And oh, those fresh oranges of Spain, they are everywere! The best orange juice ever!

My favourite glass was sent to me all the way from New York, USA from one of my Flickr friends who I met on Flickr 17 years ago (I live in the UK). We 'met' on Flickr through our love of cats and this glass was part of a fund raising event they had over there in 2019. She kindly sent me this along with lots of other goodies from the event.

This is how you make a glass of orange juice glow and come out of an orange. The table top draped in black. On the left the only light covered by a black reflector. Me pouring the orange juice from a measuring cup. A look behind the magic should make you smile. the old photographer. HSoS PS it has been pointed out to me that that was a grapefruit. 😊

This was a lovely sunny day in the middle of the winter in Tel-Aviv :)

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️❤️

The beautiful label art on this distilled, non-alcoholic spirits bottle inspired me to create this photo. This is the last image in my drinks series. :) I hope you like it!

So, to beat the January blues, I had two New Year’s resolutions this year:

1. yoga every day for the month of January

2. take part in the Dry January challenge

Canada’s latest alcohol consumption guidelines recommend two or less standard drinks per week. Because alcoholic beverages don’t come with a warning, a lot of people aren’t aware that even moderate alcohol consumption can cause various health problems including cancer.

Now that we’re into February, I’m technically “allowed” to have a proper drink, but now I’m not sure that I want to. Maybe I will wait for a special occasion… I hope to continue with daily home yoga as well. We’ll see how that goes. ;)

Cheers, Flickr Friends, and Happy February! I sincerely hope that you are all doing well. Stay healthy, and (if it makes you happy) keep taking photos! 📷✨

Posted for Macro Mondays theme; "Beverage". HMM!

I live in bush Alaska, and when I run out of bottled orange juice, I stir up a glass of "Tang". Done right - it is refreshing.

Hello All!

Macro Mondays is a weekly theme-based challenge. This week's theme is BEVERAGE.

This is just a jigger of plain ol' orange juice. It was too early in the day for any "additives!" :0: Happy Macro Mondays! HMM!

Thanks for stopping by and for leaving a comment. I do love hearing from you! Have a wonderful day and week ahead!

coffee and freshly-squeezed orange juice

The theme for "Smile on Saturday" for the 23rd of November is "observe the O", where the requirement is that I take a picture of something (person, animal, plant, object) that begins with the letter O, with the idea that just adjectives that start with O are not sufficient for it. I had plenty of ideas, but I settled upon oranges. Now oranges are an obvious choice for the theme, so I decided to make mine a little different. Anyone who follows my photostream knows that I love and collect 1:12 size miniatures which I photograph in realistic scenes. The artifice of recreating in minute detail items in 1:12 scale always amazes me, and it’s amazing how the eye can be fooled. Therefore, whilst this still life with oranges and a jug of orange juice may look life sized, it is in fact made up completely of 1:12 miniature pieces, even the tiny silvers of orange on the chopping board! I hope you like my choice for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile!

The oranges come from Beautifully Handmade Miniatures in Kettering and have been hand made using polymer clay by an unknown artist. The jug and glass of orange juice, both of which are made from real spun glass, also comes from Beautifully Handmade Miniatures, as does the wooden chopping board. The juicer was made by Warwick Miniatures in Ireland, who are well known for the quality and detail applied to their pieces. The knife comes from Doreen Jeffries’ Small Wonders Miniatures Shop in the United Kingdom. The orange slices came from an online stockist of miniatures on eBay.

Even though my Mother left us to young I still consider her better baker than me, she used to make incredibly tasting sweets and her cooking was just as delicious,

Each time I make these twisted Greek butter cookies I feel as though she is guiding my fingers as I twist each one of them.

My unconditional love for food it was imbedded into my soul by her.

T and I are back from the Redwoods. Read about it, or let's be honest, just look at the pictures, over on Orange Juice, etc
