.
