If you travel from Inverness over Struie Hill and out past Bonar Bridge the distance is 50 miles, just over an hours drive and it is a nice journey to get here. From here you can go north west to Laxford Bridge or go straight north to Altnaharra. Either option and you are out into very remote countryside. For me I enjoyed a wee walk around Lairg went to the local shop and bought some petrol after that I was ready to head for Laxford Bridge.

KRUGER NATIONAL PARK is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It covers an area of 19,485 km2 in the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga in northeastern South Africa, and extends 360 km from north to south and 65 km from east to west. The administrative headquarters are in Skukuza. Areas of the park were first protected by the government of the South African Republic in 1898, and it became South Africa's first national park in 1926. To the west and south of the Kruger National Park are the two South African provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. In the north is Zimbabwe, and to the east is Mozambique. It is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Kruger National Park with the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique. The park is part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere an area designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an International Man and Biosphere Reserve (the "Biosphere"). Back from another stay in Thessaloniki, this time by myself.
As ever, the city was very welcoming and Greek people have a good grasp on English, which is good as my Greek is non existent.
Old car wise, I would say there has been a slight drop in what is about since last time, and this time there were various cars without plates and with abandoned vehicle notices attached.
However, I still took 300 photos in two and a half days, so I can't really complain.
I really want to visit a succession of smaller Greek towns next time, but it's really not the easiest country to navigate and transportation links are surprisingly limited, unless you want to fly to Athens or Thessaloniki on the mainland, the only other option is the islands, and I don't really fancy that.

A nice creekside hike within the Olympics with an option to check out Marymere Falls. This hike has all types of old growth and lush vegetation.
Most hikers follow Barnes Creek towards Lake Crescent Lodge, but at the junction you will turn left to follow the creek. Soon enough you will come to another junction where you have the option to check out the heavily visited Marymere Falls. This is a popular portion of the trail where most people will be heading. Take a right to stop and check it out if you are interested, otherwise continue onward for Barnes Creek.
Continuing onward, the trail has a much different feeling, as it quickly becomes less crowded.
The trail rolls mostly up and rarely down over the next 5.5 miles. Despite being unmaintained, it is in relatively good condition.
The trail fords four creeks and numerous seeps. While the first is unnamed, the following three creeks are Lizard Head Creek, Happy Lake Creek, and Barnes Creek. The mossy trail winds its way through old growth Douglas fir and western hemlock forests. Younger stands show evidence of the valley's fire history.
In spring, watch out for bunchberry blooms and starflowers peppering the mossy forest floor. In summer, pipsissewa bloom profusely next to wild huckleberries and blueberries. In the fall, creekside vine maples paint ochre hues into the verdant landscape.
For those wishing to camp, potential sites are just below the start of this trail at Dismal Draw, 3.5 miles up lower Barnes Creek and next to Happy Lake Creek, 2.9 miles past the Aurora Divide intersection.
After 5.2 miles and 3300 feet of climbing, the trail peters out in a dark stand of stunted western hemlock on the ridge top. Just before reaching this terminus, the trail forks, leading steeply up to the left. Take this trail another half mile up to the top of Lookout Dome.
The trail winds around the backside and up to the top of the dome, where the intrepid hiker can enjoy cliffside views of the Hughes Creek valley sprawling below. Baldy Ridge extends rocky and cliff-faced to the North, the Elwha River meanders far below, and behind, to the West, one can see the Barnes Creek watershed draining down toward a glimpse of Lake Crescent through the trees.
It's possible to day hike this trail from Storm King Ranger station to the top and back but, at around 20 miles round trip, this trail is much more doable as an overnight backpacking trip.

In 1819, Sir Thomas Raffles negotiated a treaty whereby Johor allowed the British to locate a trading port on the island. The Sultan of Johor is the sovereign ruler of the Malaysian state of Johor. It all was leading to the establishment of the British colony of Singapore in 1819. The port was strategically located along the main trade route between India and China. Singapore became an independent republic in 1965. Nowadays the country has become one of the world's most prosperous nations, with a highly developed free market economy and strong international trading links. Tourism in Singapore is a major industry and is the 5th most visited city in the world. Along with this, it also has one of the world's lowest crime rates. Public transport is easy when visiting Singapore. This includes the well-known Mass Rapid Transit system. MRT trains are fully automated without driver! Singapore is a green and clean city. It is also full of natural attractions and cultural heritage sites, from botanic gardens and nature parks to temples and museums. Chinatown is a small piece of China in the heart of Singapore. Once an enclave for Singapore’s Chinese immigrant population, the Chinatown of today is much-beloved for its blend of old and new, with historic temples and traditional medicinal halls sitting alongside hip new bars and lifestyle shops. You also can't miss the three monstrous towers of Marina Bay Sands which stand at the Marina Bay waterfront. Apart from the casino, the Marina Bay Sands also has a shopping mall, resorts, museums, theatres, an ice skating rink, and a Skydeck with an infinity pool.
Getting around Singapore by MRT (train) is simple. Singapore's public transport system is fast and efficient, and brings you to memorable attractions in no time. The Marina Bay Sands is a most icon hotel with and a wide range of shopping, casino and entertainment options. The resort includes a 2,561-room hotel. The three towers are connected by a 1 hectare roof terrace, Sands SkyPark. The observation deck provides panoramic views across the bay and world's largest rooftop Infinity Pool.

So this week, I wanted to be really different by changing up Fatima's look quite drastically. I gave her black hair and some bigger lashes to really make her face and outfit pop. I might redo this photo next weekend since I'm not all too happy with it but I guess this will do for now. I hope you like it.
